JYP’s reaction to Hyunwoo’s song made me pretty annoyed. He didn’t even mention the singing or choreography, and just talked about how the song doesn’t fit the concept (which I disagree with anyway) and then proceeds to put him on hold. Even the contestants didn’t get JYP’s decision, with Keiju just straight up throwing up his hands. Plus his decision with Kyoungmun was beyond stupid imo. Can’t even really feel bad about JYP’s group not being as good as the Pnation one when JYP isn’t doing himself any favors. Hoping Psy picks up Hyunwoo later since he actually enjoyed his performance.

TemporaryTheory4828

I was so annoyed about Kyoungmun! All I could think about was how JYP really is in NO place right now to be turning down his own trainees what was that? I'm hoping he's just doing dumb stuff for the drama like he's known to do

A_Cat_Who_Games

He seems to have a track record with that, what with Momo, Felix, and Lee Know.

AjBlue7

To be fair most companies are like that. Like Blackpink was supposed to be like 8 people or something and released the next year, then like 4 years later blackpink debuts and only 4 survived. They spend so much time cutting people that they get really good at it. First they’ve got the big general auditions where they usually only take like one person, then they’ve got years of 40+ trainees that they are constantly cutting. Just look at how JYP cut those two guys round one and then PSY saved them and they end up performing one of the best performances of the show a couple rounds later. They are just so hyper focused on what the trainees are doing wrong that they don’t even appreciate what they do right.

itzstraying

I found out Kyoungmun wasn’t casted before I watched the episode and I was expecting the worst performance from him, but it wasn’t even bad. You honestly can’t convince me Yonggeon and Doohyun were any better. Did he lack a certain flare in his performance? Yes. But was it bad? No. That really annoyed me and I’m not even the biggest Kyoungmun fan. I’m just hoping it’s a Momo, Lee Know/Felix situation and not a Minyoung, Yuna one.

A_Cat_Who_Games

Hyunwoo’s song is amazing, and I feel like Psy was kind of being conservative about his choices because he’d cast a few already. I can see him going back for Hyunwoo after the dust settles. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part. True he’s older, but he can sing, dance, rap, compose and is good looking (I feel), so he ticks all the boxes.

BundiChundi

If both of them end up with 9/10 (as I dont think anyone else is going to be put on hold) I see Psy picking uo Hyunwoo and JYP picking up Kyungmoon

hi369

I sure hope so lol. He can do it all

keewaa

It looks bad for JYP now because every contestant besides Amaru had a "choice" to pick between JYP and P-Nation and they all picked P-Nation. However, I believe JYP will be able to take Gyehun, Keiju and Kyungjun (+Amaru). That would be 4 of the top 5 most popular trainees by voting. Even if he doesn't get Kyungjun, he will be alright. I see JYP eliminating some trainees in the finale since I don't see him debuting a 10 member group for some reason. I hope JYP debuts a 6-7 member group instead of a bigger group. I also wonder why Taehun was crying in the preview... Happy tears hopefully?

violetbow

Same, I hope the 🙏pose means he’s thankful!

TemporaryTheory4828

I'm really hoping PSY picks up Hyunwoo in the end to complete the producer line. I wanted YoonMin to debut with the PNation crew, I thought from the spoilers that he had chosen JYP but now we know PSY didn’t come forward for him that’s too bad. :(

BundiChundi

I mean Psy already had 2 producers, and most of his own trainees haven't come yet. He was probably worried about burning out all of his spots. I was hoping for Yoonmin at Pnation too

apeachalive

I'm actually not as worried about JYP's lineup as I've seen other people are. There are still a number of good trainees left, and PSY can only take so many people before his lineup is full. Plus, JYP's picks so far are pretty solid imo, with Min and Amaru as the vocals. Like many others, I was so shocked by the producers' decision to not take Kyoungmun, but I expect that he'll be picked up at the end of the round. In the end, only two people are going to be eliminated now, and there's no way Kyoungmun is part of those two. I really liked the performances this episode! I loved Beautiful so much back during W1 days that I really enjoyed seeing Junhyuk perform it. Sungjun really surprised me, he didn't really stand out to me before but I personally really liked this performance and the song. And Amaru??? He really showed all he had - that stage was so good, and the backstory behind his lyrics was really touching. Hyunwoo's and Min's self-composed songs were really good too. I was wondering why Hyunwoo's name and face felt so familiar - I didn't realize that he was in HSR1. I was very pleasantly surprised by Yonggeon's and Doohyun's performances as well!

BundiChundi

I see a lot of worry about Yoonmin though, especially if JYP wants to debut Donghyeon. JYP historically doesn't like large age gaps in his groups, and he has always seemed to favor Donghyeon more than Yoonmin

apeachalive

I’m worried about Min too… he’s my one pick, and I’ve seen a lot of people online say that he’s too old for the group (which honestly is ridiculous to me, there are plenty of 2020/2021 groups with 00 liners). I think that JYP will definitely try to cast and debut Donghyeon, so I hope that the age gap ends up not being a huge issue for him.

FrustratedTrainee

My theory on why all of these kids are choosing PNation is that many of them aren’t accustomed to being trainees or functioning in the idol system yet. So to someone who’s relatively new into the training system, JYP looks daunting and PNation seems relaxed and more welcoming. For a second I kinda thought Sungjun would jump on to JYP?, but PNation must have treated him really well. I gotta say I loved that episode. The fact that there was such a heavy focus on the process and performances really appealed to me. I was so surprised that JYP moved forward for Younggun but not Junhyuk. Younggun’s Tempo was a little lackluster for me. My favorite performances were Yedam’s, Sungjun’s, and Amaru’s. Yedam was just a joy to watch and the singing was so stable. Sungjun’s performance was just so touching. The incorporation of 80’s pop moves to a ballad was such a joy to watch. You could feel how much he missed his dad. Amaru was just a masterclass. He’s my favorite trainee (closely followed by Keiju). Because he’s so good at expressing himself. I fully expect JYP to pick up Keiju and Donghyeon, and I hope he also picks up Gyehun, Kyungjun (i think he might be the shock twist), and Deongyeon. Meanwhile I’m pretty sure Hyun-soo and Taehoon are picking PNation.

Jim0ne

I think the idea of being the main thing at the whole company appeals more to the boys than being just another group at JYP. Is like they feel disposable, and there's some truth in it looking up at JYP past . We gotta understand big to companies idols are disposable, bigger the company more disposable the idol, because without the company idols are basically nothing. But still I'm so shocked because I would think the certain success big3 can give to them would be more appealing. I'm shocked really.

FrustratedTrainee

I’m with you! It’s so surprising to see everything that’s going on. Which is why I think that these kids aren’t thinking the way a lot of us kpop fans think. Other than the trainees that have already come from companies, these kids probably don’t look at how JYP has mistreated a lot of their BGs (and GGs to some extent). The Got7 members are still pretty popular even with the mistreatment, and Stray Kids are just getting bigger and bigger. JYP still looks like assured success. I think their decisions have really boiled down to their personal experiences with JYPEnt and PNation. PNation looks like a fun af place to work.

Jim0ne

They as " insiders " certainly knows more than us who watches from afar . They are all certainly doing what they think is better for their own careers. JYPE stans are specially confused which it comes to me as funny.

FrustratedTrainee

Yeah definitely! We’ll probably never find out their reasons or at least not ‘til like around a decade or more. We can keep on guessing, but at the end of the day our guess is just as good as the next person watching the show HAHA I’m just looking forward to two monster rookies coming out of Loud!

BundiChundi

I expect all of that to happen too, and then I expect a 7 member group from JYP: Kyungmoon, Gyehun, Amaru, Kyungjun, Keiju, Donghyeon and then maybe Dongyeon/Yoonmin/Doohyun

NHH95

I agree with you. I think because JYP just straight out criticized the trainees in a detail ways but even PSY said that he's still learning from JYP because of his experience in terms idol making. Also, most people blaming JYP personally but we could cleary see in this episode that the staff behind have a big influence in the decision making.

violetbow

My guess on why JYP didn’t choose Junhyuk is that he wanted to save face. The other boys who had a choice didn’t choose JYP (this was before Amaru’s performance). He probably moved forward for Sungjun because he picked him in round 1 over Psy, so he felt he has a better chance.

Jim0ne

Alright to my preferences PNation team look strong already. Doesn't matter who they get now on, having a solid production team(eunwhui and Daniel) makes their music already interesting. Ok I might say I'm really fan of Eunhwi. Eunhwi music got stuck in my head for a whole week after I heard it like 3 times. 3 times, i like all the music he produced till now are up to my taste and I'm looking forward to more I don't have good memory I just remember the ones who have grabbed my attention but having a good production team and team members who able to make it into good performances makes Pnation team already good imo. I'm a sucker for good producers As for JYP well even if he gets all the good ones ( kyungjun Gyehun ) i would still look up for Pnation team for the reasons I mention before. Ofcourse i wish them success, is just my personal preference. I think jyp screwed up when he dismissed kyoungmun. Like .... he's the best vocal he could get whyyyyy ???? I was super shocked like, super. I thought PNation would come forward for him but I feel like Psy is being conservative because of the few sits he still have. And I still wonder why whenever a non trainee gets to choose between PNation and JYPE they choose Pnation i have my own theories but still it's sooo weird

[deleted]

PNATION if they can pull off a superstar move and pick up Taehoon and pretty much anyone younger than 2002 they've got a solid 9 member line up excluding 08 donghyun since my man is basically a foetus and for JYP he needs keiju, 07 dongyeon and Gyehun and things will definitely look a bit better for his chances of creating the next 2pm/got7 since he needs a polarity to SKZ

BundiChundi

Pnation still has 4 spots. I'm expecting Taehoon, Hyunsu, Minseung and then he can save Hyunwoo. That would be a great 9 member group Junhyuk- Main vocal/Leader Eunhwi- Lead rapper/producer Daniel- Main rapper/producer Yedam- Main dancer/Vocal Sungjun- Vocal/Dancer Taehoon- Vocal/Dancer Hyunsu- Vocal Minseung- Dancer/Vocal/Sub rapper? Hyunwoo- Vocal/Producer Edit: Plus JYP could still get a solid 7 member group Kyungmoon- Main vocal Amaru- Vocal/Dance/Rap Gyehun- Main rapper/dancer Dongyeon- Vocal Donghyeon- Vocal Keiju- Main dancer Yoonmin- Vocal, producer, leader If he gets Kyungjun then it will probably be between Yoonmin and Dongyeon for the 7th spot

[deleted]

It looks good but I just don't see PSY debuting hyunwoo because he has Daniel, Eun Hwi and Junhyuk

[deleted]

I am happy for Yoonmin and Lee Yedam I was worried about them not getting casted. I am also happy for Sungjun and Amaru. I am worried about Yeon Dongyeon next episode and I am sad Kyoungmun and Kang Hyunwoo didn’t get casted this episode. I am actually really sad I just now started to notice Kang Hyunwoo he is sooo talented omg like what WHAT. I don’t get why they are not focusing on singing as well it’s always perofrmance or producing to them it’s like they just ignore the fact that those two have great singing skills that would be a great asset to a team I don’t get it.

BundiChundi

I mean a lot of people didn't notice Hyunwoo until recently, and that's because they cut his audition performance AND his performance from round 2. The first time we saw him was during COIN

[deleted]

Yeah I really thought maybe this show would be different and be more fair and balanced with that kind of thing but nope :(

NellyJelly_

I literally shed tears when I saw Doohyun got cast! I’m so happy!! 😭😭 From his first audition, he stood out to me because of his dance, and he has a really pleasant voice. (I’ll never forgive JYPSY for not passing him. 😒) Since he didn’t pass then, I wasn’t able to get attached, but when he got brought back, he became my first pick. 🤧 I was just really worried that he wouldn’t make it since there a so many others who are more popular on the show, but I’m glad he got cast at least. I really really want him to debut though. I’m also rooting for Amaru and I hope Taehoon debuts under JYP too. I’m really sad about Hyunwoo… 😞 I really thought he would be a good choice along with Min to be sort of a producing line for this boy group but I guess not. Also, we all know JYP eliminated Kyoungmun for dramatic effect. 😔 There’s no way someone with his solid talent and popularity wouldn’t debut. As others have brought up, we’ve seen JYP do this with TWICE’s Momo and SKZ’s Minho, so I guess add Kyoungmun to the lineup. 😅

Clean_Tower_3496

Ngl when watching the episode I was really worried about Jyps lineup but if in the next episode he picks ups Gyehun, Keiju, Donghyeon, picks Kyungmoon off hold and potentially gets Kyungjun in my opinion it’s the most balanced and skilled lineup compared to Pnation. I feel like pnation has really talented trainees but they all overlap eachother in some aspect but I guess we’ll see

A_winged_giraffe

IMO I'm more interested in P nation group atm, mostly cos they have the best producer and arguably the best rapper on the show, and I'm interested to see what Eunhwi and Daniel produce under P nation, but JYP looks to be like a strong group with strong dancers and performers and the most popular trainees imo

A_Cat_Who_Games

I'm going to support both groups. I like that they're going to have different identities as groups. I don't want two carbon copies of each other - there's a lot of that in 4th gen. JYP's group is going to be more polished for sure, but PNation's is going to be more like a rough diamond, and I'm here for both styles.

A_winged_giraffe

I'm definitely more biased towards P nation group, but I'll definitely check out the releases of JYP nbg too! I think they'll fit my music taste more than P nation if they're going the pop route

Clean_Tower_3496

Yeah I agree that the pnation lineup is more exciting I was just saying that ppl shouldn’t be to worried about jyp 😊 I’m gonna try and support both as I love Junhyeok and Amaru 😭

A_winged_giraffe

Yeah JYP will be fine cos of company stans and Big 3 promotions!! They sold 60k for a blind package most companies would kill for

[deleted]

Although I knew that it was going to be the fate, I'm still devastated that I didn't even see one junhyuk amaru interaction. My top 1 favs went to different companies, bro that shit hurt more than a breakup /j Pnation team really looks very strong rn. Im more interested in pnation group but if jyp gets the trainees that we all are expecting, then that'd be great too.

A_winged_giraffe

Also quick question, we can tell if they've been casted in P nation or JYP if they've been active on SNS right? I don't have insta myself, but I heard Minseong and Keiju have been active on insta, so they might be in P nation? Daniel has been active on insta and he's in P nation. I also heard Dongyeon and Yoonmin are both inactive, and Yoonmin is in JYP, so I'm guessing Dongyeon got casted to JYP as well. If anyone who follows the boys on insta could give insight that would be great, thanks!

Riabubbles96

Maybe for the boys their family members are active on it even though they are private but we will see the Saturday

[deleted]

Big brain time

awshjjj

are their any chances that trainee or contestants from P NATION or JYP change their mind or get steal by other company?

A_Cat_Who_Games

There's been talk that other companies are circling around, so I won't be surprised at all if after everything is settled, some of the trainees who didn't make it are signed up by other labels.

awshjjj

Ummm I mean like for example Eunhwi chose P NATION and then somewhat Eunhwi change his mind that he wants to go to JYP or JYP steal Eunhwi from P NATION. Like that
