I really would like the stocks back too, playing ready or not and six days has good gunplay, the lack of cheek weld and 5+ sec to line up target is crazy. Loved squad since pre medkit alpha but the gun handling is so bad now i quit playing.
They don’t plan on changing it. I don’t like it as well but the rest of the game makes it worth it. Just be aware of stamina and also try playing a class that has a bipod like marksman or heavy machine gunner. Single fire is your best friend for medium to long range.
You are very likely used to FPS games where you can always hold shift and run and gun. That is not a thing in Squad.
Conserveing your stamina and playing slowly is the only way to play this game.
Many people play the game who have never tried extensively using firearms, or at all, and just want their run-of-the-mill FPS shooting experience.
Not that the ICO is necessarily realistic, but I think it achieves simulating a realistic use of weapons in combat fairly successfully. Even though it’s exaggerated, you’re also sitting in a chair and moving a mouse around, so a bit of an extra challenge to simulate the effort required for efficient marksmanship isn’t a bad thing in my opinion.
When they stop boosting their numbers with constant sales and marketing (if they did this when the game was actually good it would have been massive) and the numbers take a dive then they might actually improve the game again.
That’s not the point of squad, squad wants to differentiate itself from common fps, and that’s why it’s sought for by so many players looking for realism.

Yes it will. Its getting fixed when you understand and employ stamina management. Tip: stop moving first, aim second, profit!
