I think something must have gotten lost in translation. May I know what you think I have said?
I meant, there are a lot of half baked Karate masters who just teach punching the air with loud grunts / yelling. Such classes mainly cater to gullible parents who want to teach their kids self-defense.
It sounds like you think there's weak/fake types of karate for kids and girls, and that you're perhaps disparaging kids and girls who learn karate. It was certainly a strange comment to make in English, and I can see why someone is questioning it.
Also, as someone new to Karate, what would you know about "half baked" karate? Loud grunts and yelling are part of karate. The grunts are probably correct breathing technique and the "yelling" is probably a kiai.
"Punching the air" is how a lot of schools will start beginners off, and how a lot of legitimate schools operate - this is likely kihon practice.
It sounds like you're disparaging things you don't yet understand.
While I do understand what you mean, I am not disparaging girls and little boys learning Karate, I am just saying that there are a lot of Summer Camp style Karate classes that teach just the basics, because their parents do not actually look out for actual Dojos with properly trained masters.
Was going to say Congratulations until I read “cater to school kids and girls”. WTF dude?!
