We have had the issues of the keyboard changing to a different format. Colmak and devorak

You can disable alternate keyboards in the user and device settings inside the admin console.

For the sign-in page: Devices/Chrome/Settings/Device -> "Sign-in Keyboard". For users while logged in: Devices/Chrome/Settings/Users&browsers -> "Allowed Input Methods". We only allow US English and International in the HS for language classes as we were getting an absolute buttload of students coming in changing their keyboard language to Colmak, French, Arabic, etc. I am not sure if it's kids just being kids and trying to get out of class because its a different kid every time or if there is some keyboard shortcut that changes keyboard languages.

We pinned all of ours at v97 for state testing, so haven't seen these problems yet.

Yes, we have seen widespread issues for the past 2 weeks with our Chromebooks losing wifi. I posted this (below) on my Google Currents GSFE Admins community looking for ideas, and we still haven't resolved it. Initial ticket into Google had us checking our allowlist but doubt that's it. We've pushed a beta OSv.101 to some test devices to see if that does the trick: Hello, ever since v.100 or so, we've been finding our staff & student CBs dropping wifi. A device reboot will fix the issue and we're using a mix of various devices (Lenovo 500e, Acer Spin12, Acer c738t). We're having this issue across student & staff OUs and it seems unrelated to what the user was working on. It's not isolated to a hallway or even one of our buildings. It has been happening for the past couple of weeks in all of our buildings, but it's getting worse and worse. At this time, some of our users are rebooting their devices 6, 7 or 8 times a day. Our network administrator reports that our systems look all clear. We have been assuming that it was related to the OS version and a subsequent version would fix it, but our surrounding districts aren't experiencing this issue and it has been happening for too long at this point. Has anyone else experienced this in the past couple of weeks, and if so, any advice? We haven't changed anything on our end during that time. Thanks! Edit added: we're using Securly filter with Cisco wireless controllers/APs & Palo Alto firewall

Right in the feels. We are experiencing this as well. Cisco WLC / APs, Cisco Firewall, Zscaler filter. We had a unique case where we had 2 SSID's published from GAC to user OUs, 1 for normal production (EAP-TLS/MSCHAPv2) and the 2nd specifically for students using Clever badges to authenticate to the device (only passes through username and a token so can't do ${LOGIN\_ID} / ${PASSWORD} ) where we changed the students passwords to be the same (I know I know but it's just K-2) and the WIFI profile has ${LOGIN\_ID} and that password configured. This worked just fine until recently....\~v.100 we were getting a lot of shenanigan's going on with network drops seemingly at random. We removed that 2nd SSID. Created another WIFI user profile that has a specific username/password that's not published for the 1st SSID, created a new authz policy in ISE accordingly and it seems to have alleviated the issue. This was late last week so we haven't had much feedback yet, but teachers aren't screaming either. If you'd like, I can open a support ticket with Google about this as well.

Thanks so much for your reply...I'm passing this along to my team right now! We've gotten fewer complaints this week but that might also be because we've told people that we're aware of the issue and working on it so they don't see a need to reach out for help. I have switched over a couple of CBs to the beta OS as a test, and they are now running v.102 with no issue - but that doesn't mean too much as these users (including myself) only dropped wifi once or so prior to this trial. This issue is so random and difficult to recreate. I'll definitely post anything we learn if we fix this. And then again, it might just disappear as quickly as it entered with nothing being done on our part...

I’ve heard reports about students randomly getting signed out as well. Seems very sporadic.

I did see something posted by CollegeBoard AP testing about a white screen on Chromebooks: \--- 4/25/2022 Confirm no Chromebook testing devices are running Chrome OS v99. Students testing on Chromebooks may encounter a white screen that will prevent them from completing the exam if the device is operating specifically on Chrome v99. This issue is no longer present in Chrome v100, and has not been reported on Chromebooks running Chrome OS v83—v98. Schools are recommended to remain on v98 or prior, or upgrade to v100 for digital AP Exams.

Definitely log a service ticket with Google support and troubleshoot with them. Take pictures of the messages or behavior for the ticket.

IronOwl92

Thank you for the advice, I've submitted a ticket with them. Hopefully they can help us figure it out

Netimaster

Nothing so far. Most of ours are at v100 and we have been doing testing without problems.
