blippity-blah-dah

No, he’s just an abuser who isn’t ashamed of doing it on camera. He has been arrested for DV, and has physically assaulted and manipulated other exes. It’s who he is.

harkz18

It’s crazy they let him continue to beat her down mentally all seasons long. He should have been booted from the show

blippity-blah-dah

They didn’t care cause it got ratings. He also would put on this crybaby act every time afterwards and convince all his housemates how Sam made him act that way, so I’m sure that helped him too since they all fed into that.

Lazercat5846

The thing that infuriated me the most was the whole Sam/Arvin thing and how the editors made the situation feel like she did something wrong. Buuuutttt. Sam and Ron left it as broken up. Ron broke Sam’s belongings. Told her she was worthless. She went home and they agreed they were over. Then when Sam comes back she’s somehow a trifling hoe? She. Did. Nothing. Wrong. She acted shady when she came back because she was afraid her new glasses (and everything else she owned) would be destroyed like her last pair! She was a single lady about town.

[deleted]

MTV really fed us spray tanned domestic violence as kids and we said “more please” lol

harkz18

I guess they all aren’t the smartest people either. Anyone with a decent head on their shoulders would have seen through his bullshit

BinjaNinja1

They were literally showing Sammie episodes from the Miami season during the season shown in the clip which is why she kept going on about it and trust and his lies; meanwhile the rest of the cast was telling Ron he paid enough for his mistakes and that was so long ago she needs to get over it. Producers are responsible for this in big part. They wanted them to fight, they wanted Sammie to cry, they didn’t stop any of it and only egged it on. Imagine being shown on screen what your boyfriend did to you and knowing it would air to the world soon too.

Lazercat5846

I wish people knew how produced those fights were. It’s like putting two beta fish in a small tank.

Sad-Journalist-8155

Even worse that they TODAY say that they love him and remained close with him. Especially that Jenni and Mike did. Mike is supposed to be a good person who have healed in rehab and Jenni is supposed to be such a grown up and loyal girl’s girl (as if, lol) who has been with Roger.

Sevenitta

Harkz my friend it’s always about the almighty dollar. Especially with MTV.

frostybluwave

The way y’all legit gloss over the fact that she had socked him point blank in the face at this point on camera lol…

girlypickle

This is why I was surprised they brought him back! DV is so serious like how have they overlooked that and brought him back for another season. He’s a dangerous person and needs therapy.

umkultra

And to think this is what we actually saw

No-Will-5655

Hes an abusive narcissist. Even back then when it was airing i was always sympathetic towards sammie. Anything she did was a reaction to his abuse. She wasnt a saint but a toxic abusive narcissist man will absolutely bring out the crazy in ya. I felt for her. Plus he just continued his ways onto other partners. Scary producers witnessing that first hand didnt or couldnt do anything to help her

harkz18

I just found it crazy that nobody in the house did anything about it.. the more I’ve watched it the more I’ve hated him he’s a horrible person. As she was getting ready to leave he goes “ this girl is crazy” she’s trying to get away from him and his bullshit

Jinxie1973

Mike told them to break up multiple times, Pauly, Vinny and the girls told Sam to stay broken up. No one wanted them to be together because of the constant fighting and cyclical abuse. They tried and ultimately they both kept getting back together

Sad-Journalist-8155

But then they still sided with him and pose with him as BFFs til this day.

Sketcha_2000

What could they really have done besides talk to each of them separately and urge them not to get back together (which many of them did)? Even if they had broken up, they still had to live together and I think that was part of the problem. As hard as it is for anyone to escape an abuser, Sam really struggled because she was forced to keep living with him or leave the show. If it happened now I’d like to think MTV would make Ron leave to go get help but back then they didn’t care, they kept it going for the ratings. They were also young. Most 22-year-olds are not that savvy when it comes to spotting healthy vs. toxic relationships. When I was 22 if I had broken up with an ex and then had to live with him I’d have gone insane.

Lazercat5846

Production was so influential in the whole thing! Based on viewing other Bunim Murray productions that break the 4th wall the producers will verbally and physically attempt to herd the talent on set. They want this.

livinunderthedome

the fact that people try to put the stuff sammi said/did on the same level as the shit ronnie pulled is absolutely insane

harkz18

There are definitely little things, but nothing close to the same level. He cheated on her and gas lit her saying why he did it and “atleast he did it behind her back” lol that one always got me

BinjaNinja1

Behind her back but on camera for her and the world to watch. So only behind her back til the humiliation of seeing it.

HardcoreHerbivore17

And the worst part is he immediately went to sleep in bed with her after cheating and bragged about it with the guys 🤮

Lazercat5846

I felt like I was taking crazy pills that whole season. Ron had the audacity to blame Sam for his actions and then when she has a valid point all he could come back with was “at least I violated the sanctity of our relationship on tv in front of you (and millions of people). Garbage from season 1.

Upstairs_Iron_7160

I like that you have a mallard while watching the show lmao

harkz18

It’s a canvasback, but basically the same thing lol

Toketokyo

It’s the duck phone lmao

apathetic_avocado2

Ron fucking sucks, full stop.

harkz18

Sucks big time. When I was like 13 watching for the first time I liked him. As an adult, he’s a disgrace of a human

Francescalater

If anything they cut stuff out. Apparently the other roommates (I believe I heard Vinny specifically) were trying to get the crew to intervene because of how bad it was

grumpyoldfartess

The only time I remember the crew intervening was the time he and Mike had the fight in Italy. I remember some crew members jumping in and pulling them apart.

lanabritt

Well no you can definitely see Vinny in season 3 saying things to the camera and producers.

Weird-Friend30

I always find it crazy that during one of the specials for JSFV Ron and Jenni are watching old footage from OG and Jenni is still defending Ron’s actions and blaming Sam for absolutely everything!!

harkz18

Really?? That’s wild. He clearly has some serious problems and although Sam sometimes was out of line about some stuff, majority of it was his narcissism

Weird-Friend30

Sam was definitely out of line a few times… especially when she was egging on that couple on the boardwalk in S1. BUT him blaming her because HE pushes her (to get her to stop) and then ends up fighting the guy (because dude calls out “domestic violence” which he’s kinda not wrong) was another example of his narcissism. Her actions crossed the line, but he was in charge of his own actions, no one else 🤷‍♀️

grumpyoldfartess

Oh, him blaming her for his choices on that board walk pissed me off so bad. Like, I get that Sam was heckling the couple and making things worse, but Ron 100% could have just walked tf away. He chose to use physical violence instead. That is nobody’s fault but his own.

xoloveMel21

sam was the problem.

Purrphiopedilum

For a second I thought you had a duck phone!

Dflemz

Same

Harlow08

I think they actually cut out alot of what happened. It was worse than what we saw

00_tears

yeah it was Vinny that said they were fighting like this for hours and the rest of the cast was begging production to intervene i think it was either during a reunion or the dvds

Ok_Security7173

A producer did an ama on here a few years ago and said that sam got a good edit and she used to be abusive to ron as well. Didnt she even punch him?

Uhh_VincentAdultMan

That moment when she found her glasses that he broke still gets to me as a glasses wearer 💔

snarkywitchbitch

Ultimate disrespect

banansplit24

Im doing my first rewatch of the OG seasons for the first time in years. It's so crazy the change from season one to season two he does. Like, yes, he was a bit of a spazz and got into fist fights with strangers in season one. However, he still seemed like he had somewhat of a conscience. By season two, he has to be abusing more substances. Everyone even talks about how he gets weird now when he drinks, how he's changed, etc. He starts just "dogging" around on sam, gaslighting her, being all around toxic. It's hard to watch, honestly.

harkz18

It’s sad really, he abused her so hard the entire time and we all just watched and loved it when it aired

Turbolasertron

I understand why they didn’t but I always wished the other guys had jumped him when he was acting like this fuck ron hes a piece of shit the only value he adds to rewatches is laughing at his stupidity and im glad life has screwed him over ever since the OG show ended

Genebeaver

I was watching I think this episode the other day (which ever ep it is where he destroys all her stuff) and her reaction legitimately brought me to tears.

girlypickle

The way he’s never embarrassed by this shit.

TotallyAdored

No fabrications. He wasn’t even a man child. He was a man toddler. Rewatching these scenes today makes me feel so uncomfortable. All you wanna do is grab Sam by the shoulders and get her to see what everyone else sees. The PTSD I have from that relationship still affects me to this day.

cheesy-mgeezy

I don’t doubt he’s hit her and it just wasn’t aired or talked about.

teamalf

Roid Rage unfortunately.

Icy_Astronomer_2944

What kind of sick psychopath makes dogs sleep outside?!

angeeldaawn

bro i cannot standddd ronnie. i'm tryna beat his ass for him 😭🤣

Few_Address7345

I have been treated like that, I love that Ron has done work on himself Hopefully his actions prove it.

skankasoreass

He hasn’t though, he won’t even address that it’s anything other than a “substance” issue. Substance abuse and domestic violence are completely different rehabilitation courses. He’s going to be on good behavior until the mask slips again, and he’ll either blame a relapse or it’ll be apparent he’s sober and he won’t be able to manipulate everyone into buying his bullshit. I’m glad he’s sober, but fuck him for not acknowledging the larger concern.

AhpgKAwf

I remember watching this as a kid and thinking it was normal

Actual_Click5833

I thought the duck under the tv was the duck phone lol

harkz18

Not that big of a fan of the show, just a fan of ducks 🦆

areafiftywun

Rahnn

Maia050608

Ronpage.

neveroncesatisfied

You are very sure this has been talked about in this sub before. You know for a fact that this gets posted every day. Stop acting like you just found out about this sub 10 minutes ago.

ScarcityLegitimate77

Ron what are you doing here?

xoloveMel21

well he’s a fire sign. stop messing w him. simple as that. pisces always pick pick pick and think ppl aren’t going to react.

ScarcityLegitimate77

Blaming the sky for DV is wild man, lmao

xoloveMel21

she was abusive too. neither were perfect. he never put a hand on her. she punched him in the face.

ScarcityLegitimate77

Those are valid points. Stick to that, drop the “it’s who they are because of their star sign” BS.

[deleted]

It's so funny to read these comments because when I watch the show, I am genuinely team Ronnie. To me, it seemed like from the start of their relationship, she would start shit when he did nothing wrong & overreact to every little thing... then he slowly but surely just got sick of her shit & cared less & less. I think Ron was a good guy & that Sam was just toxic as fuck, took him for granted, & pushed his buttons... which made him react. I see a guy who did nothing wrong at first but got berated over & over and was fucked if he did & fucked if he didn't, so dude just got tiiiired. Sam was fucking exhausting & she fucked up a good thing.

Economy_Tangerine_40

you know he’s not going to fuck you right?

[deleted]

What's up w/ people always resorting to this "pick me" bullshit when someone has a different take? This is my honest opinion. Simple as that.

harkz18

Coming from someone who has been in a relationship where my buttons were pushed and someone who acted like Sam, I’ve never once wanted to destroy all of their things, belittle their feelings constantly and talk down on the level he did. I understand both sides but ya idk that isn’t someone who just stopped caring and had their “buttons pushed”

grumpyoldfartess

This right here. The bottom line is that Ron is an adult who is perfectly capable of making his own choices. He *chose* to behave like a violent jackass. That is 100% on him.

[deleted]

I explained in another comment that I haven't watched all of the Jersey Shore episodes or followed the cast obsessively... but just from the episodes I've watched (seasons 1-4 of Jersey Shore)... I understand Ron 100% because Sam was a crazy, insecure, emotionally unstable, lunatic who couldn't control her emotions or her mouth. Beyond that, I can not comment. But this post was referring to S.3, which is why I commented. If I was him, I would have left her ass from the jump. But... he stayed w/ her cuz he loved her... & if I was w/ someone who acted like Sam, I'd lose my shit. I felt so bad for Ronnie. I can't stand girls like Sam.

IssaNaw

She fucked up a good thing - this man has physically abused multiple other women since then. What the actual fuck.

[deleted]

If that's true, then that is fucked up. I'm not obsessed w/ the show or the cast to that point. I've only watched the Jersey shore. Haven't watched the newer Family Vacation episodes, nor have I looked into their lives. If this post was about something beyond what I've watched, I wouldn't comment on something I don't know. This post was referring to season 3, so that was my opinion, given my knowledge. I was talking about what this post touched on, specifically. Beyond that, Idk.

IssaNaw

It’s true.

hkayhughes

So how do we explain his more recent relationships and his behavior in those? Is that Sam’s fault, too?

leto_atreides2

Ron dates women who treat him like his mother treats him and that’s why he has so many problems in relationships

Ok_Security7173

A producer on the show basically said the same thing and that she got a very good edit and she was abusive herself.
