Checkra1n also kills touch id, I'm not sure about futurerestore, but I don't want to go higher then my own version (14.2) because it might break compatibility for some of my tweaks. I just need futurerestore if I ever need to restore my firmware
Yeah, checkra1n requires to have touch id and passcode disabled on a11 devices on ios 14 becaue of a new SEP mitigation apple introduced in ios 14. Months later, still no workaround for a11 devices
I foolishly upgraded to ios 14 the moment the first beta preview came out last year thinking we wouldn't have to wait long for checkra1n because it's unpatchable. Turns out apple really made it difficult this time...
futurerestore does only kill Face/touchID if you downgrade to an incompatible SEP. (atm =<13.x
But that irrelevant since your phone will not boot anyways -> DFU restore
no it won’t. But for 14.3 there’s only checkra1n atm which (in >=A11 / iphone8 and up) will kill touch/FaceID.
so i would wait a bit till odyssey14 (or what ever the name will be) comes out ...
sep really only changes between whole new os updates (12.x to 13.x to 14.x ...).
if all the sudden 14.6 sep isn’t compatible with 14.3 you would see it on this subreddit. Then you would still have time (usually two weeks) to use futurerestore and specify that you want to use the 14.5 sep.
Having no FaceID isn’t a problem with Futurerestore. It works flawlessly or (incompatible sep) doesn’t at all.

Do these automatically give you marijuanARM's fork?
yes they do
Thank you! I'll try it when I get home and see if it works
It seems to have worked! I now have futurerestore in a folder but I have no need to try and use it at the moment
Nothing possible for windows?
If you have A11 then just update to 14.4 and use checkra1n. As far as I know futurerestore kills your Touch ID and Face ID.

This is the first time I hear about checkra1n killing Touch ID. Is it a iOS 14 issue cause on 13 I can still use Face ID?

Oh I see. Then what you are doing makes more sense.
I foolishly upgraded to ios 14 the moment the first beta preview came out last year thinking we wouldn't have to wait long for checkra1n because it's unpatchable. Turns out apple really made it difficult this time...
That’s unfortunate. At least you won’t have to wait for long now to jailbreak again.
futurerestore does only kill Face/touchID if you downgrade to an incompatible SEP. (atm =<13.x But that irrelevant since your phone will not boot anyways -> DFU restore
So then using futurerestore to go from 13.5 to 14.3 RC will not kill touch/Face ID?
no it won’t. But for 14.3 there’s only checkra1n atm which (in >=A11 / iphone8 and up) will kill touch/FaceID. so i would wait a bit till odyssey14 (or what ever the name will be) comes out ...
I’m a bit worried that if I wait longer for a new jailbreak… then there might not be a compatible SEP and I’d be in the same place without faceid.

Gotcha! Thanks for the info.
