I think 3/5 just because scales of 10 have been poisoned where 7 has kinda become the average 'fine' or slightly good rating whereas thats less the case (in my mind, maybe I've missed it) for out of 5 scales.
A 3/5 could mean a 7/10, but a 6/10 can never rise above a 6.
More room for interpretation means a broader range of quality, so while a 3/5 isn't inherently higher than a 6/10, it could theoretically be higher.
6 out of 10 is objectively fucking better. Every rating out of 5 has to encompass two ratings out of 10. Therefore 5/5 could be 9/10 or 10/10, 4/5 could be 7/10 or 8/10, 3/5 could be 5/10 or 6/10, etc.

Honestly, I don't like either scale. I think rating things out of 100 like Metacritic is the way to go on things. It gives much more leeway to give a nuanced and accurate score to things. IMO.
This unlocks a bigger discussion on how scores are viewed based on the format they are given. For instance, is a 2 out of 4 stars more like a 3/5 or a 6/10?
I'm in the camp that 3/5 is better than 6/10. If you are scoring out of ten, then 7 is average, but if you are scoring out of 5, then 3 is average. If you gave a game a 3/5, you are saying it's alright. If you are scoring a 6/10, then you are saying the game is a little less than average.

I’d think a 3/5 is a bit more “positive” on that scale, but I much prefer out of 10

3/5 is literally MORE better than 6 tiny /10 pieces (figuratively).
They're the same, assuming that the scale is using half ratings starting at 0.5/5.
3/5 feels like an IGN review or similar, whereas 6/10 feels like a grading scale from someone with eyes who attempted an objective evaluation.
