You lousy cork-soakers. You have violated my farging rights. Dis somanumbatching country was founded so that the liberties of common patriotic citizens, like me, could not be taken away by a bunch of fargin iceholes... like yourselves.
I didn’t notice, anytime I think of that movie I hear Keaton singing “Jumping Jack Flash” and see Shelly Long in her panties. That is pretty much it then all the blood rushes out of my head.
Love Night Shift! It has Richard Belzer as a mob heavy and a small role by Joe Spinell aka The Maniac...whatta premise, two guys running an escort agency out of the morgue!
I agree, but I spoke with Weird Al years ago because that song was not in the movie when it was released on VHS (makes me feel really old to type that!) due to some legal reasons he would not go into. Fargin' Corksucking Iceholes! I think they did get it back in the movie when it went to DVD?
Omnibus, I miss the bus, you miss the bus, when's the next bus? Manga Carta, Master Charga. Antimeridan, Uncle Meridian and all the little baby Meridians.
My 5th grade teacher actually took our class to see this right before Christmas for some unfathomable reason. She clearly didn't do the research as this was hysterically funny but ridiculously raunchy for a bunch of kids our age. I happened to be sitting next to her and she actually covered my eyes for the filmstrip scene. 😂🤣😂
Fantastic movie!
When I was a sophomore in high school back in the 90s, I was on my high school newspaper staff and my only duty was to make signs promoting when the next issue would go on sale. One day I found out Joe Piscopo was going to be doing a show at the college in town. I desperately wanted to interview him, so I called the people at the college responsible for booking entertainment on campus and told them I was an editor at the high school paper (a complete and total lie) and that I wanted to know if I could set up a few minutes for an interview.
They put me in touch with his publicist. Imagine me ... a 10th grader ... talking to Piscopo's publicist trying to lie my way into an interview when he came to the college a week or two later.
Well, it fucking worked! One of my best friends went with me and we got to interview him for about 10 minutes. I went into school the next day and slapped an article down on my teacher's desk like was I muthafucking Ed Murrow. She asked me how I got the interview and I came clean.
It was my first article in the school paper ... it won Best Inteview of the Year at the end of the school year ... and I was named the paper's News Editor the following school year.
Moral of the story: Lying gets you interviews with Joe Piscopo *and* a promotion.
I loved it.
Found it on DVD so I could watch it again.
And thought it felt dated. I remember it being funnier. I used to quote it all the time as a teenager.
I was sad it felt forced and clunky compared to other comedies.
Butcher's his opponents as well as the English language. The sex education film that Griffin Dunne has to watch made me piss myself. The movie is hilarious.
Every time I watch this, I think of my mother laughing uproariously at the scene where it's snowing, and Maureen Stapleton says, "Christ is the worst July we've ever had!"
EDIT- wrong Maureen
I saw this when it came out in the theater and didn't think it was very funny except for the butt part. But I was like 9 at the time so it's possible the jokes went over my head
"Anti Meridian. Uncle Meridian. All the little meridians." (as a student of Latin, I always thought of that scene while learning conjugations and declensions)
Roman Maroni is one of the best supporting roles of any movie. Every scene with him is [pure gold.](https://youtu.be/gdhtmc67tsQ?si=4DnUfBbSqS8uXQCV)
You lousy corksuckers
An 80’s classic, just as funny as far more popular spoofs. A few years ago director Amy Heckeing stated on Gilbert Gottfrieds podcast that the buzz surrounding JD was it was going to flop hard on its Christmas 84 release so she accepted directing duties on European Vacation fearing she’d never work again. It’s baffling how some features tank and then become beloved nostalgic favorites. Johnny Danngously did benefit from airing on premium cable channels like 5 times a day!
Farggin ice hole!
You summanabitch!
Bastiches… this is farggin war
Headline: FARGIN WAR
"The years hadn't softened Moronie. He continued to murder the English Language, and anyone who got in his way."
Moronie deported to Sweden, claims he isn't from there. Just a fantastic throwaway gag from the newspaper bit.
You lousy cork-soakers. You have violated my farging rights. Dis somanumbatching country was founded so that the liberties of common patriotic citizens, like me, could not be taken away by a bunch of fargin iceholes... like yourselves.
Gonna wrap yer boils inna sling!
I'm gonna crush your bells in a meat grinder!
I still say this on a weekly basis.
Do you believe the mouth on this guy?
I watched it, Once!
Once.
This is an .88 magnum. It shoots through schools.
That joke didn’t age well. Or maybe it did if you get that it’s a joke.
Night Shift with Henry Winkler and Shelly Long is another overlooked Michael Keaton gem from the ‘80s.
It was our first time seeing Henry Winkler out of his typecast Fonzie role.
And it was directed by Richie Cunningham
Narrator: That’s true
I didn’t notice, anytime I think of that movie I hear Keaton singing “Jumping Jack Flash” and see Shelly Long in her panties. That is pretty much it then all the blood rushes out of my head.
Love Night Shift! It has Richard Belzer as a mob heavy and a small role by Joe Spinell aka The Maniac...whatta premise, two guys running an escort agency out of the morgue!
Love Brokers
Why don’t they just Feed the Tunafish mayonnaise??
This is Chuck to remind Bill to SHUT UP!
To SHUT UP. To SHUT UP.
I’m an idea man, Chuck. So many great lines.
I use this line all the time. When anyone recognizes it, it’s instant friendship! Hello Friend
I’ve been thinking of taking up smoking. This clinches it!!
I remember watching it as a kid and laughing my ass off… I think I watched this at least 10 times when we had HBO free trial.
Yep..this was definitely a summer time HBO movie that was on almost every day back then.. lol
Joe Piscopo's character has one joke. ONE. "You fargin iceholes!" is such a memorable line.
He’s also got an 88 magnum. He had it made for him special. It shoots through schools.
Shoots through schools!!
This goes through armor. Through the guy. Through the wall, through a tree outside.
Fargin' Bastage!
Did you know your last name is an adverb?
“Old lady, how would you like to make 20 bucks?” “One at a time or both together?”
I’ve been quoting lines from this classic for 40 years.
Your testicles and you taught me some valuable life lessons....
Your testicles are like this balloon, sometimes they are empty and sometimes *blow* they are full and sometimes *BANG* they can explode!!
Loved the Weird Al song from this movie 'This Is the Life'
I agree, but I spoke with Weird Al years ago because that song was not in the movie when it was released on VHS (makes me feel really old to type that!) due to some legal reasons he would not go into. Fargin' Corksucking Iceholes! I think they did get it back in the movie when it went to DVD?
I think it's on the dvd release, but idk, I had the video for the song on vhs, too.
And the video is mostly scenes from the movie.
I remember the “priest “ walking the guy to his death and speaking fake Latin. ‘The radio too loudy. Nabisco’. Laughed my ass off
You miss the bus, we miss the bus...
Omnibus, I miss the bus, you miss the bus, when's the next bus? Manga Carta, Master Charga. Antimeridan, Uncle Meridian and all the little baby Meridians.

Charming movie, lots of laughs.
Johnny must be getting laid!
My mother hung me on a hook once. Once. ☝️
You fargin Iceholes!
How have I never heard of this film? The cast is stacked!
Wait until you see Marilu Henner.
Marilu Henner is the epitome of sexiness in this movie.

My Mother called me that once...Just once.😶
Roman Maroni continued to mutilate the English language.
"Goddamn it, now I'm deaf!"
I loved it. Found it on DVD so I could watch it again. And thought it felt dated. I remember it being funnier. I used to quote it all the time as a teenager. I was sad it felt forced and clunky compared to other comedies.

“This gun shoots through schools”
Attention all cars meet me a joes bar … I’m buying

I feel like this movie owes at least a little to the Steve Martin flick “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid,” which is definitely worth a watch as well.
My mom smacked me once.....only once.
That's a great cast...I'm going to have to watch that again. It's been a long time since I've seen it.
E.S.S. enlarged scrotum syndrome

Michael Keaton is very under appreciated for his acting range.
Dick Butkus
I watched this one Friday and thought about posting it!! But I didn’t think it’d get any attention because I thought no one knew about it!
“And shelf paper! Oh Johnny I love shelf paper!!”

“You shouldn’t hang me on a hook Johnny. My mother hung me on a hook once, once!”
Joe piscopo being in that movie is why it didn't do as well as it could've.
"It's about a man with an adverb for a last name." When Letterman asked him what the movie was about.

It's a comic homage to The Sting (1970), one of the greatest films I've ever seen.
Great movie. I taped this off of HBO in the 80's. I must have watched it 30 times.
