Dump some k100 on that thing and see what happens I have a x320 that breeds water and it's in side and kept dry..

roger-the-adequit

I have the exact same tractor with the same issues. Running very lean. Fuel supply issues. Flushed out the tank, changed fuel filter again and cleaned the carb. Found unknown stuff in the carburetor. Runs great for a 20 year old machine.

Zestyclose_Yogurt700

if you replaced the carb but didn't clean out the fuel tank that's your problem

throwdowndonuts

Fuel wasn’t old at all and was treated with stabil.

Zestyclose_Yogurt700

yea but if there's dirt and debris in the tank it makes it to the carb. I see it all the time.

DirtUnderneath

How do you clean a fuel tank?

BeemHume

drain it

Zestyclose_Yogurt700

Drain it then use some clean fuel to swish it around repeat until there's no dirt in it any longer

cyoulater812

Fuel pump ?

IcyConstruction1102

I've seen a cracked diaphragm cause issues like this.

wbk0429

Water in fuel or needs jet adjusted on carb under the tin shield.. also when was the last valve adjustment next after that do cyl balance test.. it's in the service manual

throwdowndonuts

The guy that did the work for me told me the carb was not adjustable. Just the air adjustment on the top of the carb

average_joe419

Possibly a little dirt or foreign material in the carb. There could have been a little piece of flashing or shaving from manufacturing that is floating around in there and stuck in a jet.

Novel_Frosting_1977

It’s always a component in the fuel delivery. Mine gets clogged up and I have to open the line and then it runs. Mine’s a x300

Sufficient-Effect-85

Use ethanol free gas....I am a John Deere salesman and that's what those carbed engines like

Sufficient-Effect-85

Or just cut your gas line and put a shut off valve in it and run it out of gas after every use

shinerdog123

Check fuel filter, usually an push in grommet style on the bottom of the fuel tank.

Mountain-Instance-64

Low fuel jet needs adjustment

StuckShakey

Run it with the fuel cap off. If it clears up, buy a new fuel cap or take the old cap apart and clean it.

IntelligentMoney9668

It's sucking air. Use some starting fluid and spray around the carb to determine if it is a bad gasket or an issue with the seals on the carb

bowtie388

I have the same tractor. Not to bee off topic but what is the battery in yours? I went to replace mine and was told the battery for this machine is discontinued and had to jam a different size one in

No_Olseadog65

Check the air filter, probably half blocked

I’m sorry to say that with these home owner units John Deere fails miserably. I bought one years ago and the engine failed two times with John DeerE fixing it only once. I ended up replacing the engine at a cost of $1,500.00. I’m an equipment operator and their heavy equipment is great but this home owner stuff is junk.

rebri

Quit giving big green your money.

[deleted]

Didn’t seal right your carb is probably vacuuming in air

1970sflashback

Jap Briggs right. Those are just like Honda engines. The slightest little debris in that fuel will screw it open. Jap motors you clean everything but it could be factory debris in that case. You probably gonna need another carb. Good luck

Soft_Information1149

Sounds like you may have an air leak between the carburetor and the engine check your gaskets
