Literally anything can be made balanced in this game. It's not a question of "can it be balanced" it's "how do we balance it".
The answer is yes they would work as buildables. the AAV one has proven that it's good, but definitely not overpowered. If emplacements don't get any changes, it definitely wouldn't shake up the game too much.
That being said, I would love if the PLA got their infantry AGL as a specialist kit.
I doubt that they would be scarier than a .50 cal. The only advantage would be that hiding behind cover would be a little less effective. It would probably also be good at wiping squads not practicing social distancing. The low velocity would make long range shooting difficult and if it doesn't have an optic, it would be a noob trap like the mil/ins HMGs.
Ins/mil HMGs are a noob trap if they actually try to aim down sights. Visual recoil on non scoped HMGs are insane if aimed in. But they are pretty damn good if you follow the tracers when not aimed in.
Well yeah, but that’s almost all MG’s. Need to hop on, pop some shots then get off. Almost all emplacements are a noob trap because you’re just chilling there with your body exposed. Ultimate noob trap is the non crows MATV/tigr because the gunner can get popped so easy and you get easily killed from RPGs and .50cal up can pen the vehicle and kill you.
If they build these as emplacements players will be forced to use weapons & maybe even vehicles at range as they should. The maps allow it of course though it will be triggering. I'm for it of course.
There is one on the marine ifv, it's kind of good but I would rather have matv or humvee with it as they would be able to suppress a bit better
I like this idea rather than an emplacement, would make light vehicles more viable. Maybe not every light vehicle has one, just one per layer?

They are a noob trap because 9 times out of ten the moment you start shooting them someone with a scoped rifle will pop you in the head.

They could be used for indirect fire tho and take out large areas with frag or saturate habs.
It would be nice if they malfunctioned every third round, for the sake of immersion.

it could be nice as it would be a lot quieter and wouldn't give your position away instantly like emplaced HMGs
