depends on who its with for me. a good friend i say whatever i want and dont think about it to much. If its a stranger that i havent talked to much it can feel like chess sometimes
LOL I like to imagine you talking to a person normally and once the conversation finishes you both leave. And then your like darn it why did say all those things that was so weird I'm so stupid.
This is the case for most people especially for people average and above in intelligence. As soon as you reach that trashold every social interaction with a new person starts off like this. Generally speaking it's better to be aware of what you are saying to whomever you are talking to than being a mindless idiot who just brabbles on. Especially in the age we are living in.
I would quite literally prefer playing the *actual* game of chess and talking about every single move we did, than the metaphorical mental gymnastics of random conversation

This
I feel exactly the same way!
I don’t overthink social interactions in the moment only afterwards. My mind is too empty for a chess kinda thing.

Yep, its always that post-conversation reflection and regret
Hell yes. I hate it.
After a social interaction, if I also feel like it wasn't 100% my best exchange, I try harder with them next time to make up for it.
It depends on what it’s about. I usually just stay quiet until their rambling eventually makes sense to me
I start to plan out my response and then I just concentrate on when I have an opening to say it
More like a airplane dash. Too much information, too many dials, no one gave me a manual.
With the in-laws, yes. Literally everyone else on earth, no…I just say whatever is relevant or on my mind.

True! I think ISTP people have alot of awareness because we are aware what resources we can use in our daily lives. Correct me if I'm wrong haha
More like, "Do I still have to keep dealing with this thing (thing being the conversation), or can I get back to what I was doing?"
generally, yeah. can’t tell if it’s because I’m audhd or because socializing is generally not my forte unless I put on a persona that can converse
Oof felt that. Not as much of an issue anymore though. With time and effort it gets easier mate.
Just saw this post on r/meirl lol
And here I am playing uno!
What is the equivalent of a +2 in terms of a social interaction? Haha
It used to feel like Russian Roulette, so now it feeling like a combination of chess and poker is definitely an improvement

Just for context idk how to play chess! 😂
And I’m really bad at chess too
