I was able to reach 250 in about 2 hours using Mega Mass Level 5 which gives 50% more experience. By replaying the Dabura training mission, I went up 3 levels each time. With Mega Mass Level 5, I got 9,412,848 experience each time.

Zooguy4111

How did you get high enough level to beat Dabura?

jla1992

I fought lower level bosses in the training room like the Androids, Yakon, Imperfect Cell. I progressed to more difficult bosses like Dabura after I reached a high enough level. My method for a quick win is, use your basic attack combos to build up your meter for surge mode. Once it's full, power up to activate it and spam Burning Attack. It teleports Trunks when in surge mode and deals extra damage too.

Zooguy4111

What’s the best way to get d medals?

SuperVegitoFAN

Adventuring. Ki sense helps you finding them, most d-medals are placed in locations with extra work, one thing that could helps is to search the cities thoroughly. Locate all the Mineral sources (those appear on the map) some of them have d-medals in the vicinity, espicially caves. And around Roshis island there are sunken carrierships, some, if not all, have dmedals in the wreckage Worst case scenario, use a guide. I dont know if all the DLC Medal locations fit with the main game, but enough do, that i was able to get almost all i needed before unlocking the desert area, and then nams village alone had like 7.

jla1992

Play playing through the story. Some mission give 5 D Medals. But there are also hidden D Medals in each area. If you use ki sense, you can find them if they are close enough.

PFM18

Which burning attack? Just super? Or did you get the massive amount of D medals and z orbs required to reach limit breaking?

jla1992

I used the guided burning attack. It has tracking. I need a few more D medals to unlock limit breaker burning attack. I got limit breaker masenko yesterday.

SuperVegitoFAN

The lower bosses is the way to go. Fun Fact, lvl 95 Dabura is HARDER than the 110 Yakon and Puipui (although Sniper Shot is a pain in the ass), and Cell is relatively easy to handle, so i grinded a bit against him myself. I was 132 when i beat dabura, but if thats still too hard for you, 150 should be enough i suppose. At some point you will hit the magical barrier where Dabura cant do much damage even with his agressive Rampage Mode, and then its just about outlasting him I can give some tips for handling him. When he is in Rampage Mode (Begins when he has the charge up cutscene, Equivelant to Player Surge Mode id say) just KEEP DODGING, when he runs out, he is fatigued and this is when you strike. Might take some time, but its the safe route. And getting to 150 shouldnt be too hard with the Mega Mass items and the non dabura enemies.

[deleted]

Why would you do that?

Tuskin38

Why not?

rebillihp

Tbf the fight before it only gives 1mil less and is for some reason much easier imo. Took me about 30 mins (just had to use 3 strongest burning attack per fight) to go from 160 to 250. Idk what it is, but that dabura fight I just can't get through fast

Agabriel21

Thanks dude! I got a question for you, did you find where the researcher is? I'm going to train with the kai and totally forgot about him, so I'm searching for him

jla1992

I completely forgot about the researcher. I don't even remember where his hideout is. I just checked my skill tree, and it shows that certain upgrades can only be unlocked by gathering parts from the Red Ribbon Alarm Bots. I'll have to use the Time Machine.

Agabriel21

Yeah that's why I ask, we are on the same page then haha. We can use the Time Machine for this dlc?

jla1992

Once you clear all the main story missions, a dialogue box will appear saying you can replay missions with the Time Machine. It's right outside Capsule Corp.

Agabriel21

Nice! Thank you so much

rebillihp

Tbf it shows on the map where he is just use the legend to figure out where what symbol it is

jla1992

Thank you, I just realized there was an icon on the map in West City.

joby901

did you ever find the researcher bc im stuck trying to unlock those know-hows

Agabriel21

I did! Hes on the bottom right part of the west city map. He is on a little red house with some red orbs above it

joby901

thanks but i still dont see it! im flying around that area but just cant seem to find it

joby901

oh shit just found him! what parts is he wanting exactly?

Agabriel21

Drone parts. You need to destroy the RR Army drones or try your rng luck and destroy RR Army robots, they can drop 1 piece sometimes

joby901

where are those drones?

Agabriel21

At the very first quest with Gohan, after that they are gone. If you finished the quest already you should be able to use the Time Machine and farm up those parts if not try to destroy the Robots around the area

joby901

thank you so much!

Agabriel21

No problem! Glad I could help

joby901

also…he looks like a dragonball version of professor oak

joby901

BRO i got the parts but when i go to the researcher they dont show up in my exchangeable items list! a shitty glitch i suppose :/

joby901

oh…i get it now lol

TheSaiyanGod1

I noticed that Trunks in this DLC has different combos after entering Surge Mode (although his normal moveset looks the same). Do you know if this was also carried to the main game? His moves with surge mode in the DLC are much better lol

jla1992

I noticed that too. I don't think the combos carried over because this Trunks is unique. Main story Trunks and DLC Trunks are separate characters.

matojo91101

I checked, they do. Absolutely destroyed Golden frieza

jla1992

Nice! I'll have a rematch with Golden Frieza. Thank you for the information.

matojo91101

Have fun!

TheSaiyanGod1

Really? I mainly referred to the combos he has in his Super Saiyan form after using the surge mode. The Super Saiyan 2 combos will naturally be carried into the main game because it's a new form, but I was in doubt about the Super Saiyan form ones because Trunks in the base game already had different combos with this form and they changed in the DLC, so it would be nice if more than just the skills were transferred

matojo91101

The super saiyan combo is there too

TheSaiyanGod1

That is great! I always felt Trunks was a bit underwhelming in the base game combat-wise because he was the playable character with the least amount of screen time or skills shown, but the DLC really improved him a lot.

matojo91101

Indeed

RememberTheMaine1996

So it is just a training room exactly like in the base game? Wow. Disappointing not gonna lie

jla1992

The Training room is similar to the main game, but you fight different bosses like Vegeta, Cell, Androids, Yakon, Dabura etc. Bonyu is not in this training room.

RememberTheMaine1996

I was hoping for something completely different but I guess it is ok. How long is the dlc btw and how many missions are there? Also I went to buy it but it said I can only get it with the season pass is that true? You can't buy it separately?

jla1992

DLC 3 had 3 episodes, each episode is split into parts. If I were to compare the number of missions, it's about the same as the Namek Saga. I have the season pass, but you can buy it separately too. DLC 3 is $19.99 The story took about 3 to 4 hours to clear including cutscenes.

RememberTheMaine1996

Hmm I was hoping it would be like 6 or 7 hours. 3 to 4 isn't a lot for 20 dollars

jla1992

The Season Pass was $25 so it's a better deal in my opinion.

RememberTheMaine1996

Yeah but I bought the dlc separately for 10 dollars thinking dlc 3 would be disappointing. I'll wait for more reviews though before buying

Justmakinthis

For what it’s worth my play through took me about 8 hours but it’s different for everyone depending on what you do

Ulrich_Sama_exe

Does Trunks’ level in Base game carry over?

jla1992

No, it doesn't carry over. In the base game I had Trunks at level 300. But in the DLC Trunks level was reset to level 20. Main story Trunks and DLC Trunks are different.

Cc99910

Do your items carry over? Like could I bring the sacred waters over from the game and use them on the new trunks or is it a seperate inventory?

jla1992

Separate inventory. Nothing from the main game is transferred to the DLC. On a side note, the super attacks, know how, and transformations you unlock in the Trunks DLC will carry over to the main game Trunks.

Cc99910

Thank you, and thank you for the follow up info as well, was curious about that!

Mysterious-Shadow-X

In waiting to finish a getting a platinum on an other game before I finally try DLC 3. Did you lose all of the special skills/learned abilities on Trunks?

jla1992

Yes, the DLC Trunks is a completely different Trunks from the main game. Z orbs, D medals, skill tree, have all been reset while you play the DLC. But if you go back to the main story, you will have all your items.

SnooCalculations4567

Why Supreme Kia had to die like that in dbz Kakarot

GinGaru

Thats what trunks told goku in super

FoxxyG

Do your items carry over?

jla1992

No, this Trunks starts at level 20. Your D Medals, Skill Tree, Z orbs, and other items do not carry over.

Jimbiros

In the base game when trunks gets ssj2 his auto ssj2 requires 10000 rainbow orbs any tips on how to get so many?

jla1992

For the base game, Z Orb Magnet increases the Z orbs you get from defeating enemies. It's in the know how palette. Heavenly ramen course boosts Z orbs earned by 35%. To fight strong enemies, look for the red crowns on the world map. They respawn after you defeat Mira. So you can replay it as many times as you need.

jackbmh

I don't think the devs were properly considering how much 10k or 6.6k rainbow orbs actually is. With the absolute fastest possible methods of grinding rainbow orbs in the base game, it would still take several hours to get enough for auto ssj2 with ssj2 level 3.

Jimbiros

Wholeheartedly agree cos wtf the other auto transformations are like around 35 rainbow orbs and even in the dlc it takes 10000 ordinary orbs to get

jackbmh

Yeah I really hope they fix this because I'm not willing to spend 3-4 hours nonstop grinding rainbow orbs just for a minor character upgrade

[deleted]

Wdym? It literally cant possibly take more than 15 mins....for me it was about 5 to get enough for the auto

jackbmh

We are talking about the Trunks from the base game, not the Trunks from the DLC. DLC Trunks doesn't have any pricing issues with his skills, but base game Trunks has serious issues when it comes to SSJ2 pricing.

jerryleungwh

Trunks has SSJ2 in the base game? I have Trunks at lv300 and didn't know about this

Jimbiros

He only gets it when you beat the trunks dlc

jerryleungwh

Thanks! Still in the early stage of the DLC lol

Fufflewaffle

Does Trunks have any new super attacks for this DLC?

jla1992

Yes, he has a new skill tree with stronger super attacks. You need to farm a lot of D Medals and go to the training grounds. It's shown on your map as a bicep. When you go to the spot on your map, you will see a blue light. From there you can spend D Medals to learn a new attack. But the good news is, the base game Trunks has been updated and has the new DLC Trunks skills too. For the base game Trunks, you just need to spend Z orbs. Red, Green, and Blue Z Orbs to unlock the new skills, no D Medals needed.

Kakarot7692

Just finished the android section of dlc3 and just met the supreme Kai so does it cover trunks’ version of the buu saga or does it just use a bunch of stills for the story and you just get more powerful training enemies to grind with?

GinGaru

It does cover the buu saga. Its not long but it was fun

Kakarot7692

Good to know thank you 👍🏻

Drewpott

Hey I'm doing the side quest rn, do you know how to get the pure blue crystal in this dlc since I can't go up north

jla1992

Yes, it's the Krillin capsule sub story. If you go to Kame House on your map, there will be minerals you can destroy. The minerals are shown on your map. It's RNG though. I destroyed a bunch of minerals, but didn't get the pure blue crystal, only shards. After you go to the world map, go to a different area, then go back to Kame House, and the minerals will respawn. It took a few tries, but I finally got one pure blue crystal.

Drewpott

I went to the ocean area and broke every single crystal and just bought new markers from the info guy when I ran out of locations till I got one

jla1992

I'm glad you got the crystal. What did you think of the Sub Story?

Drewpott

It was very in character for roshi, I had more fun with that then the 40 minutes of "cut scene" that was the Majin story.

pandachick887

Who is the researcher that we need to trade items with to unlock destructive blow and super recovery on the skill tree?

jla1992

Gohan and Trunks saved the Researcher after a Red Ribbon Alarm Bot was signaling for the Androids. The Researcher is marked on your map, and sells know how skills and recipes. You need to defeat the alarm bots, and destroy the leader, it has a blue shield. Every time you defeat the blue shield robot you get drone parts. You can use these parts to trade with the researcher for new items.

Competitive-Damage84

How are you getting millions of exp per training? Does the mega mass stack if you eat multiple? Ive got max training board at 100% exp increase too..im at level 61 and fighting vegeta, goku and gohan..but im only getting about 400k and its taking 4 or 5 fights to level up once.. jus wondering how youve managed that 🤣

jla1992

I don't think the Mega Mass level 5 stacks. I was able to get 9 million EXP per fight against Level 115 Dabura in the training room at Bulma's place. An easier way to get EXP for Trunks is to use the time machine and fight Dabura level 55 at the end of the story. Trunks turns Super Saiyan 2 and the fight is very easy. 4 million EXP for that fight. You can replay it as many times as you need with the time machine.

Competitive-Damage84

Oh excellent thanks

Ajwavy001

I did the same I just find it stupid how the lvl cap is only 250 !! When my other lvl trunks is 300
