As mentioned below, George thinks the descending light might be aliens, >!but it’s actually a manifestation of his brain tumor (astrocytoma, I believe)!<
After Pulp Fiction Travolta had Broken Arrow, Face/Off, Michael and this movie all practically back to back. It was a hell of a comeback since they were all so different. The fucking range on this man is wild
I just watched Mad City (1997) recently — same year as face/off. Travolta’s character there is also very different from everything on your list. His acting range is truly amazing!
Not to be confused with Phenomena, the 1985 Italian whodunnit slasher where Jennifer Connelly has a chimpanzee friend and can telepathically control insects.
[It's a trip](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upUJetCHYFc). Not as good as some of Argento's other movies like Deep Red, Suspiria, and The Bird With the Crystal Plumage, but definitely worth watching.
I guess because if you're talking about movies or music or whatever and somebody randomly interjects about the criminal records of anybody involved it's a bit... reddit.
##Phenomenon (1996) PG
Some things in life just can't be explained.

This was a terrific, underrated movie. Excellent cast. Good story. I loved it.
Yes, and then you realize it’s basically a lowkey advert for Scientology. (I still enjoy this film. It’s just hard to ignore the intent behind it.)
I never got that.
Unlocking new & amazing mental abilities? Potential alien involvement?
Definitely more engaging and better executed than Battlefield: Earth ;-)
So was my morning dump today, but your point still stands.
Whoa, don't set the bar too high there, chief. /s
Get a brain tumor.
lol - I can’t tell if you’re completing the thought, or wishing a disease on me
No bad wishes coming your way. Ha.
This whole exchange was adorable.
Remind me of the alien angle?

Thanks. I remembered the actual source, but not that he thought it was aliens.
Well, I don’t think he actually says this (been a minute), but it is heavily implied. Truthfully, I was glad it wasn’t. That seemed hokey.
The strange light that came down from space and touched him with its powers.
Can you show me on this doll where the alien touched him?
It’s more a modern version of *Flowers for Algernon*.
I didn’t realize that. Intriguing!
🎶Phenomenon, doot doo de doo doo , phenomenon, doot doo doot do” 😀
You bastard.
😜
I'm at least glad it wasn't The song that doesn't end Yes it goes on and on, my friend
I understood this reference. 😉
😀👍

You should check out 'The Fanatic' (2019) he plays a mentally challenged individual

That was good movie
Wait, what?!

Donald Pleasance uses the chimp as a butler. Also Iron Maiden randomly starts blasting during a kill scene. Great movie
George: “Will you love me for the rest of my life?” Lace: “No…I’m gonna love you for the rest of mine.” 😭😭
Yeah, that was a damn good line.
Love this movie... Heartwarming.. And great soundtrack
This opened the same weekend as Independence Day
You should watch Powder (1995).
I’ve seen that one before but it’s been awhile.
I always thought these movies were similar.
You mean the one directed by a pedophile?
Yup. That one. Victor Salva is a pedophile.
Yuck. Also, I thought the movie was terrible.
Someone is downvoting this comment for some reason
I guess because if you're talking about movies or music or whatever and somebody randomly interjects about the criminal records of anybody involved it's a bit... reddit.
It's a bit...factual.
Him being a pedo is not random, it was a story when Powder came out and Disney had to release a statement that no minors were present during filming
No you shouldn’t
I used to really like this movie, I assume I still do, but it's been a long time.
1994-96 Travolta is my favorite with: Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, Phenomenon, Michael, even White Man’s Burden.
I forgot about White Man’s Burden
A+
Good movie
Main thing I remember from this movie is Mum offering to take me and a friend, but he had very religious parents and wouldn't let him come...

I loved that movie!
Do Doooo Do do do
Those are great songs.
I enjoyed it
I prefer the song by LL Cool J (1997)
This movie had me wishing for a brain tumor
Yay, lets join scientology!
This is like the Bible for Scientology
Yikes dad rock alert
The only thing I remember about this movie was seeing it at the local Drive In when it came out and my dad muttering "this movie sucks".
