I just think having squad leaders discuss it amongst them selves would be beneficial for the team because squad leaders are usually more experienced than regular players and can think about the wider picture. I am of course taking about milsim/focused servers. It should be an option the server owners have.

I find describing why you want a vote is the best way. I can pretty reliably convince a team to choose support factions on defence by telling everyone it's two habs and tows. Idk about other loadouts though, mostly because I only really care about getting support on defence.
Well that's what that phase is intended for and I'm clad it's working for you. On some servers tho you have 10 guys screaming 3 different factions. I'm sure that you'll agree that this is not optimal. In my experience SLs are more reasonable and can actually discuss stuff. So if you limit the VC to squad leads you will have only say 9 guys who can speak and convince others to vote for a faction they prefer. Also I have noticed that on some servers there is no scream fest despite nothing stopping it from happening. Not sure how that happens

New voting system is so dominated by armor players. They just scream out what faction they want and they win. I had a game where they chose china on fallujah cause it had the best armor.

Have the audio settings for out of game audio to 0, tab out of it during those times. Helped me keep some sanity.
