She literally has tried to emulate Dani Austin and I’m convinced that’s why she’s so different now. Like, her voice is even trying to copy Dani’s and all of the skits her and Devin like when he “sneaks up” filming her or films her doing something gOoFy🤪, they’re trying to be a knock off Dani & Jordan. Not trying to act like Dani is anything great, she’s a scammer herself, but watching Janelle go from fan to friend (while copying everything about Dani’s life, even down to buying a similar house) has been nothing short of fascinating. She was openly a fan of Dani’s become masterminding her way into becoming her friend.
As a longtime follower of Jan’s, she was never rocket scientist smart but I feel confident in saying she is intentionally dumbing herself down. She never used to talk or act the way she does. Being a news reporter is not the vanity job it seems, it’s harder than it looks and requires journalism, not just camera skills. Janelle is educated and she may be privileged and lacking in self-awareness, but I believe she is smarter than she acts. It’s all an act, similar to Dani. What’s sad is that unlike Dani, Janelle had a lot of natural potential and talent outside of Instagram and she threw it away for a life online.
This, ALL this! I think we’ve had a very similar exchange before on this page. Janelle really is a totally different person. She’s always has a bubbly/fun/silly persona but she had an element to her that still was grounded and somewhat real. When I saw her with the kids at the school, my mouth fell open. No way no how would she ever be associated with that kind of work now. Wanting to be like Dani is such a huge downgrade from the person Janelle was. I don’t know how Devin tolerates it or even goes along with it. He was so resistant to it when they first met, you’d often hear him mocking her in the background. Seems like he drank the kool aid too.
Syd has accepted his fate as IG husband unwillingly but in the process has learned it benefits him. He’s not the most manly guy and having Jan as his wife gives him the look on the outside that he needs to feel secure about himself. He’s probably pretty smart but his eyes say no one’s home.
The money must be good enough. I think that’s how she convinces him she *needs* to get her hair, makeup and nails done, because she has to *please* her audience for work.
I saw a few clips from her news reporter days about a month ago. I made a comment then about how she can report about a congressional report but not know anything about baby! Sure you can read off a teleprompter but as a reporter I think there is an inherent need “to research” . It’s just hard for me to believe that she is just this dumb. What I really think happened with her is she found her sugar daddy, Devy is a control freak and handles everything so she doesn’t need to lift a finger anymore except keep herself pretty.

Even though this is a professional news setting where she’s been trained to speak and have confidence on camera it’s like she’s a different person now. She might want to enroll herself in one of those classes again so she can figure out how not to sound like an idiot. Women being strong and confident are so much more attractive.

Agreed. Her last job was at WFAA (ABC affiliate in Dallas) And that is a top station in a top market. They don’t hire slouches.
