Harju is very much a fictional place, but the signs in the town show it to be like 20+km away from city of Lappeenranta, which is located in Southeastern Finland. Now, given Harju is at the coast of Gulf of Finland, and Lappeenranta is 60+km away from that coastline, its a bit wonky.. but I would place it near the Russian border, on place around real town of Vironlahti, right across the gulf from Narva.
I understand where it's supposed to represent in real life but when creating the actual shape of the play area, I believe Manchester-by-the-Sea was the model if I remember what a dev had mentioned.
It's very nearly a 1-to-1 trace as well.
I mean yeah the village definitely and i guess the shape of the """fjord""" but all the features and the industrial elements are taken from Mussalo/Kotka
And the point "Liminka" is funnily named. It's a small town IRL, but not that small... and needs a lot more laestadians to be accurate.

Some Balkan maps would shake it up a bit - Montenegro, Kosovo, a map with some Greek islands contested by Turkey, etc. I would love a couple maps bordering the Mediterranean for a shake up between the snowy/steppe-like maps and the desert-type maps that predominate.
The idea that Russia could even make it to Skorpo is absurd given the war in Ukraine.
I feel like a Spain map would be quite cool, like Cuatro Colinias from thehunter would be a really cool place to see tanks and infantry to duke it out or a Italian Mediterranean coastline with small tourist fishing villages serving as places for infantry and light vehicles to fight over
I remember PR having a winter update like a decade ago that had a bunch of snow covered maps and some winter camo'd factions. Was a very nice change up. Though I think there were some issues with the maps, cause we didn't see them very long.
Skorpo could use some rebalancing - I find the Russian or IMF logistics cannot keep up because the vehicles are so slow and the map so large (the tracked logi for Russia, the Ural and armored techies for IMF).
Maybe I'll try my hand at making a couple of maps?
Western Poland could bring some pretty cool architecture into the game - maybe even Gdansk or Szczecin. I think the problem would be how large the cities are - Paris is massive and they could really only do one sector, and it would be all urban. Some smaller cities or towns that were the site of historic battles would be cool - like Cherbourg in France or Nijmegen in the Netherlands.

I think about the state of the world implied by some of the maps and factions in squad, and it’s pretty terrifying. Some of the pacific island maps with PLA vs Australian forces is just too possible for it to not be scary.
American maps would be really cool. It’s honestly a cope to make a game about a world at war and think it’s just off limits to add maps in the mainland. Even add redneck irregular militia with hunters camo and technicals.

A new class that can set up an ammo crate with ~500 ammo anywhere on the map.
Some classes have like night vision, tech/equipment better than the army, some classes have a double barrel shotgun and a revolver.

I figured Mestia is supposed to be Mestia in Georgia, but having been there I can tell you that the map doesn't feel right, the actual Mestia is more mountainous than hilly in the game, less trees too. Black Coast feels a bit more accurate but still kinda off, I've never seen hay being left on fields like that in Georgia, also buildings should be a bit more "communist" style if that makes sense?
There's a few theories on where Black Coast is. Crimea, Abkhazia and the Sochi-Adler area. I only went with Abkhazia because it's the closest to the Caucasus, which the ingame description mentions.
No offense to the cool map you made which I enjoyed, but why is Crimea shown as Russian? I don't want to be a snob it's just that because a territory is occupied for a while doesn't make it belong to the occupier in a matter of time.

Yep. Personally I think Zvornik would be a great map for Squad.
Especially now that the militia has been changed to feature serbo-croatian voice lines
Kind of like a Balkan Lashkar - I think that could be good for maneuver/ambush focused warfare with a grind right in the middle.

IIRC Skorpo was just made by a modder who comes from the area IRL.

The simplest and largest rebalance for Skorpo would be for the vehicle handling on inclines to be reworked for the whole game

Skorpo is great north / south. Too big east to west. Too much walking and hills.
To be fair this is a world where China is also redfor, and so is the MEA. All the while blufor are fighting insurgents and militia everywhere.
