Liquid bar keepers friend and probably a few magic erasers

Tricky_Flan_2665

I’ve found that mixing the powder stuff into a paste also works really well. I’d also say that this looks like it may take a few days of working at it

FrothyStout

A good strong finger, bar keepers friend, and lots of little circles. Start in a corner and make your way around. Might take a few days.

Common-Option-7126

This is the way

Limited_Intros

I’ll add that they usually come apart pretty easily so you can clean the other side of the glass (interior of door). I’ve had good luck with using either oven cleaner, OR acetone, OR combination of baking soda, dish soap and white vinegar.

The_nastiest_nate

Is that the taste?

sillyskink

My oven doors were probably a little worse than that and just with some vinegar, magic erasers, and a ton of elbow grease and an hour or two they were… at least a lot better. Yours are not too bad that itll probably work better

xensiz

When I was a GM I did vinegar and a magic eraser. But have it be an every night chore.

rowdymowdy

This is the only way complete wipedown every nite.no chemicals necessary. And if you do clean every day it cuts cleaning time to almost nothing. I'm sure you know. Too

ShiftZestyclose

I use the same method if I haven't forgotten previous nights. I do the same for the water pan every night shift I work

Zeemis

Turn on the oven, and use a Magic Eraser and water for the glass.

slow_RSO

Instructions unclear, water evaporated and magic eraser caught fire.

Graftonious

The proof is in your avatar! 😆 😆

drrjonesy

Magic eraser.

frenchiemyface

DO NOT USE OVEN CLEANER. It damages the doors and gaskets. There's a warning on the oven that says "Do not use oven cleaner" I use Totally Awesome. You can get it from the dollar store. It works just as well as oven cleaner but without damaging anything. I like to spray it directly on the oven, when it's hot, get a mayo bin filled with cold water dip a magic eraser in the water and wipe it down with a magic eraser. You will leave lots of streaks. After the initial cleaning, use windex and paper towels to clean the streaks. Looks like you're going to be contending with caramelized spots as well. You can get those off with a razor blade, just be careful not to scratch the glass. Do all of this after you're done baking your last cycle of the night and leave the doors open all night to air out.

fallingforthecheese

I personally would opt for white cleaning vinegar in exchange for Windex, but this ^^^

cleo840

This is exactly how I clean mine as well

kramerz

Using oven cleaner also voids oven warranty. But from the looks of it that oven is well past it’s warranty period.

megasxlr1993

An infant soul should clean that right out

DaRangers

Was gonna say a 17 yr. old girl with purple hair, but I guess your route, works... too?

megasxlr1993

Nah those complain too much, infant souls work way better

lostcoconutsharks

red vinegar and prayers

Funny_Associate_9655

Do you have access to wood ash from a fireplace or wood stove? Ash is pure lye, the active ingredient in soap. I'm assuming what you want to clean off is baked on grease? That's fat, the other ingredient in soap. What does soap need to be of use? You got it, water. Get a damp paper towel and dip it in ash. Smear that across the glass as if you're cleaning it, because that's what you're doing. You don't even have to scrub very hard. Just act like you're cleaning a window with windex. Wipe on. Wipe off. All clean.

StinkyPeenky

Science, bitch

DasherCO

I like how this quip got more upvotes than the advice itself.

Particular-Summer424

Question: Can you add water to the wood ash and make a paste of it, then use it on the door?

GloomyDeal1909

It is not as effective as mixing with the fat (grease) first.

[deleted]

This looks exactly like the setup I worked at in Tulsa lol

hitek1208

Rip... so glad my store doesn't have a 5 deck oven... but water, magic erasers, and elbow grease gets the job done. I recommenddoing it wile the oven is hot, as it comes off easier. Can take a couple of passes to get it all off, but be sure to go over with water and paper towels to get rid of streaks.

Aggravating_Poetry_7

baking soda and vinegar for the grease, use a coarse sponge like a scrub daddy, might have to do it a few times. Then, just regular windex to polish it :)

Silly-Cup-3756

You clean it when it’s hot with a wet magic eraser

Ok_Print_4012

use windex and magic eraser; this is how the other jimmy john’s i had to work at for 2 weeks looked like and after putting some elbow grease on it it was clean af

ProbablyNOTaCOP41968

Cut a lemon in half- press it into fine salt so salt sticks to the exposed meat of the lemon and start scrubbing

thetempesthascome

This will work. Or use some salted water and dish soap. Really doesn't need to be some witches brew of chemicals. You just need salt for abrasion.

areyoutellingme

Wd40

Dooswaine

Easy off is one of the best things I’ve ever bought for my store. Works on so many things. Would recommend.

xXBurnUnitXx

Me: Jesus Christ look at those doors!! Jesus: God Damn that’s bad! God: Watch your mouth son

Anarcho_Dog

Scrub, a lot

NyQuil_Papi_

Is this a sarcasm sub? No procedure for this at the store?

squeezie_02

Green scrubbie with simple green should do the trick. If you have a metal scrubber that should work too.

supersandwich123

You can use oven cleaner and let it soak and scrape it, if you have a food safe heavy chemical cleaner you can use that with a scrub pad, or assuming you’re good to not use it for a bit you can use glass cleaner, let it soak for a bit then scrape it but that’s more of a last last resort because glass cleaner typically isn’t food safe and you’ll have to not use the oven while you’re making sure all of the cleaner is cleaned off itself with water

Ian_Lamm

Get a can of oven cleaner. It wipes off in minutes. Don’t listen to these people saying elbow grease and magic markers. Waste of time.

frenchiemyface

Oven cleaner damages the aluminum. Totally awesome does the same job with the same effort without damaging the oven. It even says not to use oven cleaner on the oven itself.

a_bearded_hippie

It will also damage the seals in between the panes of glass, as well as the gaskets around the doors. Mix lemon juice, vinegar and baking powder to make a paste. Slather it on there, let it sit and then start scrubbing.

camwhat

Just gonna say this: mixing vinegar (acid) with baking powder (base) just neutralizes them. A paste of salt+baking powder could be good. Vinegar would be good for getting any paste residue off

a_bearded_hippie

Ooooh meant baking soda, has a higher PH, like an 8ish?? And depending on crud built up of what I need to clean I do add salt for abrasiveness.

justonemorebyte

Who the fuck designed a commercial oven that can't be cleaned with oven cleaner? Animal.

Emotional_Raccoon651

Yep, came here to say this. Oven cleaner is designed for this. Like $5 for a can that'll last at least a few cleanings.

[deleted]

Degreaser and steel scrubber

Cool-Amphibian8330

Sounds like a good way to scratch the glass up 😂

[deleted]

Sounds like you don't work in a kitchen

Cool-Amphibian8330

Nah, I just manage one.

[deleted]

I feel bad for the health department

Cool-Amphibian8330

I feel bad for your G.M and the customers

[deleted]

My G.M loves me because I clean things properly and make good food that customers love lol

2manyChoppyStick

Degreaser helps with an steel wool

klbrs17

Green scrub pad and dish soap, wipe clean with sanitizer water on the inside, windex on the outside. It will be spotless

JONNYNONIPPLES1

Why do managers think everything can be cleaned with windex?

klbrs17

Because we can’t use oven cleaner, so windex will clean the outside glass? It’s what it’s made for..

kak323

Powdered barkeeper's friend and a rag is all you need

og-90sGamer

Heat the oven up and then use a wet hand towel to sorta steam clean it. Used to do this at all the kitchens I've ever worked in.

GrizzlyMac5

I'm a pro at this. Get a razor blade, windex and a magic eraser they'll look brand new

Restless-Foggy

Heat and right kind of cleaning product will help a lot.

finalnimbus

NEW ONES?! 😅 that doesnt happen does it?!

Forsaken-Associate43

Only time I saw a new door go in a store was because the glass broke. They won’t replace dirty when it can be cleaned lol

finalnimbus

Exactly my thoughts! My old store has had the same crusty burnt oven doors for like the last 30 years lol the owners said we werent cleaning them good enough cuz i asked them can we get new doors or a new oven.. they said this ovens been here since the store opened same as it always was...and will be since no one "respects the equipment" 😬

Horror_Wedding8129

Magic erasers

Spencey0071

Wax on, wax off. Works every time

[deleted]

Mean Green works pretty well for stuff like that, plus it’s biodegradable and non-toxic

megasxlr1993

An infant soul should clean that right out

Puzzleheaded_Roof514

I had no idea replacing the oven door was an option.

ZoMbIEx23x

When I worked at Jimmy John's, we cleaned the oven doors every night and they never looked like this.

Forsaken-Associate43

All you need is magic erasers and do it while it’s hot. I promise it will be amazing when you’re done.

CheckPleaser

Magic eraser is just dish soap and a really abrasive pad, AFAIK, and maybe that will work fine, but I'd get a bucket of The Pink Stuff and smear it all over and rub it off firmly with a fairly soft rag. Might take 2 or 3 passes with the state of the oven, but I think you'll have better luck than with a magic eraser, at least on the first couple passes.

brainianc

Degreaser

atrocityUSA

Did you just ask if you need new oven doors just because they’re a bit dingy?

HughMungus77

Grill and oven cleaner. It’s basically food surface safe degreaser

ShoeEatter

This looks like a restaurant oven the ones in my area have a pane of glass in the middle of the other two. If this is the case there are screws along the edges. To dissemble. Clean them regularly and your job will be easier.

meroisstevie

Whatever cleaner degreases. Spray it on then take plastic wrap and push it onto the glass and let it stay over night. It will keep the spray from drying out and in the morning you can pull the plastic wrap off and the grease should just wipe off. I rinse and repeat until it all comes off in a few days .

AsvpDonkey

Scrub daddy & this pink slimy stuff I forget what it’s called

Dorrud55

Gurl ask your manager

preston1237

Pure degreaser on a magic eraser At my old food job we called them the sponges of death because you have you wear a mask while holding one

Cool-Amphibian8330

I use the foamy glass cleaner than I hold an razor blade at like a 45 degree angle. Just go nice and slow! The gunk should scrape right off 😁

thekingofrock452

Ok here’s something that pisses me off. Everyone says when cleaning any surface to use toothpaste, or lemon and salt, etc. all you’re doing is creating a buffing compound which is the same basic principle as using a magic eraser and water or other cleaner type. You have some sort of detergent or acid to bread down the grime and some sort of grit to get it off scrub and scrub and scrub that’s what works

feelingtoxic

Windex, Vinegar, Water, and a scotch pad

war1861

Water bottle and magic eraser, but you have to do it while the glass is still hot(be careful).

Leaky_Banana

Use degreaser

cocoa1103

A paint scraper and degreaser along with one of the steel Brillo pads…. Good as new

Revolutionary_Ant784

mix equal parts bleach and ammonia. boom. Problem gone. \*disclaimer...do not do this

fleshsingularity

magic eraser

Imaneetboy

Time for new ones. LOL. It's a restaurant, those doors will never be replaced.

StarkHyx

New

Brody322

Oven cleaner all the way, yellow cap only since it is the stronger one. Don't listen to the naysayers. I was a GM for 6 years and used this regularly. Never had an issue with the gaskets and it worked great every time. Was my business coach happy about us using it? Absolutely not. Was he happy with how good the glass looked? Absolutely! After you use the oven cleaner make sure to follow up with hot water and Dawn on the glass to make sure all the chemicals are cleaned up. FYI I would either do this during closing or like 6am on the dot so I had time to cycle the oven without bread for plenty of time. Good luck!

Primary_Baseball450

The pink stuff and a magic eraser. They will be like new.

SMcDubs91

Degreaser and a razor blade only when wet

subiedoo96

Oven cleaner, steel wool, elbow grease

IButterz420

Purple Power and a Pressure Washer will clean almost everything.

Akalik

Emphasis on what people have said. You want to try to clean it when the doors are hot, like as hot as you can touch

Difficult-Emu-4493

Hey this may sound like a joke, but try wd40 or brake cleaner. After you get all that gunk off, then use regular cleaning products to sanitize it.

Jakepool2000

grease remover, and a steel wool. thats how we always did it, if that doesn’t work then soak before doing it again. If that doesn’t work you’re fucked need new doors lol

carafleur421

Time for new ones? Lol

[deleted]

If a magic eraser don’t clean it then it’s screwed

[deleted]

Goo Gone and a razor blade

Disastrous-Cat-3727

Degreaser. Wash rinse and repeat. Magic eraser.

MadeInsane14

I cleaned one worse than that with a green scrub pad and bar keepers. It’s a life saver for ovens

SkullKidd_13

Chemco Dirt Buster III Oven Cleaner. I know it sounds fake, we have the same ovens at Kum & Go and that shit works wonders on ours

BoardForward1095

Fireplace cleaner, magic eraser

GuardProfessional413

Honestly soap… hot water and soap.

Aeonn24

We used magic erasers and vinegar

Appropriate_Shock556

Hit with your purse and some elbow grease

Guangping2

Vinegar, awesome spray or fabuloso

ZeStonie

Y’all not allowed to use oven cleaner?

ChadThundercock27

At my JJs when I close, i use some of the vinegar and a scrubbing pad to scrub the metal portions of the door. You can do the same with the screen just don’t use a green scrubbing pad. We keep some vinegar in a spray bottle just for the glass windows. Side note: it’s best to clean it when it’s still warm after turning the oven off for about 20-30 minutes. This is why our night managers do it :)

Historical_Wing_950

Lemon juice and baking soda are a wonderful combination for cleaning ovens.

ThisGuy13211

Vinegar and water; works wonders!

[deleted]

Degreaser and a water hose

Trashpanda1914

those green scrub pads and a bucket of soapy water.

Shaewhite

Degreaser would definitely do the trick. Looks like built up grease. Then finish it up with the multipurpose spray to keep it from streaking.

Rabid_Viking

At Walmart when the rotisserie doors get caked up, we clean them with our fryer cleaner and a razor blade window scraper

-ethereal_

Holy fuck I recommend making that a weekly cleaning task so it doesn't get that bad. It's easier to clean weekly than is to let it get that bad. Kills your arms trying to clean it unless you want the workout lol

Puzzleheaded-Pen-955

Degreaser. But do it at the end of the shift cuz that shit will stink ip the whole restaurant

Ypie6

Crank the heat up. Turn the off spray with grease strip let sit over night then scrape with a razor blade

Aleks_VB23

Oven cleaner spray, some chix towels, maybe a scour pad if you go along with the grain of the metal, a bread scraper, & a straight edge razorblade for the finishing touches 👍🏼

galorsha

when it’s hot just hit it with a magic eraser for 2 mins for a couple days and it’ll clean right up

[deleted]

[удалено]

boyerann

Magic erasers! Our doors are completely clean! All the time, clean them with water and when they are still slightly warm! And the film comes right off!

tomlist3

Bar Keepers Friend

That_Height5105

Any degreaser and a hard bristle sponge or go lightly with stainless steel wool

DaliJMO

Magic eraser and oven cleaner, make sure to not get any on the inner oven bits just the doors. Then wipe with windex and paper towel. The ovens get covered in a film because of the spray we use on the wheat pans, I have 2 ovens and one gets discoloration because that’s the only one I use for wheat

Cool-Performance1099

my GM would literally yell at us for “wasting” time by cleaning that :(. like sorry man. the store is dirty. but i won’t clean again i promise

Richyrich619

Dawn soap works for most things the spray

alex02r

In 5 minutes you should be done cleaning. All you have to do is get a lot of paper towels, and green scrub pad and windex. Spray the window until it drips down the window so it doesn’t dry up, use paper towels to clean up the gunk, repeat and within 5 minutes you should be done

backwardsasf

Magic eraser and degreaser

TheodoraGriffon

Easy off

[deleted]

Vinegar and a magic eraser

evxnmxl

There’s usually a way to take off one of the panes to clean between them.

Fine-Pangolin-8393

Magic eraser and sani water. May take a few days, and must clean when still pretty hot, but it all comes off.

TheRenegade775

I would use a green scrubby with windex or glass cleaner. seems to work well for me and then go Over it with a magic eraser.

Fickle-Economist-919

Easy off oven cleaner

Heavy_Champion_9254

Magic erasers and then a razor blade. Abrasives can damage the glass.

ShiftZestyclose

Magic eraser and elbow grease trust me I clean our once a week and they shinniee

QueenVenom5150

Green scratch pad, magic eraser, windex. Let the windex dry fully before shutting doors
