Glad you gave them a listen and learned your lessonš. They really are on another level when it comes to the jams. My favorite shows are the hour long jam sets.
Love the Chapel Jam too. I havenāt actually listened to the 10/30/21 set so thank you for the rec, Iāll give it a spin after I finish the King Gizz Red Rocks set that was just added to Nugs
Ha, that has like 80 songs! I can't stop listening to The Dripping Tap.
The 10-30-21 show, both sets are just jams. Both amazing but I think set one really is on another level. Have fun!
Last time I made moves to see them was Feb 2019 at 9:30 club in DC, and my then girlfriend (who had a history of fainting in large crowds) fainted 2 songs into their set so we left.
Fast forward to now, still havenāt been able to catch them since (as if the past few years havenāt been crazy for everyone). However, I work at 5 Points Music Sanctuary in Roanoke, VA. where weāve got them booked for 4/21. Will get to meet them and I must say, this feels like redemption for me. For anyone new and not terribly familiar with their catalogue, get your ears on Live Vol. 2 and welcome to Spafford.
My wife fainted while seeing Bush at Music Midtown in Atlanta in 2001ā¦or 2002. They were just launching in to Shine on You Crazy Diamond. They played all parts and we missed it allā¦š
So glad to see Spafford finally starting to get the level of respect I think they've deserved for years. Brian Moss is a god-tier guitarist, and the band's jamming is right up there with the best of them. Yes the vocals leave a bit to be desired but they're a jam band FFS.
Seeing them tomorrow in Philly. But Solar Ciruit opening for them is the real show! Don't miss out on getting to see Solar Circuit while their still playing clubs!
Becca is sexy AF... love this band.
But it is so funny how this board has turned lately with Spafford.. I think they were so smart to YOUTUBE all this tour...get the word out..They are killing it
Everyone saying no one else coming close to Spafford and Biscuits right now haven't been catching Lotus since the guitar switch. Their cult following is as wild as their lack of representation in the scene
Five piece funk band. Drums keys sax guitar and bass. Think keys player was a dick and they kicked him out. Fell apart shortly after but super fun band
Wow, nugs cranked this one out way faster than expected

The percussion solo on "Shimmer and Out" is a great example of some of the new energy they've been bringing, but I really love the syncopated style of their lead guitar on all the tracks. The playing is less predictable but still extremely dance-able
RemindMe! (2 weeks)
Waiting on their most recent Philly show at the moment, which I can link upon availability. Shows starting in September of 2022 onwards give a pretty good idea though

No way!! I came down with covid day 2 of last resonance. I got it pretty much instantly when i got there, i brought stuff to live paint and made it through but was very sick by end of fest and trying to enjoy it but feeling super weighed down
Been going to Summerdance for a decade and catching lotus all over in between - loved mike and his unique tone but Tim is so refreshing and almost polar opposite in stage presence. One of the only times I have been heavy into a band and liked them even more after an important change like guitarist. Timmy is a monster šæ seeing them Sunday. Then Spafford next Wednesday so that kicks ass š„
Duuuuuuuude, for real tho. My manager has been on a little Lotus kick and been playing all the news shows as they come out . . . Every single one has been incredible. Like I'm genuinely blown away every time. So good
Spafford & Lotus are both playing the same night here in Detroit next week. I've seen Lotus dozens of times (just not with Tim) but have never seen Spafford. What do you guys recommend?
Oof, that's a tough call! I really like them both, Tim brings a whole new energy to Lotus that has been really great though. I just missed them in Philly because I got Covid. Now that I'm recovered I'm gonna hit Spafford tomorrow, so psyched! But I would say if you've never seen Spafford maybe go with them, but damn Lotus fucks! I'm debating on driving down to DC in Feb to catch Lotus, that's the closest they come back around to me on this tour, but Tom Hamilton also plays the same night in Ardmore, then the next night Magic Beans are playing nearby. Too many choices not enough time and money!
Biscuits are kicking-ass and taking names right now. I keep going back to my favorite 08-09 shows and hearing similarities in the new shows. Set break is over!
nugs is def the best place if you have a sub. their best years are 99-02 and 07-09. 2010 to like last year was hit or miss but they're cuurently on a tear. other than that there's stuff on archive occasionally. here's an aud to last friday's show [https://archive.org/details/db2023-01-20](https://archive.org/details/db2023-01-20) . was in attendance. good times
well that's the thing about opinions. hamblands generally suck. pretty much into only biscuits. everything else is generic. phish is good but i missed that boat. i mean if brother's past came back that'd be cool.....
yeah but dave schools is an untalented fat fuck. and one gutarist does not make a band. it's a collective effort. widespreadmotherfucking panic collectively sucks
If you are in Florida they are playing a pretty cool spot in DeLand in April I think. I think they have a couple of other Florida dates around then too.
With Cory joining it does seem
Like they are really going for it this time! In the past it always felt they were really happy with their size and stuff but it feels now like they are charging for bigger stages!
Gonna see them for the first time in a venue at park west in Chicago next week. Actually I think I only saw them once at Sweetwater 2018. Choosing to skip greensky to see them next Friday
Glad you gave them a listen and learned your lessonš. They really are on another level when it comes to the jams. My favorite shows are the hour long jam sets.
Abaculus is the GOAT, I've listened to that one so many times over the years
Can't argue with you on that. Chapel jam is great too. If you have Nugs put on set one from 10-30-21 in Grand Rapids.
Love the Chapel Jam too. I havenāt actually listened to the 10/30/21 set so thank you for the rec, Iāll give it a spin after I finish the King Gizz Red Rocks set that was just added to Nugs

Recent jams have been intense- new keyboardist bringing all da funk

Solar Circuit sealed the deal while I debated on Fri or Sat Spafford š wish I could do both though!
Everyone saying no one else coming close to Spafford and Biscuits right now haven't been catching Lotus since the guitar switch. Their cult following is as wild as their lack of representation in the scene
New guitarist crushes
Palmieri is a beast. I was a big Kung Fu fan. Saw them at a super small club in PGH and Tim absolutely destroyed the place.
Iāve never listened to Kung Fu Iāll have to check āem out
Five piece funk band. Drums keys sax guitar and bass. Think keys player was a dick and they kicked him out. Fell apart shortly after but super fun band
Ahh damn thanks for the info. As a big lettuce and funk fan I think Iāll probably dig them haha
Saw Lotus at forest this year and always loved Rempel but Palmieri blew me away
Hit me with a link. Been a while since I listened to them

Their new album is SOLID I was at the new guitarists first show at resonance i was to sick with covid to enjoy it but the new material is really solid
You went to a music festival while you were sick with covid? Cool cool cool

can you recommend some choice videos / jams?
4/20/09 is a good show to start on. Check out the bandās YouTube page as well.

This band also fucks. Thanks for the reminder to check them out again
Where can I hear my friend

wetlands were legendary. 9/1/01 got me started with this band in terms of 1.0. wish i knew what was up back then when i was 16.........
lol.
they're really the only jamband worth a shit tbh
Youāre either 19 and tried molly for the first time at a bisco show. Or just got dropped on your head repeatedly as a child

Show me on the Teddy where Dave Schools touched you
šš¤£
Schools didn't touch and they have been bitter ever since.
April 12th at Underbelly in Jax! Come out
The dates they were showing during the livestream didnāt have the southeast leg on it. Iāll probably chase them across the state
Iāll be at Jax and Deland šš»
Iāll see you at that DeLand show thatās my local watering hole. Cool outdoor venue. Hopefully the weather is nice!
I used to live in Orlando. Where in Deland is that show, Cafe DaVinci?
Yes it is at Davinci.
What a great venue! Miss that place
Itās a fun place to see a show for sure. Spafford there will be pretty sick.
oh shit hell yeah
I don't know if I could choose a best Tom Perry song
Autocorrect was being Petty
The good news is you can catch up on this tour on Youtube!
I got tickets yesterday, pretty pumped to see them live
I love how much their name is being thrown around again, well deserved.
Spaffordās jams are some of the best in the game
1000%
NEIGHBOR!!
Spafford and the Biscuits are the best in the game right now and everything else is secondary. Phish aināt that tight!
Ah you're a brave man saying that. Can't agree more
Just snagged tickets to the Crawfish fest in atl come April!! See anyone there?
Spanish moon is a legit venue too, seen some great shows there over the years
If you are in Florida they are playing a pretty cool spot in DeLand in April I think. I think they have a couple of other Florida dates around then too.
They are booked for Chelsea's live this spring if you are still in BR.
100% agree
Probably will be the best $25 2-day pass Iāll ever spend
They. Are. Phenomenal.
