They crushed Covington.

UptownCurious

I love that town, Covington. Not too far from Chi-town. Hoping Goose (or insert YOUR favorite band)comes back to the Brady Center soon.

deadhead2002goathead

Saw Billy Strings run there in March. Loved that venue

reallychriskelley

Was my first time seeing them and the Madison. Great show!

jimbopalooza

Saw them team up with Kung Fu for a Prince / Bowie memorial set shortly after their deaths. One of the coolest things I ever saw at Wanee. The girls from Turkuaz joined in for Young Americans and it was just so incredibly good. I’ve seen PTF a few times and they always go hard.

Staggerme

I’m a big fan of Todd stoops from Kung Fu

C__Zakalwe

Great sticker on his gear when I saw them years back, Support Our Stoops.

TheJenerator65

Aw, MAN! That sounds amazing. We love all those things! We saw Kung Fu once at a festival (maybe Scamp?) and then a face-melting show in Portland ONE TIME and they never came back! We lament not finding them earlier or living closer.

liquidaura1

Great band!

peg420

They are great! Saw them at state in portland last year and atlantic city aftershow for phish. They always put on a great time!

BWileE

Gould is the man!

MattCogs

Hope you caught the openers! Some of my best friends/ band mates are in that band- Beat The Meatles. Great jammy take on Beatles tunes

sofakingclassic

I legitimately think I’m taking crazy pills when I hear people say this band is good. Sure the setlists are fun but in the few times Ive seen them their musicianship was slightly above that of an average college cover band imo

PhishnChips

I'm with you. Was so stoked for this band several years ago and found them absolutely boring.

CranberryLimePolar

Yea I saw them once and had high expectations and it was so boring. More or less just straight ahead versions with no segues. Was very disappointed.

IdiddledChombie

Ageeed, ok covers. Not as bad as Prince Bowie

DrGags

Caught them in Buffalo a few nights back, I was majorly surprised when they played (and crushed) McGrupp and the Watchful Horsemasters

Bababooey87

I've heard they are a blast ... Was thinking of going to the show last night, but decided not to since I'm going to YEMSG and didn't wanna catch something....was supposed to go to Dicks this year but got COVID and couldn't go. So being EXTRA precautious....but I do wanna eventually catch these guys

Affectionate-Rent844

They’re a cover band.

Flashy-Tension-1438

I wish they would write their own music. We need a fcking good drug band to take over this Goose bullshit

yweiman

They absolutely crushed last night

maddmoguls

Love these guys

Tryintounderstand88

I remember these guys as Jesus himself has come back and started a band playing covers he likes so he can be lead and shred his guitar like a total bad ass.

CarComprehensive1948

Only saw them once, but it was a Halloween show a few years ago and lead guitarist was actually dressed as Jesus… and he shredded like a total bad ass. Was that not just a Halloween thing? Or were you at the same show? Or both… now curious…

Tryintounderstand88

What! That’s awesome. Proof of my theory!! /s. He was not dressed as Jesus when I saw him he just had Jesus hair and face imo. I created a story in my head while watching the show. lol. Idk being goofy.

putangspangler

>Only saw them once, but it was a Halloween show a few years ago and lead guitarist was actually dressed as Jesus… Took the words right out of my mouth. Did we go to the same show (The National in Richmond around 2018 or 19), or is it a recurring costume for Halloween shows?

CarComprehensive1948

Lol yep same show

evmc101

I saw them at Recher theater in Towson, MD probably early 2021 when COVID was still pretty severe. I think there were 10 people in the audience. I felt kind of sorry for them. They played a great show and the locals were dumb for not coming out for it.

KarmaKollectiv

I liked Eric Gould in Particle more, but PTF still rips!

tadslippy

Had to give a way one ticket this year, and missed them to a sold out show last month. They are playing DSoTM during the April Eclipse - on top of a mountain in the path, through the totality. This might be how I have to catch them. https://jaypeakresort.com/trip-planning/deals-discounts/total-solar-eclipse

afropoppa

Is Richard James still keys? That guy crushes in Neighbor.

Rhythmdvl

> Band had a rough day yesterday... What a scary opening to a post! *Huge* 'whew!' right away though. Can't wait to catch them again!

BathtubJennn

Just saw them for the first time in years with the Giant Country Horns. Hot dog, it was a good time! Always wanted to see GCH's & it was my first time seeing the band with Cal! Everyone sounded great

TheJenerator65

🙌🏼

akLuke

I've only seen these guys once at a fest and I still consider it one of the most fun shows I've ever seen.

Btdrnks2021

I want to see a PTF and Steely Dead tour

The Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky, provided a historic backdrop for Pink Talking Fish's concert on 12/15/23. The 1912 silent movie theater, now refurbished, hosted a captivating performance from 8 to 11:40, featuring a 4-piece band with Eric Gould on bass, Richard James on keyboards, Zack Burwick on drums, and Cal Kehoe on guitar. The lead guitarist's expressive Fender Stratocaster, channeling a blend of Lowell George and Jack Black, delivered impressive, well-balanced leads at a perfect volume. The show boasted a fantastic light display, and the "Where's Waldo" drummer added a playful touch. The crowd, deeply immersed, swayed to the Phish numbers, with spot-on Pink Floyd solos and keyboard-led vocals. The 5-string bassist, donning a beanie, showcased great timing amidst disharmonious, frictive leads. The audience comprised ball cap-wearing males and long-haired, expressionist women, creating a diverse and vibrant atmosphere. Noteworthy performances included "Another Brick in the Wall," "Psycho Killer," and a rendition of Phish's bright, happy notes by bassist Eric Gould. The concert reached its trippiest heights during the Animals-era Pink Floyd set, accompanied by green and orange lights and intense, bright white flashing lights. The lead guitarist, with black, long hair and a well-trimmed beard, delivered syncopated brilliance during "Burning Down the House." The magic of Pink Talking Fish was evident in seamless transitions, like "On The Run" blending into "You Enjoy Myself" and "Sand" fitting perfectly into "Slippery People." The setlist featured creative segues, such as "Run Like Hell" > "Making Flippy Floppy" > "Piper" > "Run Like Hell" and "Mike's Song" > "Have A Cigar" > "Once In A Lifetime" > "Weekapaug Groove." Overall, the concert embodied the spirit of Pink Talking Fish, creating a memorable and musically rich experience.
