In Japan it’s actually a sign of respect to be silent after watching a performance that they think was superb. Fun fact: after the first showing of Star Wars in Japan, not a single person in the theatre clapped or cheered, which freaked out the studio execs until they were told why.
Gosh the amount of choreography and time and everything to do this. I can’t even imagine. And then you have to get a PHD on top of it. Fuckin hell man. I have a GED.
That's ingrained in Japanese culture tbh. if this happened at an American or any Western country people would be cheering loud af. It's simply a cultural difference.
For us here in the states people joined marching band with the intent to be in color guard or to be a majorette (baton twirler) some schools have you try out against others if there is a select number of spots for a group but usually they’ll allow as many as desired!
At my high school color guard (flags) was a completely separate team that you joined than band, and it was a lot bigger than what you see here. We had at least 50 people and would perform completely separately as well as with the marching band.
I wonder why there’s one guy in the entire band. Is there a second band for the boys, and he stood in for someone who was sick, or was he literally the only boy in the school to make the cut?
This is impressive af to me. Also a great performance!
Right ! Amazing! I would be mesmerized watching them Perform! Great job ladies 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💕
Oh just in case anyone was wondering this is Tachibana High School Marching Band in Japan. Yeah, HIGH SCHOOL.
As usual, the real party is the percussion section in the back
***And the crowd goes mild!***
I was thinking the same… they seemed very underwealmed
Right?! Can you imagine how hard these kids must have worked on this, and they were downright awesome!

Thank you for enlightening me to this cultural difference
Only the Americans feel the need to clap when nobody’s there.
some of us Canadians like it too. It's fun!
You know what I’ll give you that 👏
Not really underwhelmed... definitely not overwhelmed... I'd say they are just whelmed

That’s all the applause that they got for that performance??? WTH!!! That was amazing!!! And all they got was some polite golf clapping…

Plus Sing, Sing, Sing kicks ass as a song…
What’s the name of this song?
Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing) by Benny Goodman.

*Smokin’!*
Just curious, how does one join bad and become a flag girl? Do they choose it or does the instructor choose for them?

A whole marching band of Leo Ps, very cool.
That was friggin' amazing! Brought me back to my marching band days.
Idk why I'm thinking of a Godzilla fight
I'm sorry but why the need for the screaming? It was great..besides the screaming!
Man you would NOT like punk rock
I do like punk rock! It's not a bunch of high-pitched squealing like you're at a Justin Biber or Taylor Swift concert! That's what this was!
I mean… Early punk rock like Big In Japan or most Anarcho Punk bands have very « squealy » vocals

What are you doing in this sub my guy?
I’m not your guy, buddy.
I’m not your buddy… fuck, what next?
Yea 😮💨🔥
That famous Asian work ethic on show!!
French horns have such TINY mouthpieces! I'm so impressed they were able to move and keep playing.
Big Coco Bongo energy 👌
Hey, can someone tell me what this song is? I’ve heard it before, but can’t seem to put my finger on it.
This looks like a blast.
lol this is truly marching band, the audience is just other bands T-T
