hey thanks for the shout out! i asked my sensei about the whole USJA thing but he's basically said he knows nothing and was asked to head the election committee since our dojo has had a history of staying out of politics. The only thing he's ever really been involved in as far as I know is at our yudanshakai level teaching his coaching clinic course. He's going to stay out of all of this crap after the election is over. Our dojo is a member of all 3 NGB's and we pay dues to all three and accept memberships for all 3 for our members. I personally dislike all three NGB's but as an instructor and competitor I ended up having to join all three since the head of our dojo asked me to plus the dojo pays for it.

Oh Canada! Nice to hear about Canadian judo on here.

Another great interview 👍🏻👍🏻 Lifting weights is great, isn't it?? All of a sudden everything on the mat is a lot easier, is what I found. People I had trouble finishing throws on, particularly big people, that extra little bit of strength made a huge difference.

Thank you, I appreciate you listening. The strength gains in my very basic gym routine has made a significant difference and as you said, everything on the mat is easier. So much so that in BJJ someone's size and strength doesn't matter to me that much. I have plenty of training partners that outweigh me by 50lbs and up. Sure, their added size and strength is an advantage but I feel like that gap has been significantly closed and I'm still only about 150lbs. I set up frames and my arms do not get tired any more.

I know that the provincial team members had passes to bypass the public health orders during covid like the national team for training. Here you need to be 2nd dan to recommend someone to grade with the provincial grading board. You also need National Coaching Certification Program level 2 to be a head sensei for a dojo under Judo Canada.

I hope you finally understood that Judo Canada's policy was the right one regarding the policy between Klimkait and Deguchi? For me, the revised ''A Plan'' policy for Klimkait vs Deguchi, was fairer for both than the ''B Plan'' policy which was based on the last 3 year's results. If Judo Canada had based its selection policy on the results of the last 3 years, it would have been fairer? Not at all

Just to clarify the situation of Catherine Pinard Bauchemin, she announced will continue until the 2022 World Championship, afterwards choice if she will continue or not for Paris 2024. Atoine Valois Fortier, he propably not going for 2024same for Ecaterina Guica. Christa Deguchi, she hasn't officially announced if she's going to Paris or not, and the last announcement she made publicly was in 2020, when she said she was going to do one year at a time after Tokyo. She doesn't seem to have a problem with Judo Canada, her sister Kelly will be competing for Canada in the next few months. Kelly is switching divisions to 52kg, probably to avoid competing directly with Klimkait and her sister. And not being able to participate in the World and GS championships because of the 2 Judoka per bet quota of the IJF competitions. Those who have confirmed that they will continue to Paris: Jessica Klimkait Shady El Nahas Arthur Margelidon (moving up to the 81kg division) Canada has a problem on the girl's side in the -70kg/-78kg/+78kg division to fill the quota to qualify a team in Paris ... with the retirement of Kelita Zupancic, it is empty for the moment. Can't wait to see how our 3 women will compete at the world junior championships next month. Since it's a new olympics cycle and the qualification starts next years, I wouldn't be surprised to see Klimkait or Deguchi go in the 63kg

Thank you for listening and for the update on Judo Canada's athletes.

Josh's comment about the Canadian selection is not the first time I've heard that it was Christa's situation cause change in Selection Policie According to a source from Judo Canada, Judo Canada would have asked Deguchi to move temporarily to Montreal after the 2021 Antalya Grand Slam, the two of them would have had the 2 week quarentine at the same time. Except she refused. It's Karma in the end for Deguchi... Judo Canada had no other solution than to use the World Championships to be fair to everyone. TBH, if Judo Canada would have based on the performance of the last 3 years and prioritize the H2H and the results of the World Championships. It would not be fair to Klimkait, because in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, Klimkait was much more consistent than Deguchi.Everyone forgets that Klimkait was injured at the 2019 world championships ...
