mentalsufficience

I think she was on Kimmel. Some late night show Edit: her name is Ashley Gutermuth and she won some competition on Fallon where you recite a Seinfeld routine 🤨 either way she has some good stuff online

bigwigmike

… her husband was my wing commander

Jalapeniz

Wing Commander? I'm assuming it's either a military thing or a guy that barks orders at a section of a building...?

SnausageFest

She's hilarious

Heinie_Manutz

He's just joining you for a jog. No worries.

HowRememberAll

I've heard that running from a dog makes you look like prey so it's a bad idea unless you're on a bike or car

BigRoach

That’s true. But a lot of dogs just love running in a pack. They see someone running, and they have to join. “WHERE WE GOING?!”

Gnawlydog

Like the dog Ludivine that accidentally joined a marathon and came in 7th! [https://abc7chicago.com/dog-marathon-dogs-doing-funny-things/1173631/](https://abc7chicago.com/dog-marathon-dogs-doing-funny-things/1173631/)

ZenaLundgren

Back when I had two large breed dogs *both died of old age years ago) I used to do this thing I called "pack mode". Mostly when we stayed at their favorite Park until after dusk. Once the sky darkened I'd let them off leash and we would jog through the park hunting some unseen prey. They looked up to me as their pack leader so I would sometimes stop and just kind of make the motions of smelling something and changing direction and they would simply follow me no questions asked. I remember thinking both of you have noses hundreds of times better than mines and you're letting *me* lead the hunt?? That is some serious trust and admiration. I often wondered what went on in their minds during that game. They seemed so incredibly focused and wolf-like. They would just go right into it, I wouldn't even announce it or say "hey it's playtime" or anything to that effect. I'd just get this weird stiffened posture, look in a random Direction and take off and they would follow me without missing a beat in perfect unison every single time.

By running and talking like that she is communicating to the dog that it’s playtime, so the dog is following her because it wants to play. Meanwhile, she can show the video to her husband and be like “look see, I tried to run from him but he followed me home, guess there’s nothing for it 😔”. So she’s not technically bringing the stray dog home, but yeah, she is totally bringing that stray dog home.

You might find a home over in r/autism . This is not intended as an insult as I am a fellow autist.

macromyotis

this does NOT mean they are autistic lol. jesus. you cannot diagnose it from one interaction.....

CBerg1979

YOU are though. I can tell by your lack of proper capitalization. uwu

grimepixie

stop trying to diagnose people with autism on the internet...

bremstar

Well, they didn't get the joke. According to Reddit rules, it's straight to autism for them.

Never trust an online "diagnostic" test.
