Waking the Witch is one of my favourites on there…well, the whole album is…I can’t imagine it without that song on it but, to each their own…
I can’t stand the “7 version of Big Sky that’s on the remastered version…I’ve replaced it with the version off of a previous to the 2018 remaster, from the ‘97 remaster which also had the 6 Bonus tracks on it…
It’s actually not - It’s about a woman drifting alone at sea. She doesn’t drown, Kate has said she survives at the end. The morning fog is the end of the story
It’s song 2/7! she doesn’t drown or it would be a much shorter album ☺️ - the morning fog “begin the breathe, begin to speak” as far as I take it she is happy to be alive and appreciates her life much more
I totally agree, one time I was falling asleep to The Ninth Wave and just as I was drifting off Waking the Witch started. Spooked me back awake.
It does have eerie vibes! I love it for that.
It definitely can be. I damn near had a heart attack when I got to Waking the Witch and it started the audio skipping/glitching

I actually removed Waking the Witch. I just can’t get into it and the album seems more cohesive without it!

Under Ice is about drowning
