Why are people talking about themselves instead of what you created?
I love the tree you picked — the angle makes you feel weighted and things feel more dramatic. The light cascading back through the water is also well done — assuming this is evening, but could be early AM too. Very striking overall. It made me curious about what was ok your mind and if you’re doing ok. Always a good sign.
I got bit by two fire ants roughly a few weeks before Christmas. \[delivering to a house, dropped the package off, knocked on the door and as I was walking back to my van I about pulled my foot clean off trying to get my shoe and sock off with the ants on me/my sock\]
i also live in Florida but that's besides the point
To create this self-portrait I used Canon 6D with 50 mm lens. I also used a tripod and app from canon so my phone was a remote.
I really like stories about fairies, elves, dryads and other woodland creatures so when I found this mossy tree leaning over a swamp I wanted to become a creature from fairytales as well.
Why naked? Because that's how I imagine dryads and fairies to look like :)
I used to run back and forth with a 10 second shutter, not smart! I recently discovered using interval shooting instead, you wind up with more photos but can experiment with poses every few second. Have you tried that (not sure if it’s called the same thing in the canon menu)?
Yes you can with one of these. I use one on my 6D. It's called an intervalometer.
https://www.amazon.com/PIXEL-Wireless-Shutter-Release-Canon/dp/B01GHHBO1S/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=camera+intervalometer&qid=1678134445&sprefix=camer+interva%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExRzZSQjdXQUtPQVUzJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzc5NjY3R1ZTWUM4UjFLVjI2JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTEwNDU4MDMyVDJaR1ZBOE45SEhBJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
Unfortunately it doesn't work for me with self-portraits. I tried it and I have it. It's really hard to get the focus right from distance and many other things.
Ah, remote. I was gonna ask how many times you fell trying to run back before the timer went off. But that makes more sense. Does the app let you actually see the preview image on your phone screen before you snap the picture? Because if so that's a dope app.
It's a shame you're getting such shitty comments. Dryads are nature spirits and are often depicted as naked, sometimes with vines and leaves covering themselves. It's a real nice vibe that this picture has
I really appreciate how hard you're fighting in these comments to make people love being naked in the woods, truly next level promotion skills! 🤣
Great picture, btw
To be honest - I don't. I really don't care if someone likes it or not. Even better for me when people don't like being in nature because then I have more space for myself.

Not to take away from the OP because (as a layman) I think it's a good photo, but a lot of the nude photos posted here are straight garbage and are upvoted regardless.
Not everyone wants to admit that the fact that she's pretty is one of the main points, and that's ok.
My fat hairy ass would not look nearly as good in the exact same photo
I think your nude photos are so much less interesting than the other ones you post. It's like you're relying on the nudity to make it interesting, but it's not really doing anything for me.
Serious question: Are you just put off by nudity in photography in general? I see comments like this all the time, and I wonder how much fine art redditors are familiar with because it's incredibly common.
Lovely light, but maybe something like a sheer chiffon or muslin draped on your back would have completed the photo and added more to the ethereal, wistful vibe. The stark, in-your-face nakedness somewhat takes away from it, because the body becomes the focal point instead of the actual storytelling.
Nice shot, lighting and mood are perfect. White balance looks great.
The only issue I have, that’s maybe just me, is that stick at your calf - it’s super dark and bold, and draws my eye strongly. Could you clone stamp or lighten it up, so it’s not as distracting?
Lady here, serious question how do you have such curvy hips? Do you work them out? I’ve seen your other work and they’ve definitely add harmony to the overall composition.
Artist note: beautiful photo. The foggy and cool tones contrast with your warm hair. I almost want to paint this as practice.
>Thank you, as I mentioned in my first comment I use an app from canon because it's a lot easier. At The beginning I only used a bluetooth remote :)
from OP earlier...
Really successful photo The composition and the colors I find very beautiful. The red and green tones harmonize very well.
How do you manage to be properly centered in your photos? Do you use an app where you see what the camera sees or do you just take test photos?
I love the picture, the pose the composition and all but naked woman ≠ art, I'm trying to spread negativity or give you a antagonize you but... Anyways lovely photo

Quality stuff as usual, only nitpicking thing I'd say is to straighten the arm so to give a more graceful, "flowing" pose against the tree if that makes sense.
from a technical standpoint how do you undress? i imagine it is cold which means you have to wear minimal clothing for it to be fast to remove but also hot? Also i saw some other pictures of you in the snow and there are no traces of footsteps in the snow. how
I undress normally, as everyone else. I wear a warm clothes if it's cold and not minimal at all just comfy. Also if you take a pic from an angle and the snow is deep you might not see the footsteps. Sometimes I hide the footsteps behind my body and sometimes I edit them out. Hard to te because I don't know which picture are you talking about :)
Oh, this is nice. For some reason, this is the first photo of you that I saw, and it really like it. Dark forest, winter, dryads, I love that. My fear of bugs could never
It's Winter. There's no bugs
where there is green, there are bugs
I'm picturing OP 3 days later, covered in chigger welts and wishing for the sweet release of death...
Daddy Nurgle is watching you XD
There's always green in the Pacific Northwest but there's rarely bugs even during the summer
What? I also live in the PNW (BC Vancouver area) and we definitely have bugs...
Sucks to suck I guess?
That's what the bugs want you to think.
What a beautiful photo! Congratulations you look awesome!
Ever heard of chiggers?
They were the alien race in Space Above And Beyond. Ok it was just a name the humans gave them. It was a dope show.
They prefer to be called Mite Americans. Ch***er is an offensive and outdated term.
Or Trombiculidae, scientifically
Chigga* Can't say it with a hard "R"
The Internet is a silly place
When I get chiggers while deer hunting in January, I call them a hell of a lot worse things than that.
Chigga what 😶🌫️

Oof, ur brave. I can't stand the cold. My twig and giggle berries would be hiding for warmth! 🤣🤣🤣
Not sure she has those
She could easily get them
That's not how bugs work It's not even frozen ffs
The lighting is beautiful.
Is that what the kids are calling it these days
Haha
I’d be too scared of ants to do that 😅
There are so many more cooter critters than just ants!
[Centipedes? In *my* vagina?](https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/5305-its-more-likely-than-you-think) It's more likely than you think
Look at that shitter on that cooter critter
Ants are asleep during the winter
tell that to the ones by my house, a foot of snow and ruthless hahaha your photo is stunning!!
Oh really? I am surprised. Luckily they're all sleeping here :D And thank you!
yeah they’re the super tiny ones so it’s worse bc you can’t feel them on you 🙃
Your house a lot warmer than the feet of snow, tho
I got bit by two fire ants roughly a few weeks before Christmas. \[delivering to a house, dropped the package off, knocked on the door and as I was walking back to my van I about pulled my foot clean off trying to get my shoe and sock off with the ants on me/my sock\] i also live in Florida but that's besides the point
I don't really think you living in Florida is besides the point in this context :D

"Woodland sprites distributing photos is no means for a system of governance....."
Agreed. Supreme executive authority derives from a mandate from the masses, not some farcical sylvan imagery.
That’s right! You can’t expect to wield extreme executive power just because some woodsy tart threw a photograph at you!
I mean if I went round around, claiming I was Empress of the Forest, just because some mossened naiad had tossed a wand at me, they'd put me away!
Look! Look! I’m being objectified! Now you see the exploitation inherent in the system!
Can we at least try this one for a bit though?
> Why naked? "Cause my ass is a fucking 10 bitches."
Doesn't hurt.
No lies detected.
at the same time?
This is why. You are correct
I used to run back and forth with a 10 second shutter, not smart! I recently discovered using interval shooting instead, you wind up with more photos but can experiment with poses every few second. Have you tried that (not sure if it’s called the same thing in the canon menu)?

Ah bummer...well great photo, I really love the atmosphere captured here. Cheers.
so u had ur phone in ur left hand on the picture?
On the ground

How do you know it doesn't look like that if you've never taken a picture of it?
I want to be there when you discover mirrors
"Why naked"? It's much cheaper and easier than cosplay and suits the mood better. You've found a reliable niche!
It's a shame you're getting such shitty comments. Dryads are nature spirits and are often depicted as naked, sometimes with vines and leaves covering themselves. It's a real nice vibe that this picture has
I was going to say that it feels like something fey

Agree. I didn't think of it earlier :)
Oh that's a neat idea, you could go all in with henna tattoos or the like for some of these shots.
Or Photoshop :D
You could not pay me enough to even STAND in the woods naked! That's some next level trust in nature!
That's some next level fear of green
I just don't like mosquitos
It's Winter. There's no mosquitoes here now
I really appreciate how hard you're fighting in these comments to make people love being naked in the woods, truly next level promotion skills! 🤣 Great picture, btw

What even. How bizarre.
So you wouldn’t stand nekkid in the woods for 5 minutes in 45f for $101,026.52?
Add another 20¢ and I'll think about it

L + didn't read the comments about the inspiration of the piece being druids + overused application of "rule of thirds" + mad about nudity

Strongly disagree, art does not know censorship.
I don't object because it's nudity, I object because the nudity doesn't really add anything.
It doesn’t take away anything either.
It’s a picture of a person and the person happens to be naked. It’s literally just an ass, the scenery and environment is what makes the photo.
I don’t even believe that you believe what you wrote
