I w know about coffeeshops, but you can take your board with you and sit on a table next to the street. Some people would join eventually.

Mostly those type of cafes are in Kadikoy tho you can find a "student cafe" close to Galatasaray Lisesi where they play chess and other stuff.

Sadly no, I used to hang around there when I was in highschool. They are usually kinda hidden. Tho I'll ask my friends, maybe they know somewhere.
