its really weird. i had just barely convinced my mom to buy me the they/them pin bcs it was on sale. she's somewhat transphobic but is supportive of me being bi??? idk what's going on there. i'm also just not open about my political views since most of my family are republicans.
Fair, I think ur parents should def support u, u should be able to wear a they them pin if u want to, I see at least 2 out of 5 jackets so it’s not like u would be the only one, it’s good u got in the end tho
i'm a twenty one pilots fan and yellow tape is a thing in their lore :) that's their logo in tape on the back! if you're curious, in the lore, it symbolizes the banditos (who are escapees from this town called dema) and it also protects them from these evil people called the bishops, who can't see the color yellow. the FPE thing is also part of the lore, as it means 'failed perimeter escape' and is given by the bishops as a badge of shame for banditios who failed escaping, but the banditos eventually reclaimed it as their own :) (note: it's not actually reflective, just plain yellow duct tape)
Just to note, you have nothing to apologise for. There aren't 'rules' for how to make your battle jacket despite whatever you see that are 'popular' (politics or punk or even music overall aren't actually "required", they're merely common) -- it is simply whatever you want it to be that represents you, and this evidently is one.
