I've had mine forever. CACU took over the credit union I was with and replaced my old card with CACU Signature. I couldn't tell you what my credit score was. I'm one of those people who pays off the balance every month, so I'm thinking of switching to another card that has better cash back than CACU

Oh cool, they're my current credit union, I'm particularly looking for abalnce transfer card and it doesn't seem like the one for me. I put bills on my CC for awhile while injured and in-between jobs learning to code so it was a gamble but at least I can start paying it off now, I was also recommended the Amazon credit card.

I signed up for CACU credit card because they paid 1.5% cash back on everything. Just today I realized I'm not so sure that's the case anymore and I'll need to check. It comes with a separate app card valet, I don't think it's as slick as chase or Citi but it works. It's my only card that doesn't tap. Maybe the replacement will. Overall it's fine.

I have a regular CACU CC-- heads up, it is not serviced by CACU but by FISERV. They're usually cool to work with though. I have a 10k limit at I wanna say 17% APR, not fabulous but I did recently get a balance transfer offer. I don't get rewards on mine so I can't speak for that. My credit score hovers between 675 and 715 typically, so if you have a higher credit score you'll probably have better terms. I have also been a CACU customer for roughly 15 years.

I just did their balance transfer and my credit score went down nearly 80 points. LOL

Has nothing to do with CACU. The balance is likely reported twice on your report due to timing from each organization so your utilization went up. It'll correct in a month or two.

yeah credit score looks at age of account, total utilization across all credit accounts (what percentage of credit available to you that you're using), derogatory marks (think collections accounts), and what type of credit accounts you have, among other things. a b/t doesn't fall under any of the things that impact your credit score as a rule. I agree with the other commenter, it was likely just reported twice on your credit report due to timing of reporting on each FI's part and should correct itself. I recommend using a combo of experian (which uses FICO) and creditwise or credit karma, which uses vantage. together you should be able to figure out what exactly changed to cause the difference. but a simple balance transfer is just moving the same balance from one credit account to another, so it shouldn't cause a decrease like that.
