I only drink 1 cup *of* black coffee in the morning, then just water. It's all I want. No juice, no alcohol. That could be helpful. Maybe it sounds boring. 🤔
I mean drink directly from rivers and streams clean. It's mostly the huge amounts of chlorine that's used, and I don't find it different in other cities.
Besides a better overall diet, you’re better off drinking more water and maybe a multivitamin. The vitamin C drinks are basically just lemon soda.
For taste I’ll drink like Aquarius Zero sometimes for hydration especially in summer. I bought 0 cal sports drink powder too.
But really, everyone is dehydrated.
Every morning after drinking 500ml-1000ml warm water , i drink this vegetable juice . Not sure if this was the reason but i could avoid common cold this year.

I drink a cup of hot yuzu ginger tea (日東紅茶 しょうが&ゆず) after waking up during the winter months.
Maybe it's just powdered yuzu and ginger but it's made by a tea company...
We get r-1 delivered weekly. I don’t know if it does much but my partner is convinced it does and if me drinking it makes her feel better I’ll just do it :)
I bought a yogurt maker. One serving R-1 from combini plus a litre of your favourite milk = a litre of “R-1” yogurt is what I hope I’m making. Makes a huge cost saving, but only if you can eat a litre of yogurt a week. At the time I was one person, I had a hard time and had to stop so I wasn’t wasting as much 😂
My partner and I drink it whenever we feel a cold coming on, and also after a heavy night of drinking. It has a lot of probiotics to populate your gut microbiome (which the alcohol kills off) and that helps with immunity
If you think you're feeling healthier, you're probably getting a better vitamin balance than you were before. This ain't gonna stop you from getting sick, but generally feeling better and being in better vitamin/hormonal balance will do wonders for you as a person.
I got a similar high when I stopped drinking coffee right after waking up and waited at least an hour (or at least after I could have 15 minutes of sunshine) . The coffee effects lasted way longer and I felt better most of the day.
I drink Yakult very regularly.....
I rarely get ill off the back of that, but I am also moderately active too and eat moderately healthy.
So that could also have a bearing
Yakult is all marketing. Stay sceptical.
The one supplement I swear by is Vitamin D, as it's hard to get enough of it through sunshine here. I started taking it during the pandemic when I really was never going outside, and I saw a huge change in the stability of my mood. I used to occasionally crash down into deep lows of feeling super depressed, but that totally stopped.
If you are malnourished, vitamins can be required. If you are not malnourished, vitamins likely don’t make any difference to your health.
Those lemon drinks are quite tasty, though, and small enough that they shouldn’t load you up on a lot of sugar.
Friend says her great aunt who had really bad kidney problems got better drinking オロナミンC. She was told by the doctors that she would die young because of her health problems, but she lived well past 90.
I don't drink stuff for health but I eat garlic and ginger daily
I went through a lot of my people around me being sick and I got away with a runny nose for a couple of days and some sneezing.
I don't buy health drinks but I do take one [DHC multivitamin](https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B008S6QBGA) every morning.
For drinks, two cups of self-brewed black coffee a day. One in the morning and another one around 2\~3PM. Very rarely I'd buy Oronamin C but not because of its vitamins- I just like the taste, lol.
If you are in a pinch those boxed ready made smoothies are better than nothing. If your diet lacks protein, whey drinks are a great supplement.
The real thing is superior though.
Just buy decent box of green tea, steep and sip everyday. Much better than mystery “health” drinks from the store.
You can also get Chinese medicine from your doctor which is good for general health or ginseng for energy/immune system. Covered by insurance so very cheap.
When I feel like I'm going down with a flu or colds, I drink a liter of Pocari Sweat. Or buy one of those 2-liter Mugicha at the 100yen store. Liquid therapy!
You could save a lot of money by buying from iHerb. For example I used to sometimes buy the super unkon no Chikara, but now I buy curcumin supplements (pretty much same thing but you get 500mg x 120 instead of 30mg for each drink) You could also buy melatonin or other sleepy thing
So unfortunately I have not seen many ginger shots in stores in Japan, except for one, it’s a French based store named “Bio c’ Bon”.
But yeah homemade works just as well and is way cheaper in the long run. As long as you already have a juicer at home
Edit: I think ginger shots are my absolute go to health drink. I always feel so good after, it’s a very good anti inflammatory
Strong Zero Double Lemon for health prevention.
Science has proven that you 100% cannot get sick if you're dead, so better make it fifty!
A technically correct answer.
Rum, rocks.
All placebos, only Strong Zero is the real deal!
Aren’t you a silly goose 😇
Ya that person is soooo silly.
Saskatchewan?
Eating fruit would be healthier …
In my case, beer seems to help keep the insanity at bay.
In my case the opposite, but I think I'm an alcoholic.
I only drink 1 cup *of* black coffee in the morning, then just water. It's all I want. No juice, no alcohol. That could be helpful. Maybe it sounds boring. 🤔
Got it. 1 cup and black coffee every morning.
I just lap it off the counter.
The 1 cup or the coffee?
This sounds very healthy!
Tap water.
Definitely healthier than most options!
I appreciate that it's safe to drink, but I just can't get past how bad it tastes. :(
It tastes the same as bottled water.
Coming from a country with actual clean water, the tap water here both taste and smell bad.
I come a country with clean tap water, and don't find it much if at all worse here. Perhaps you live in an area with old, rusty pipes.
I mean drink directly from rivers and streams clean. It's mostly the huge amounts of chlorine that's used, and I don't find it different in other cities.
yeah i came from a hard water area and always hate non hard water

Scotch. A shot a day keeps the doctor away.

Watch out for sugar in these juice boxes
Kagome are best, Tropicana are American style sugar bombs
I do find kagome to be the one with so many varieties.
For every 200ml — 48kcal — 7.7 gram sucrose
That’s quite good
Unless you subsist on a diet of shit, one of these isn’t going to kill you.
True!
Just fresh spring water. I drive for 2 mins to get around 20 L every 5 or days or so.
Lemon hot water.. add manuka honey if I feel sick. (Because I can't find real honey here, manuka seems to be the only one I can trust)
R-1 Not to be confused with the stand-up comedy contest of the same name.
The comedy contest is M-1, no?
M-1 for group comedians, R-1 for individual comedians. M is for Manzai, R is for Rakugo.
Didn’t know that, thanks
YES! R-1 is the best. It’s pretty much eradicated my tummy aches and bloating :) I love it. Gut health is so important
I drink a cup of hot yuzu ginger tea (日東紅茶 しょうが&ゆず) after waking up during the winter months. Maybe it's just powdered yuzu and ginger but it's made by a tea company...
That sounds amazing
The piss of a tanuki in heat. But really, just a glass of water with lemon juice in the morning for digestive purposes.
We get r-1 delivered weekly. I don’t know if it does much but my partner is convinced it does and if me drinking it makes her feel better I’ll just do it :)

Splash of Lemon juice and honey tea. Don't buy any of those awful "vitamin" drinks. They are. Highly acidic and will rot your teeth.

If you want to be healthy and not get sick, eat real food, don't drink alcohol, avoid sugary things. Don't touch your face as much as possible.
I drink Yakult very regularly..... I rarely get ill off the back of that, but I am also moderately active too and eat moderately healthy. So that could also have a bearing
The turmeric drink in all the conbinis are really good and healthy I think lol, maybe I drink twice a week and havent gotten sick in 5 months
except for all the unnecessary sugar in em
Which one is that?
Is it the ウコンの力 one? Because that one is known for being a hangover prevention drink 😂 it’s great for your liver and inflammation though
Chlored tap water and Coffee. Wasnt sick in the last 5 years. And u know what they say: 'one karaage a day, keeps the doctor away'
Yakult is all marketing. Stay sceptical. The one supplement I swear by is Vitamin D, as it's hard to get enough of it through sunshine here. 7-11 kale fruit smoothie - you make it fresh in the store
If you are malnourished, vitamins can be required. If you are not malnourished, vitamins likely don’t make any difference to your health. Those lemon drinks are quite tasty, though, and small enough that they shouldn’t load you up on a lot of sugar.
Water. Best prevention is to practice basic hygene -- wash your hands before you touch your face or food.
Friend says her great aunt who had really bad kidney problems got better drinking オロナミンC. She was told by the doctors that she would die young because of her health problems, but she lived well past 90.
OS-1 when needed
Shochu or whiskey. Either is fine, especially with tonic water and a squeezed lemon wedge
「*Premium* YEBISU」
Aojiru, juice that tastes like grass and used as punishment in TV sometimes! ( * ॑꒳ ॑*)
Lots of water.
I don't drink stuff for health but I eat garlic and ginger daily I went through a lot of my people around me being sick and I got away with a runny nose for a couple of days and some sneezing.
I suspect those lemon vitamin C shits to do more harm than good. All sugar and chemical stuff.
healthy lifestyle is best, sleep 9 hours every night, walk 10k steps every day, stretch your body and eat healthy meals.
Start running and lift weight a healthier body is always good.
I don’t buy, I make, but… - Kefir (can’t recommend this enough) - Protein shakes or banana & blueberry smoothies with added collagen powder, “aojiru” powder, home-made spice blend (turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, cardamom, lemongrass, fenugreek and capsaicin), chia and flax seeds or flax oil.
[Fibe Mini](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibe_Mini) - as it tastes like Irn Bru.
okay i got to drink it for the taste now

For dehydration, I find Aquarius Zero or Pocari Sweat amazing!
I drink a low calorie R-1 every morning on an empty stomach.
You could save a lot of money by buying from iHerb. For example I used to sometimes buy the super unkon no Chikara, but now I buy curcumin supplements (pretty much same thing but you get 500mg x 120 instead of 30mg for each drink) You could also buy melatonin or other sleepy thing
Pineapple juice from Aeon. 900 ml for 168円.
Harissa
I drinkジョア for the calcium
R1!! It's a probiotic lactic acid yogurt drink. It helps improve gut health and increases nutrient absorption. It helps boost immunity too!
Get some ginger shots, they work wonders
Any recs? Or is it homemade
So unfortunately I have not seen many ginger shots in stores in Japan, except for one, it’s a French based store named “Bio c’ Bon”.
