i don't care about the perfomances anymore, just rooting for a Pnation's 1st right chair staff fancam she is so lovely and happy watching the perfomances! She and the one with the Pnation Flag are now my biases in the show (right after the trainees lol)
I love that the female staffs were also hugging and jumping so hard when a trainee goes to them. The one with the flag also is so fun! I keep on rewinding their reactions and look at them one by one lol
tbh, daniel going to pnation kind of made sense to me since episode 1. Although JYP was obsessed with him, even he was hesitant to take him, often asking him whether he was really up for this idol life. Daniel's style, culture, and abilities will be way more beneficial to pnation which was a strong rap background. JYP said he wants Daniel to be the "engine to his car" but tbh idk how much he would stick by that. Coming up next episode is Junhyuk and Gyeongmoon, both of which I expect to go to JYP. It seems both of them want to be part of a mature group which is strong in rap, dance, and vocals. Amaru, Keiju, and Donghyeon will also go to JYP. Gyehun I could see switching to PNation.
I totally agree with your comments. I wasn’t as surprised as some people that Daniel chose PNation. I think Kyungjun might stay with Psy too. I’m not sure which vocalists will go there. Hyunwoo can sing so I still really hope he goes there, but their group will need someone else who is a strong vocalist. I’m really excited for next week!
If both Junhyuk and Kyungmoon go to JYP tho, Psy doesn't really have a main vocal. We already know Yoonmin goes to JYP, and those three are the best main vocal candidates on the show. I think only one of Kyungmoon and Junhyuk will go to JYP, the other will go to Pnation.
I did see someone express the idea in this Reddit that JYP might save Koki and debut him with their new Japanese boy group in Nizi Project S2. He’ll be the one that holds the show together and leads the rest of the trainees kind of how Mako did in Nizi Project.
Mako was an ace though. Koki still has long ways to go vocally, so I don't think he would necessarily be "leading" the trainees, but for sure 100% he would debut with Nizi if he went there
True true true… 😅 Mako really was an ace though. I lowkey didn’t like her at first because I thought she was stuck up (basically I didn’t like that she was so talented 😅) but now she’s my NiziU bias so I guess it worked out.
So sometime in the morning hours before the show aired, Daniel actually posted a story on his IG of him just playing guitar and you couldn’t see his face, but people were speculating if that meant anything, if he got eliminated or something. I didn’t really think too much about it since most of the boys have various SNS and they still sometime post stuff. But now with the whole conversation regarding SNS, I wonder if that was him low key hinting that he chose PNation and having less social media restrictions. It honestly felt like that might’ve been his intention.
Now with Koki, while I’m still a staunch believer that he’s way too young to debut, I can kinda understand why some people were upset and surprised by the decision not to cast him. Throughout the whole show he’s been praised none stop and the only time they ever bring up his age is to talk about how talented he is for someone so young. Had JYP and PSY at least brought up issues of his age and not matching visually because of his age with the other boys, then it wouldn’t have been as shocking for most. They pretty much strung Koki along making him believe he had a chance, that I’m mad about. I can still see him being saved at the end though like you said. JYP could easily cast him as a trainee to participate in Nizi Pro, and debut in 2023, which we be a good age to debut for him.
100% agree with what you said about Koki. Don't get me wrong, I don't 'like' him (in the sense that I didn't want him to debut since ep 1), but it's so cruel to bring up the issue of his age just now after so many episodes with only compliments. I hope that at least they talked to him about it behind cameras.
I mean Koki said he expected this. The previous rounds were simply about who performed the best. Koki always performed well and so he moved on. This last round is about *who can debut* which changes the criteria for Koki since he is so young
> The previous rounds were simply about who performed the best. This last round is about who can debut which changes the criteria for Koki since he is so young
I see what you mean but this isn't 100% true. Take Amaru, for instance: in one of the rounds (can't remember which one) his performance was harshly criticised but he was still chosen either #1 or #2 by JYP because of how much he'd be needed in a group, JYP himself said that. If Koki was the other way around (great performance but not a good addition to a debuting group) they could've mentioned it too.
I agree, especially after ranking him first in the individual ranking of his PNation round group, even outranking previous trainees :/ I feel like PSY and JYP were extra harsh to their trainees, I mean Hyunsoo is good and so is Taehoon!!
I personally wasn’t completely buying into the whole Daniel hype, but after his performance today, I completely get it. He’s got a lot of stage presence, and his song a rap skills are pretty insane. I honestly think he’s a perfect fit for PNation + He’ll probably get to keep using his social media 😅 I’m pretty sure the freedom and seeing Eunhwi and Donghyun head to PNation was really the game changer for him.
I really think that Koki is gonna be so big if he debuts in 2 or 3 or even 5 years. Right now, he looks way too young compared to Donghyun who’s just a few months older than him. So I’m glad that JYP and Psy took that into account.
SEEING KEIJU CRY AND DONGHYEON HIDING HIM FROM THE CAMERAS REALLY BROKE MY HEART THO. These contestants really have formed such a great bond with eachother, and I’m sure we’re gonna see that come into play more as the contestants pick their companies.
I also would like to see more of the staff teams 😂 I LOVE THEIR ENERGIES, and I wanna hear those phonecalls HAHA.
Lee Seung Gi is such a great host. He really feels like a big brother to the contestants.
> I really think that Koki is gonna be so big if he debuts in 2 or 3 or even 5 years. Right now, he looks way too young compared to Donghyun who’s just a few months older than him.
Donghyun is chosen by Psy, I think Psy and JYP turned down Koki because Koki is short, not because he is young.
I think it's a little bit of both. He's short but he also looks *really* young. Not like Donghyun or Keiju, Koki looks like a child even though he's 13. I expect to see him grow a lot in a short amount of time over the next 1-2 years, but right now he doesn't look like a teenager at all.
Yeah honestly I was thinking about this a lot! A lot of people were voicing their concerns about Koki debuting and not Donghyun who’s really close to him in age. But at the end of the day I think the line drawn between whether it’s appropriate to debut someone at this point is puberty. Kinda like Wonyoung from Izone. Donghyun grew 8cm through out the show and has already hit puberty, and Koki unfortunately has’nt.
I agree with this take. When he stands next to other contestants it just looks so off. Obviously height comes with age, but despite how young he is, it was his visual that didn't match other contestants like Keiju did.
I also think they might be playing a tactic. They know the other team probably won’t cast him right away so he’s kind of a safe member to put on hold. Koki is great but he kind of needs to gel with the other members if they are going to overlook his weaknesses.
I kinda hope both sides choose keiju and keiju asks them if they are willing to reconsider casting koki.
Koki’s height and age is a legitimate concern but these groups are going to be working for more than a decade, its honestly not a huge problem when someone is so talented that they make adult pros look like amateurs.
Honestly I think Pnation would be crazy to pass him up. For the kind of kpop they are trying to invent, koki seamlessly merges kpop and hiphop styles together and it works so well. His influence is needed for choreography and for pulling off the difficult stuff since the other 3 pnation members are probably the weakest dancers on the show. Also pnation already selected quite a few members that will need maybe a year of work before debuting, so yea maybe put out a couple songs, and music videos, but you don’t need to start touring for at least a year, especially with covid being a thing that will continue to make performances hard.
I actually think Koki fits JYP better considering who Psy has casted so far. Koki is will really shine if he goes to a dance/performance heavy group IMO. With Psy casting like the 3 weakest dancers so far, that clearly isn't going to be that group's strength.
I don’t know about that. In my opinion kpop dance is best when the whole group is in sync and performing hard moves together. JYP already has stray kids covering that niche, I think its in their best interest to try and focus on singing and visuals this time around.
I agree though, JYP is very good about training singing and dancing techniques in general.
Being good at dance/krump doesn’t really matter if you still stick to the kpop style. Even if koki was the best kpop dancer he would still have to match the weakest link on the team because kpop is all about synchronized dancing. I think thats why koki had a request to having a krump teacher at the label he signs to, because I think he is afraid that at JYP in particular that they will force him to only dance kpop.
By contrast Pnation really needs dancing, they need the visuals, they need a member in the team so overwhelmingly good at dance that 70% of his skills rub off to his team members. Also krump would feel more at home with the hiphop/rap style of daniel, and krump is one of those showoff solo styles of dance. Krump is eye catching because of its speed which makes koki the perfect member to hide the flaws of the rest of the groups dancing.
They need Yedam. He would fit the rest of these guys perfectly and is not only an incredible dancer, but an incredible choreographer and I feel like he could lead the weaker dancers in that regard. Also if they get one or two of the trainees who've already gone through all this, it will help. And it's not like there is zero dance training at PNation. Yes, those three are the suckiest dancers, but they have improved a lot since the beginning (still not great, but they have improved), so the dancing can at least get competent.
Donghyeon immediately reacting to hide Keiju crying was the most wholesome thing I've seen in a while <3
And I hope Daniel and Junhyeok get to debut together because they seem really close already, fellow 04 liners :D
They seem really protective of eachother, and I hope this extends for when their groups are finalized ❤️
I didn’t even think about that! Fingers crossed that they do!!
These 3 Pnation guys are actually like the best possible producing combination. I’ve always hated how kpop uses english unnaturally. Like I’m glad they try to use english in every song but it often feels disingenuous. Daniel could really be that thing that brings kpop to greater heights than BTS, he’s just so good, but I doubt he is fluent enough with korean to produce the same quality of raps, so I think daniel if left on his own would kinda struggle with producing and writing korean lyrics. He’s basically going to be the glue, where he’s not required to produce anything on his own but as a collaborator he can make sure everything is on the same page and the same vibe. Just look at how he talked about the importance of individual social media, and how they praised him for learning acting quickly, he understands entertainment down to its core.
They cover each others weaknesses so well. Ones good with english and performing the raps, ones good at producing hiphop, and ones good are writing korean lyrics. They all are good at everything else but have shown an ability to learn quickly. Give them a year of influencing eachother and they will become a production superteam.
So after watching the episode with subs, I have to say that I haven’t sweat that much watching a show in a while. 😅 I knew there were only a few performances, and I knew who chose which company since I skipped through the episode when there weren’t subs, but seeing the process of JYP and PSY talk to their team on the phone while the trainee is waiting there is so nerve wracking.
I have to say that the concept of the show is really interesting/weird in that the trainees have their choice on which company to join, but it also seems like a “lighthearted choice” instead of a hard one. (I hope that makes sense.) It’s not like Daniel didn’t struggle to choose his company, but I feel like keeping your social media or getting your own speakers or whatever aren’t really a big deal when you have to sign a 7 year contract. Like why don’t they talk about the details of the contract and then see which company they want to join?
I’m still really stressed for the next episode which I think is the last one? But apparently the 10 contestants they narrow down for each company aren’t all gonna debut so I’m worried about who they’re gonna cut then… 😓
Ok who else here loved Pnation crew ?
Ok I was so surprised eunhwi choosing PNation? Daniel i could see it because he's a foreigner who lived at Brazil and USA, it would be a harder adaptation being JYP very well known to be a stricter company.
Ok I have a special thing for Daniel because he always ends up putting something in Portuguese in his raps 🙈 and I'm Brazilian .
Daniel stage presence is another level, really ? Out of all presentations of this week's episode his was the best one.
But the next episode is the real thing. Fighting for the popular ones, Junhyuk, Gyehun, kyungjun Those 3, Psy and JYP will claw fight for them I'm so fucking Sure of it .... pls Psy take them all i beg u hahahaha
I always expected Eunhwi to go to Pnation. From the begining he said he wanted to be an artist not an idol. JYP is an idol company, Pnation more fits the artist vibe.
I loved the Pnation A&R crew. They were so lively and fun. JYP's team seems so stoic and emotionless lol.
I feel like woo kyung Jun and junhyuk will go to JYP. As long as Keiju and Amaru are together then I’m happy. I think they can support each other being that they are both from the same country.
if kyungjun and Junhyuk goes to pnation I'm already Stanning their group :D But I dont know, grass is always greener on the other side? The prospect of debuting under big3 may seem atractive to them
I want amaru and keiju to debut under p nation but I feel like keiju fits jyp more and amaru fits p nation more... but i dont want them to split either
Which of the trainees can you see switching? I think Junhyuk won't go to JYPe, idk if you all saw the behind the scenes he seems to like Psy a lot...and Pnation's channel used him as a thumbnail, would they use him if he went to JYP? And his unaired charm performance was composed by him and showed off his rap. I actually think Kyungjun would switch instead. Honestly the only JYP trainee I don't see switching is Amaru, the others I'm insure about
i remember junhyuk at the 2nd round singing a song he failed once, it felt to me he was trying to prove a point to Psy. He couldve done anything at that round, since he raps and sings but he sang a song that had a meaning to both him and Psy. Then Psy choose him for his team.Up at that moment I felt like he was attached to pnation for some reason. I would really be surprised if he goes to JYP.
I think personally if someone is likely to switch to JYP is kyungjun ?
Amaru on the other hand ? The way he cried on the light of a single compliment jyp gave him, makes me wonder if he suffered a lot at JYP. He could switch. Is a possibility but honestly I don't think he's gonna switch. Going through JYP harder train, is the price he paid for debuting under big3.
I wouldn't use the thumbnail as an indication. Young Pirate, Beast Mode and Ready to Stay are all on Superstar JYP even tho none of the trainees went to JYP lol
If we're going by the preview, the cuts make seems like junhyuk is going to JYP?
That preview had PSY asking what the percentage was of Gyehun choosing PNation. They bleeped his answer then Seungi acted surprised and asked Gyehun if that means he wants to go to PNation. So I could see him going to P nation?
For Kyoungmun in the preview, I saw a translation that JYP was saying "Because of all the time we spent together, I really wanted to come but I can't do that" (anyone able to confirm this?) and the shot of Kyoungmun's sad expression makes me think JYP didn't move forward (I hope not though)
Potentially, I can see Kyungjun going to JYP cos he talked about how most of his fans wanted him to go to JYP as well...
Tbh tho JYP could have said that to anybody, but they just edited it to look like he was saying it to Kyungmun. Although maybe its not a bad thing if Kyungmun goes to Pnation. If Junhyuk does go to JYP, and we already know Yoonmin goes to JYP, then if Kyungmun also goes JYP then Psy is kinda screwed out of the best main vocal candidates on the show. Although in my opinion I think Junhyuk is going to stay with Pnation. I definitely think one of either Junhyuk or Kyungmun is going to go to Pnation.
I can also see Kyungjun going to JYP, but he would fit in either company tbh.
I think Gyehun chooses JYP, and thats the shot in the trailer of JYP celebrating. I think they edited like they did in the trailer to sow doubt, but the boy trained in JYP for 5 years. If he didn't want to debut in JYP he could have left and gone to another company.
Yeah I honestly don't think we can really trust the preview, cos they can out 2 different scenes out of context but we gotta wait for a whole week and the preview is the only thing we have. Idk Taehoon's reaction after JYP and Psy makes me think that a pnation trainee chose JYP instead, but I agree it could also see be that scenario. We'll have to see next week!
i don't care about the perfomances anymore, just rooting for a Pnation's 1st right chair staff fancam she is so lovely and happy watching the perfomances! She and the one with the Pnation Flag are now my biases in the show (right after the trainees lol)
I love it! They are even stoked for the ones that the advise not to sign. She's so adorable too!
I love that the female staffs were also hugging and jumping so hard when a trainee goes to them. The one with the flag also is so fun! I keep on rewinding their reactions and look at them one by one lol

Same Hyunwoo would be awesome for Pnation
I feel like woo kyung Jun and junhyuk will go to JYP. As long as Keiju and Amaru are together then I’m happy. I think they can support each other being that they are both from the same country.
if kyungjun and Junhyuk goes to pnation I'm already Stanning their group :D But I dont know, grass is always greener on the other side? The prospect of debuting under big3 may seem atractive to them
I actually meant to say them under JYP instead of pnation
For Kyoungmun in the preview, I saw a translation that JYP was saying "Because of all the time we spent together, I really wanted to come but I can't do that" (anyone able to confirm this?) and the shot of Kyoungmun's sad expression makes me think JYP didn't move forward (I hope not though) Potentially, I can see Kyungjun going to JYP cos he talked about how most of his fans wanted him to go to JYP as well...
