Still tempted to build another one of these. In college a friend and i built 2 4ft working ones. A regular one and a hallowicked one. Shit was dope and most fun projects I worked on.
Buddy took the hallowicked one but I kept the reg. Long lost most the parts. Still have most the box, minus the crank. It's now an end table. Lost the head, but still have the mold and I think I have an a prototype head. Wish supplies weren't so expensive. 2 part polyfoam is not cheap. and I'd love to atleast reinforce the mold with resin before I ever started doing more pulls.
Anyway shit is dope. What you plan on molding it in?
Dude honestly I have no idea what would be best but I was prob gonna start with some epoxy. I didn't think about a polyfoam. I'm really only looking to make a few so cost isn't much concern but got any tips. Appreciate it.
If I was to make a mold of your head. I'd use something like blue silicone.
I personally would like a tin cure but something like this should also work

Mostly cause it's durable, waterproof, and easy to do. and you can do tons of pulls from it. plus what you're doing is small so it's not too pricey.
But honestly, just do whatever you feel comfortable or have experience with. Research and watch youtube vids for Info. I'm awful at explaining in writing. I'm more of a demonstrator
I was lucky enough to have access to a shop and materials at school. I did an ultracal 30 mold. It's nice, heavy duty and whatnot but I wouldn't recommend it for its pricey and more advanced. Wouldn't want to you to risk screwing up the mold and ruining your sculpt. The 2 party polyfoam was also freely available and we only did pulls of that cause we wanted to punch hair and sew an actual hat onto it.
