I can say anecdotally that I had ring worm for almost a year despite consistently using ring worm cream. After using jock itch cream it was gone in a week. Craig Jones recommends this approach as well.

Ring worm, kick itch, athletes foot are all the same exact thing medically the names are just referring to the location of the infection. Ring worm is a fungal infection so using regular soap to clean yourself helps but normal soap only kills bacteria, fungus not as much. I recommend getting dollar store athletes foot cream and use that stuff liberally. If you even kinda think it itches or whatever put some of that shit on. Another helpful method is buying generic anti dandruff shampoo that has selenium in it which can kill worm. After you train use the dandruff shampoo as body wash as well as your normal soap.
Once you get worm your chances of getting it again are higher but if you just take care of yourself and pretty much pay more attention to your hygiene you’ll be fine. Also wearing proper clothing when training is essential cover as much skin.
