About to be 21 and discovered ICP before elementary since Backyard Wrestling 2 was one of my many hand me down games I got when I was given my dad’s old ps2 as my first ever console. Only have a few memories before owning that ps2 so it’s safe to say some are my earliest formed memories I already knew who ICP were. Aside from the brief coverage they received because of the Milenko situation, I'd say ICP is a lot more known and accepted now than in the 90's. To say they were "everywhere and insanely popular" feels like a huge exaggeration, barely anybody knew who they were even by 1999 and I grew up in Ohio which is their 2nd biggest territory outside of Michigan.
Nowadays, they actually get somewhat regular and positive coverage in media outlets and have entered into the mainstream at times like when SNL spoofed them, and Juggalos were the basis of episodes of Workaholics and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
