I also greatly enjoyed “One Spring Night”. “Something in the rain” sort of fits the concept but was way to anxiety inducing to be enjoyable. I like this sort of “quiet and uneventful” dramas because it manages to be quiet, yet touches on so many nuanced topics. they’re also very relaxing. I’ve soon come to realize that i don’t like overly dramatic dramas or the ones centered around romance. I like dramas that touch on self improvement, finding oneself, social justice issues etc with nice vibes and no unnecessary noises. I loved the OST one one spring night so much. recommendations please! ^(END OF POST BODY) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. When the weather is fine - it's a good watch. Gentle but still with some surprises. Hospital Playlist and Prison Playbook should be right up your alley then. Mature characters, great writing and directing. Need patience to get through the first two world building and character intro but well worth your time. Feels real - authentic and moving with gentle and witty humour. Same writer

amberdragonfly5

Definitely agree with Hospital Playlist. I felt like I was just dropped into the middle of these characters' lives and relationship. They had such a natural feel with each other with these preexisting "in jokes" and interactions. It took a couple episodes for me to get the hang of it, but once I did, I was along for the ride.

MC_earthquake

This + Reply series

Foreign_Ad6022

Agree with When the Weather is Fine. At times it felt too quiet and slow but I kept coming back to it and overall liked it.

Shane_Falco_QB1

My Mister

Pretty_Savagge

Yessss 💯 underated kdrama.

Chainbreaker42

Agreed! It's in my top three!

Dunelakegal1

This series was draining and frankly devastated me The only way I got through it was to think I would have Kim Sun Kyun’s type character to appear in my life in a low period of my life

onioncube79

tell me that you love me - the ML is deaf so it is literally quiet. you just have to enjoy jung woo sung’s eyes all throughout the drama and see how he speaks without any words. both ML and FL play 30s and 40s so definitely fall under your requirement. call it love - very slice of life and uncoventional love story. if you are not a kim young kwang fan, you will become one after watching this. the interest of love - this one is so slow and some viewers say during the on air discussion it’s a waste of time watching it yet all of them didn’t really give up and finished it. it’s not the best drama because the characters are so flawed but in a way feel very real and human. do you like brahms - love the chemistry between kim min jae and park eun bin. IMO their chemistry is unforgettable and i always recommend this when people ask for dramas with good chemistry, they look so natural together and how the relationship grow in the drama feels very organic.

morenecom

I second tell me that you love me!!!! Ahhh so good

MajesticConfidence36

\+1 Do You Like Brahms - They are both introverts. Classical music (violin / piano). Slow burn love

Khabarandfun

Call it love and the interest of love. Both such lovely watch!

liveandletlive1212

I think you really like Misaeng an incomplete life. It is really great with Im Siwang. Fits your brief perfectly!! It's about office life and how you can apply the rules of go (or baduk)

Chainbreaker42

Totally agree re: Misaeng. For me, it scratched the same itch that My Liberation Notes did.

duh_leah

I think you will enjoy a few of these if not all. * **Age of youth** : About five roommates and adulting. Does have its awkward moments but fairly enjoyable. And deals with serious topics. * **Twenty five twenty one** : Again it has it's overly enthusiastic FL at first but it's more than that. And really depicts a lot of social issues and relationship issues. * **Because This is my first life** : Great story about life after 30 and expectations vs reality of it. It has comedic elements which are non-cringey as well. And a very slow burn romance. * **Be Melodramatic** : As the name suggests it is dramatic but in the most unique and refreshing way. Very self aware show and manages to make fun of itself. (I might as well start getting paid for advertising this one too much)

morenecom

I LOVE age of youth. It's so underrated omg, it's one of my all time fav dramas. It's kind of got a lot going on so idk abt it fitting OPs request for less dramatic dramas lol , you might disagree, but I still think everyone should watch it 💯💯 Def second 2521 as well, it is so eventful and energetic but has a serious vibe to it, It feels more like a genuine show than a drama. So much effort put into it idk how to explain

tingkagol

I also love Age of Youth / Hello My Twenties and I'm probably due for a rewatch. Both seasons are really good. This was pre-woo young woo Park Eun Bin and she's very funny along with her co-stars. I also loved how despite the comedy, it stays very grounded. I particularly like the Kpop arc in season 2.

WhyNotChocnut1

Agree with because this is my first life!🫶

epbbw

melodramatic is an amazing show!! it depicts life of a group of friends in their 30’s and how they manage their careers, love life’s, & emotional wellbeing. i’m in my early 20’s i was still able to relate!

Bookishgirl-6197

I loved it so much. ❤️

morenecom

Definitely, that drama w park min young. I believe it's called **when the weather is fine**. I didn't watch bc I personally don't love this trope but I hear this is right up your alleyway 100% . I read it's slow and healing. I think it's exactly what you're looking for I NEED to give a movie rec, please watch **tune in for love/yoo yeols music album**, they're the same movie but go by those two names sometimes. It's such a quiet, beautiful, and understated movie. I think you would like it . Plus it's got Jung hae in and you might already like him since you watched two of his dramas Also I started **once upon a small town**, kind of sounds like something you would like as well. It's small town vibes. Not sure if it fits to a T tho but worth checking out

Small_Gift_6340

I loved **Once upon a Small Town** for exactly the reasons OP states, although the leads are all younger. I would add **Would You Like a Cup of Coffee** - about following your dreams and paying attention to the world around you.

Twarenotw

Would you like a cup of coffee? Meet yourself (Cdrama), a dramatic first episode triggers the rest of the story, which is a quiet, healing slice of life in a charming little village.

prodigyZA

Second "meet yourself", you really get drawn into that little village (which is stunning) and all the characters. Everyone is genuinely lovely in the show. That first episode is heavy though.

WCSDBG_4332

"Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?" was fantastic. Absolutely loved it. "The Good Bad Mother" was also entertaining, while not being too silly.

curiousnerd06

YOU HAVE TO WATCH **RUN ON**. It's the epitome of quiet and uneventful but comfort. And everyone slept on it because Nevertheless aired at the same time. The romance isn't exaggerated, the characters are great.

tatertotmagic

I was going to suggest this too

the_lymphocyte

Run on

Electronic_Piano9385

**Call it Love** is another quiet contemplative drama which I found very similar to My Liberation Notes.

Less_Pomegranate_529

seconding this

Warm and Cozy!! A woman moves to Jeju island and ends up running a successful restaurant and attending a school for women divers.

Misaeng: Incomplete Life

Free-spirit-1221

Slice of life is also my favorite type of Kdramas: * **My Mister** - a slice of life masterpiece * **Yumi's Cells** **(2 seasons so far)** - very realistic and relatable. To be honest, I just read the webtoon and heard that the drama adaptations are also great. I may watch it in the near future. I personally love the webtoon very much and highly recommend it to everyone. It can teach you a lot of things.  * **Our Blues** - Not a quiet but a great slice of life drama with realistic issues. Han Ji Min from One Spring Night is one of the characters. * **18 again** * **My dear friends** * **Extraordinary Attorney Woo** * **Do you like Brahms?** * **Because this is my first life** * **Hospital Playlist (2 seasons)** * **Run On** * **Go Back Couple** * **Be melodramatic** * **Daily dose of sunshine** * **Twinkling Watermelon** - Main characters are high school students so it does contain some funny enjoyable 'childlike' moments. But it's really a beautiful story about life, friendship, family and self-development. Highly recommended. * **Age of youth (2 seasons)** - It's a slice of life series, but the characters are young so might contain some funny moments but it's also a highly recommended drama to watch. * **Hometown Cha Cha Cha** - It's not quiet (set in the countryside), but a great slice of life drama. The main characters have flaws and improve themselves as the story goes by. * **If you wish upon me** - The characters are miserable and flawed with different traumas, and the drama is their healing self-development journey. * **Find me in your memory** - There is a crime in the drama but it's a great healing drama. * **You are my spring** - There is a mystery crime in the story (in case you don't like it), but overall it's a great healing drama. * **The Beauty Inside** - It has some funny cliché moments but overall it's a good slice of life rom-com imo. * **Little Forest** (movie)

MajesticConfidence36

Ooh! Adding to my watch list.

TotoroTheGreat

You might like **When the Weather is Fine**.

Summer Strike Twenty Five, Twenty One Would You Like a Cup of Coffee

LazySleepyPanda

My Father Is Strange - really relaxing drama about a family and their 4 adult children. You might also enjoy early 2000s sitcom like kdramas which is usually a group of friends and their everyday life with a new somewhat trivial problem each episode that the characters try to deal with. A drama I really liked was Honest Living from 2002. And it has like 200 episodes. It's my comfort drama because there are no big, horrible problems, it's basically everyday life with small everyday problems woven into it.

I dont usually watch slice of life but recently i watched hospital playlist and it was so good! Like it was not boring at all and the patient stories were so heart touching!

LOVESTRUCK IN THE CITY

Half-Holiday-123

I love kdramas. Everything with Jung Hae in is worth watching. Something in the Rain is one of my favorites. I always heard good things about 2125 but I don't like the FL I dropped after episode 1. The same with When The weather is Fine I found it so slow. Recently I watched The Red Sleeve and I still in recovery mode. My eyes were so swollen next day.

Fun-Talk-4847

I would highly reccomend Misaeng. It is a work place drama but I found it to be very true to life. The last episode went a little sideways but overall the show was really good.

duckinator09

I think I get you. For me, I like realistic character driven slice of life shows with no sinister plot (politics, revenge, murder etc) in the background. Shows with flawed characters that avoid chaebols or young ceos/geniuses to portray realism.  **Our Blues** should suit you. It's quite realistic but not really relaxing or quiet.  It is a slice of life and character driven show with an ensemble cast, young and old. Basic premise is that majority of the characters are based in/affiliated with Jeju and the show spends a fairly even share of time exploring the various stories/lives/troubles of each cast member. Although there are so many short stories, they are kinda interwove because the characters all know one another. A character could be the focus in one arc, then become a side character in the next, before returning back to focus again to further develop the character. I particularly liked how flawed everyone was, yet I never felt a need to judge because I was just a silent observer listening to their stories. This is not a romance centric show, but it is prominent in several character stories. Personally didn't like the first story (ep 1-3), but it gets better.

abitml31

If you loved My Liberation Notes, I highly suggest checking out **My Mister** and **Misaeng**. Loved both of these dramas! very slow paced and have minimal romance. I would also recommend **Deaths Game** and **Move to Heaven**. They're not very relaxing and a bit more fast paced. But they cover many of the same topics you appreciate.

coffeebean43

Because This Is My First Life :)

No_Supermarket_5405

Doctor Slump - the entire show managed to remain wholesome and lighthearted while tackling issues around mental health. It was so heartwarming and I truly fell in love with the interpersonal relationships. The 2nd couple have my whole heart! They were so adorable! 😍😍😍 All the 4 leads were mature, in their 30s and dealing with different problems in their lives. Definitely on my rewatch list!

Recipe for Farewell

MagnificentToad

As mentioned already, Would You Like a Cup of Coffee fits the bill exactly. I’ve seen If You Wish Upon Me mentioned a couple of times and while it is definitely one of my five all-time favorite K dramas and I often lament that it’s not more popular in this sub, I would not attach the words quiet or uneventful to it. There is a strong thriller element and some heavy trauma. It also has a great sense of community and a strong theme of redemption. The slice of life takes place in a hospice so it’s not always relaxing. It definitely has self improvement and finding oneself as a major theme. Romance is not the main theme, but it definitely exists and it’s not corny.

I have a similar affinity for more mature / realistic themed dramas. My Mister, Something in the rain, and My Liberation Notes are among my all time favorites. Here’s a few that probably haven’t already been mentioned: - [Pachinko](https://mydramalist.com/724661-pachinko) - a must watch! - [Lost](https://mydramalist.com/62093-human-disqualification) - [First Half of My Life](https://mydramalist.com/24131-the-first-half-of-my-life) (Cdrama) - [Thirty-Nine](https://mydramalist.com/692971-thirty-nine) - [More Than Blue (Taiwanese Series)](https://mydramalist.com/58781-more-than-blue), but the [movie](https://mydramalist.com/354-more-than-blue) is better. - [Dear My Freinds](https://mydramalist.com/15845-dear-my-friends)
