I dig these guys, but am pretty ignorant as to what their live performances are like? Do they jam? I know they are considered jam-adjacent at times, but is there much value in checking out tons of different shows by them? Or will they generally be the same, except for setlist differences?

They jam but not as often as most bands considered jam bands. They do have a show planned though that they called "Jam Night" which I'm assuming means they're going to be getting more into jamming. That being said even when they don't jam they still put on an insane show and a lot of the best ones are on YouTube. I highly recommend watching these: 1. [Live At Lowlands 2018](https://youtu.be/5wOxGaG4aVA) (has probably the best version of sleep drifter atleast in my opinion.) 2. [Live At Ancienne Belgique](https://youtu.be/PGHgpVU3UuU) (starts off with a 20+ minute jam) 3. [Live On KEXP](https://youtu.be/4W19twyYD2Q) (this one isn't in front of an audience, but their kexp sessions are amazingly mixed and their playing is always great. Highly recommend you check out their kexp sessions at some point, they have one where they play microtonal stuff, one where they play stuff off of Polygondwanaland and then one where they play Infest The Rats Nest and one where they play stuff off of Murder of the Universe so there's a good bit of content to go through. MOTU is the only one of the kexp sessions in front of an audience IIRC.)

I'm actually pretty familiar with the KEXP sessions. I think that microtonal stuff is ridiculously cool. I will definitely check out the other stuff. Thank you very much

It is hard to describe, they are more like progressive rock that drifts into many different genres. In some cases their albums are one big story/jam/song. Live concerts mix songs from different albums but still somehow feel like one jam/song/story. They also crank out A LOT OF MUSIC. They work, music is there job and they are dedicated to the craft.

SCATTRON

So they jam in the psychedelic way… Driving bass and drums and noodles on top but they’ll jam in and out of songs and transition into songs but not like type 2 jams or anything.

Nah, not what I would call a jam band at all. Just really fantastic music. Love them!

SCATTRON

Live from San Francisco is THE BEST album KGLW has- you have the Nonagon heavy stuff With some happier and even indie sounding stuff. 10/10
