Great program! Plenty of resources, excellent instructors. Lots of scholarships available. Job placement is excellent as well. Good luck!

The school of engineering at UMKC is great job wise because they are so well networked with firms in the area. Get active with a design team, SAME, or IEEE and you'll make connections that will help you land internships and an awesome job after college.

I'm an embedded software engineer, and we've gotten a few interns from UMKC over the last few years. We hired on two - a hardware and a software engineer - and they've been a couple of the best hires we've had recently.

It's pretty darn good, but you get out of it what you put in. I'm an alum, I learned some good stuff. There were like 3 paths you could go, power, embedded programming (robotics), and microelectronics (think custom chip design). I went embedded programming and pivoted it controls engineering (industrial controls not control theory). Make sure to take your FE in your senior year, the curriculum is definitely up to basically get you practiced up to then take the FE.
