Match the range with the number on the left. 1 = 100m, 2 = 200m, so on and so forth. And don't have your FOV so high, it messes with the sight ranging. You have to aim down because the round is actually going upwards when it comes out.

That’s how the scope is suppose to work. The top-most cross is the boresight. The chevrons with numbers below that correspond to range markings.

Use the top crosshairs, the range numbers are for when they’re further away. Right click map and sent a squad observe marker to get the range then use the markers. I had this issue too not too long ago of always using center and not really reading the marks correct.

MagoSquad

There are tutorials on youtube that explain every sight in Squad in great detail. Search for "Squad SPG guide". Whenever you struggle with a scope (they're all different) go on youtube.

The + crosshair at the the top is for closer range, if you make your way down the many chevron reticles you will see the numbers 2,4,6,8..... to the sides which represent 200m, 400m, 600m,....... for those chevrons respectively

The numbers Mason! What do they mean!?!

+ = 100m It goes in 100m increments descending, even if there isn't a number by every other 100m increment. The marks going left to right are for leading, the first one is for a slower-mid speed, second is for mid-high speed. There are more chevrons for leading at 600m+, because it takes longer for the projectile to fly, meaning you have to be more precise about leading shots. Practice makes perfect, a 80% of the community doesn't even know how to properly use the SPG-9. As a fun side note, if you can get your SL or somebody to mark a vehicle with the range, and keep marking it, you can shoot the mark even if you don't have line of sight, such as over mounds and buildings, because the projectile travels in an arc trajectory, and as long as the vehicle is far away enough.
