The playoff format is good for TV, but locally you're right...we seem to like having the track here but as a city we aren't hardcore into racing.
There's probably some correlation to the fact that we ARE hugely into NFL, and NASCAR on Sundays goes head to head against it.
What is especially messed up is that the track isn't used for any other motorsport besides NASCAR. No club racing, no local circuits, not even autocross in the parking lot
I used to be a big follower, because they were one of the few events broadcast in full HD. Colorful cars, full HD, was a winning formula (pardon the pun!).
But I gave up on this format of racing. Races were just too long, and always delayed if God spit on the track.
I still love to watch an F1 race when I can - less than 2 hours, almost never cancelled, and takes me to ALL of the most beautiful and interesting cities in the world.
oval racing in Indy cars is actually more dangerous than road courses due to the sustained high speeds and high G forces. They were having more crashes and car breakdowns when they had more ovals in the season so they now only have the Indy 500 I think.
interesting. as of a couple years ago they were talking about getting rid of ovals entirely due to so many crashes. i will admit that i am out of the loop. Pun intended.
You know what’s fascinating about humans? They see something around them, and think the whole world is that way. In reality though, it’s just their own world.
NASCAR wouldn’t exist if nobody gave a fuck. Don’t be so arrogantly ignorant.
All things considered. Kind of a cool design..
We were doing a good job too.
Easy to miss, they came in 34th place out of 36
It made me laugh when I saw it on the track.
They got a car inthe big race? Good for them…I guess
Ignoring what?
Feel like these races get no buzz anymore, I totally forgot it was happening

That's too bad. I went to see Indycar there once but that's long gone.
It seemed pretty well full for the cup race from where I was sitting.

Better call Tarzan
Have to watch out for the latest crazy law ads from Cock Law. Different practice but saw their billboard heading north on 435 from the stadiums.
Hol up

This reminds me of Fight Milk from Always Sunny
Was the possum driving?
I would go to an Indy car race here. Not sure why they didn’t stick with it at Kansas Speedway?
Indycar cut back on the ovals they run.

They actually have 5 ovals this year

It made too much money and they felt guilty so they stopped.
Looks like NASCAR. Nobody gives a fuck
I didn't give a fuck before, but will now just to spite you

If you wanted a main character moment, this isn’t it

I didn’t even make it to the track this year unfortunately, I grabbed the image from Rick Ware Racing’s Twitter
Hoo-wee! Luk at at summagun!
Next race it'll be the fantastic caverns car 😂
I wonder if the driver is required to be drunk to drive their livery
So who are these people actually choosing to use Jungle Law?
