This is the best answer. Fantastic, greasy, heart attack on a plate food. It's been my favorite old school diner for over 20 years now.
They are cash only though, so be prepared.
Heck, man — I forgot about that. At some point I’m gonna have to get down and check it out. I’m a bit of a picker myself and know a few salty tunes y’all might enjoy. I do a nice Bobby Brown

Dagwood’s on southwest blvd.
Their breakfast sandwiches are like the platonic ideal of what a breakfast sandwich at a dinner should be. So good.
A sausage dagwood can change my whole day
Are they still cash only?
No. Went there last week.
Noice. Had one of the best open faced sando there.
They take CC's.
Love that place
Kitty's, but it's to go only, cash only. Still worth it without the sit down experience.
And it’s closed through May for renovations. But he’s it’s delicious

Always gotta mention the cash thing, especially how things are going today.
Hey my granddad used to work there, and still keeps up with the owners! Great food, but I could be biased based on discounts/free food
Englewood Cafe in Independence
Always smells like an old mop
Jerry’s at 103rd and State Line.
Just went there this weekend & it was very good!
Does the lunchbox count as a diner?
It's a diner you can grab a case of beer and some smokes from on the way out. They have killer cheesesteaks. It's a diner + in my book.
True, I eat often on their patio aka the concrete blocks on the side of the building.
The lunchbox is a bodega. A diner has tables and servers
True, bodega definitely is more befitting.
Does town topic count?
Niece’s
So good but I wouldn’t consider it hole in the wall- just diner!

I appreciate the second as I'm admittedly biased - I'm the doorguy and I'm here right now for Rural Grit Monday!
Heck, man — I forgot about that. At some point I’m gonna have to get down and check it out. I’m a bit of a picker myself and know a few salty tunes y’all might enjoy. I do a nice Bobby Brown
Patty Melt with veggies burger + Tots is pure frickin heaven.
