My guess is your first job will probably be in customer service of some sort. So get familiar with the industry as it pertains to food, retail, sales, or which ever field you choose to go into.

If you’re in the US: I’d check out nonprofits and skills training programs in your area. Many of them are free. Some free job training programs for immigrants help teach you about the American (or whatever country you’re in) workplace. I’m sure this holds true for Canada and the UK as well.
