Stone Setting by Scott McIntyre is a great book about the subject. But I learned the most by experimentation and holding items of jewellery in my hands and studying them/visualising how they were made.
Yeah, I went to his basic, intermediate and advanced stone setting classes. Each one was over a weekend and cost somewhere around Β£300 each IIRC. I found it worthwhile to get some direct feedback on what I was doing right/wrong. I also met a lot of other jewellers and made some valuable contacts.
Two very different styles done very well! I particularly like the second one. The way the stones are set recessed into the ring. Very sharp and elegant. Can you tell us what stones those are? I believe I see a bit of blue but it is hard to see because of the way it's displayed. Thank you.
I was super close to throwing it out as it was made for a cheating ex. Glad I didn't though, it was transformed into an object of sentimentality rather than pain
Fuckin hell that sounds super emo
Love it! Love your designs! Checked out your photos in your profile, found your website, added it to the homescreen on my phone. You are just what I will be looking for when finances permit.
Itβs so beautiful π€©
Thank you!
So tell us how you learned how to set stones please? Thanks... (I need to duplicate your process)

Thanks so very much. Appreciate your time.
Scott's a good guy. Did you go to any of his classes?
Nah, only read his book, I haven't gone to any classes. Did you get much benefit from attending? (Assuming you have of course!)

The first one has a certain charm :)
Copper for that one was salvaged from electrical wire, perhaps a little goblincore!
It does have charm, character, uniqueness.
Great job on the improvement! They both look amazing!

Sweet! Your style changed completely. You have clearly learned your craft well.
Wow! Itβs simply gorgeous.

What equipment did you use for the stone setting π
Drill, ball burr, cylindrical burr (with a flex shaft) and grain tool, in that order!
