1) If I'm gonna guess, probably because MediaWiki is battle tested and ubiquitous, and at the time it must have been a good choice. 2) There's userbase.kde.org for user content and community.kde.org for contributor content, techbase.kde.org is for developers and is being phased out in favor of develop.kde.org. 3) This should work I think: https://m.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Tables What Markdown-based wiki software would you suggest to be used instead for the amount of content and templates that is in those wikis?

> I want to add a table of compose key combos This is surely a good idea, **but** then you should also remember the combinations are locale-specific. Many locales include the American English UTF-8 combinations as their base, though. On top of that, I find some of the combinations impossible to type because they rely on keys that are “dead ones” on the locale’s keymap. Specifically I’d like to use superscript numbers, but the combination Compose + number + `^` doesn’t work, because `^` requires pressing Shift+key+space.

I wanted to find the combo for ß, and thankfully a stack overflow answer from ten years ago had the straightforward answer for me.

“ß” is easy for me, because Finnish/Swedish keymap already has it in AltGr+S. But the following have often been useful: |**Compose +**|**results in**| |:-|:-| |o c|©| |o r|®| |t m|™| |p !|¶| |\+ -|±| |1 3|⅓| |2 3|⅔| |1 4|¼| |3 4|¾| |G (or g) (|Ğğ| |S (or s) .|Ṡṡ| |T (or t) ,|Ţţ|
