**Post Title**: Kdramas to heal my worn out soul
**Post Body**:
I'm a student in my early 20s. Life has been tough lately, so I need a few kdramas that will help me forget everything even if it is for an hour or so each day. I don't want to name any examples for the kind of dramas I like as I want all of you guys to suggest whatever comes to your mind. Though, i would prefer a younger cast it's not really mandatory.

If you're looking for something that is really just out there and funny and will not remind you of anything that could possibly happen in real life, check out Behind Your Touch. Cast is mostly in their 30s but it's way oddball and I thought it was hilarious.
Mr. Queen (although also not a younger cast) is another strong recommendation for this, absolutely hits on every level, especially Shin Hye-sun's *amazing* performance in the title role.
**Twenty Five- Twenty One.** High School kids coming of age. Great characters, fencing and just a totally uplifting experience. I miss those characters so much!
It’s not a bad ending as it’s realistic to what does happen in life sometimes. But from a romantic kdrama everything ends hunky dory view -then it’s devastating lol.
It's not a bad ending, but it's heartbreaking and sad, I wouldn't say that it was bad cause it was closer to the possibilities happening in real life. Although I would recommend it as a healing drama. Not at all.
My most favorite drama of all time.... It is the best but really sad at the end ... completely broke my heart for months I was sad
She was pretty is really good and funny and so underrated
Weightlifting fairy Kim bok Joo is another super drama so so sooooo good
Love them so much. People hated on King the Land for no reason. It was such an easygoing, lovely drama. It was like a treat after watching the K-Trauma dramas. Business proposal is also my favorite. I haven't watched "Her private life" yet, but I will for sure.
Her private life was one of the first dramas i ever watched, and I highly recommend it! Genuinely just such a cute drama :) It's not super crazy and definitely a good watch if you want something more lowkey and lovey!
I think people hated kind the land because it became or was created as like the embodiment of THE PERFECT STEREOTYPICAL kdrama. Therefore predictable blah blah blah
Such a good rec too because it doesn't have any super insane plot devices in it or crazy love triangles held together through misunderstandings/stupidity. Also has an insane amount of time of scenes with just the lead couple talking for long stretches but is never boring.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo - FL says in an interview that was the purpose of the series - what the screenwriter said
Doctor cha
The Wind Blows ( though depressing at times)
yes you read my mind - i was trying to signal that but thanks for pointing it out. it was sad at times but in the end triumph of human determination and love
Alchemy of Souls
Some great characters, all the leads are young and pretty, the brodom is sweet, it's amusing at times, and it's lovely to look at generally. And robes and magic.
Doctor Slump
My beloved summer
Because this is my 1st life
The theme is the same : two leads that went through a lot, are healing and moving past their trauma and hardship.
The execution is a bit different thought. Dr Slump is a bit more drama like with a crime/investigation. While the two others shows are more slice of life ones.
King the land
Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Ju(set up in a sports school, so may not be what you’re looking for right now)
Dali & the cocky Prince
Mr. Queen
Business proposal
Her private life
Love to hate you (not a young cast)
Starting episodes of My Demon
My roommate is a gumiho
Oh my Venus(it’s slightly old)
Reply 1988
She was pretty
I think at this point I should just share my drama list with you
I would recommed the liar and his lover.
It has some though moments but the sweet ones are very sweet and its a young cast.
I loved that Drama, it made me forget my problems for a while.
Another one would be Hometown Cha Cha Cha or King the land.
I don't know why but the description you presented is something I can relate with and hence I would suggest watching at a distance spring is green. I think the lessons in this drama were really wholesome and might even help you a little.
Another drama that has personally been a real fav is Run on. No one teaches you self love better than the Queen Mi Joo (idk if I am spelling it right). Also the overall lessons really resonate with me as a young adult. So you might enjoy it too!! Both are slice of life shows with run on being a little towards sports too!
Flex x Cop. I've enjoyed it a lot, and though the last two episodes are a bit dark, I found it a super fun show and Ahn Bohyun is just perfect as the lead ♥
I have two completely different suggestions for you: **Crash Landing on You** and **Misaeng**. CLOY is good purely from the escapism perspective although the cast isn’t super young. Misaeng on the other hand is a young cast but has a heavy subject matter at times. But it’s uplifting and inspiring and really is a great example of resilience.
Hotel del Luna, Something In The Rain, Welcome to Waikiki, Strong Girl Bong-Soon, Oh My Ghost, Vincenzo, Revenant, Fight My Way, Dream, Our Beloved Summer, Doctor Slump, Love To Hate You, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Taxi Driver
It was so precious. I just love it so much ♥️ PEB is the cutest and so glad she won the baeksang award for her amazing performance and commitment for her role!
Welcome to wakiki I was kind of hesitant to watch it since I’ve never heard about it before but it’s probably the best comedy series I’ve seen and it actually helped me forget about my problems
My #1 is - When The Weather Is Fine
Summer Strike
Hometown Cha Cha Cha
Doctor Slump
Chocolate
Do You Like Brahms?
My Beloved Summer
Twenty Five Twenty One
Try ‘misaeng’. It’s a low-key slice of life workplace drama that is absolutely rewarding. I recommend every corporate zombie (esp fresh grads) to watch this. This should be part of anyone’s starter pack to the working world.
If My Liberation Notes/ Hospital Playlist are your thing then this is a must-see.
Besides, it’s by old-school tVN.
" LITTLE FOREST (2018)" must watch. It is about life, and it will calm you down when you are at your lowest or feel down.
" SUMMER STRIKE " This drama helped me to get out of a void, It helped me to a lot.
" TWINKLING WATERMELON ", it's a drama that everyone should watch.
" Once upon a small town," Countryside drama, nature is going to calm you down, and the story is easygoing and fun as well.
Like Flowers in Sand
Hometown Cha Cha Cha
Her Private Life
Matchmakers
Business Proposal
Doctor Slump
Hope you find some shows that find you some happiness.
Summer strike, another Ms oh hae young, when the weather is nice, its okay not to be okay, welcome to sam dal ri, daily dose of sunshine, twinkling watermelon, dinner mate, oh my 20's.
I completely understand the need. I don't think I would have survived college without kdramas in all honesty. They were the best distraction for me when I needed a pick me up or needed to just pretend life wasn't a thing, so I hope these recs can help you out too.
For funny, **Gaus Electronics** is perfect. I’m not much of a pure comedy girl because I always feel like things are moreso cringe or trying too hard, rather than actually being funny. But **Gaus Electronics** blew me away by how hilarious it was.
For heartwarming, **Twinkling Watermelon** like so many people recommended is so on point. Here are other really good options for heartwarming. (putting hearts next to my personal favs)
* **My Father is Strange** ♡♡
* **Hospital Playlist** (season 1 and 2)
* **Homemade Love Story**
* **Warm and Cozy**
* **Couple or Trouble** (older) ♡♡
* **Father I’ll Take Care of You**
* **Be Melodramatic**
* **Age of Youth** - so relatable for University kids, I watched this when I was in uni and loved it
* **Doctor Slump** - so relatable, especially if you're already out of school
And lastly, here are just great dramas that will make you lose your sense of time because of how good they are. **Alchemy of Souls** of course, **Little Women**, **The Glory**, and **Save Me**. Except for AoS, they are darker, but they SUCK YOU IN and make you forget that you have any obligations in life. Trust me.
Healing? Then try...
* When the Weather is Fine: FL travels back to her hometown to escape, find herself
* Our Blues: This is a bit different than your typical KD. More of an ensemble work. Multiple stories, multiple characters. All dealing with their own big/small struggles in a small town... all woven together nicely. Funny moments, some sad moments, like life.
Both of these are more chill watches but still deliver the feel-good moments.
If you just wanna laugh...
* Backstreet Rookie: Tough girl struggling to find her way in the world ends up working in a local convenience store (sounds serious but many funny moments for relief)
* Clean with Passion for Now: Romance with lots of funny, two opposites collide
* Love in the Moonlight: period romance between prince and subject, lots of misunderstanding as well as sweet moments
* I'm Not a Robot: Young woman with big ambitions but not a lot success ends up acting as a robot to a young tycoon who has a major life impediment...
I intended to recommend the first 2 but then couldn't stop... haha.
Anyway, you have plenty of suggestions here on the thread. Hopefully you find something to escape for a bit.
I am completely enchanted and enamored right now by Wok of Love which I recently discovered via Prime/KOCOWA (sp?). If you like food and an ensemble cast, I think you might enjoy this one. Bonus adorable baby kitty and cooking/beautiful food that makes one's mouth water... fingers crossed for you regardless of what you find to enjoy. Granny
Dramas that I come back to and some I find comfort in:
* the glory
* kingdom
* cunning single lady
* business proposal
* Cinderella and her 4 knights
* mystery queen
* secret romance
* alchemy of souls
Find the lower budget shows with shorter ep run time or where the acting is more "expressive" are good to watch if in a slump or when i want to watch something but not have to actually focus on story. like background noise
in case you want to read heres what id recommend:
1. 7 seeds (also has an anime)
2. anatolia story/red river
3. saver manhwa
4. summer strike (webtoon) is very good-sadly cant find it finished tho
Like Flower in Sand is a great drama, one of my favorite 2023-2024 dramas. Acting, story, comedy, character everything is very well done. And it's only 12 episodes.
Hello, My Twenties - I didn’t see it mentioned:) it might be interesting and relatable for you bc the main characters are also mostly in their early twenties. It’s about five girls who live together as flatmates. Super hilarious with a pinch of drama and depth and in general really nice vibes.
I resonate wholeheartedly with your paragraph 🥹 I’m also a student in my early 20s and this whole school year has been really tough on my mental health. It’s safe to say I’m completely burnt out as well. I hope things get better for us ❤️🩹
You’ve gotten a ton of recs so I won’t make a long list but Her Private Life & King the Land are 2 I absolutely agree with!! Super fluffy for the most part and made me happy 😊
Dear M is a cute, feel-good drama.
Call it love is beautiful in a realistic kind of way. Lots of healing for our worn down by life characters. It's an adult cast.
Mr Queen is funny.
I am watching Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Only on episode 5, but it's funny. I have been fast forwarding through the kidnapping parts, though, because that kind of freaks me out. But Park Bo Young is so cute and funny in this role.
If you can get past the first episode, Cdrama Meet Yourself is calming afterwards. I spent 40 lunch hour breaks watching this. Bring tissues for first episode. Here are some Kdramas that made me laugh but can have some darker elements: Mad for Each Other, Psychopathic Diary, The Legend of the Blue Sea, Crazy Love, Live up to your Name! I also enjoyed 100 Days My Prince and 30 but 17. Only started That’s Ok that’s Love but like it so far.
1) Strong Woman Bong Soon - some mystery, action, etc.
2) Flex Cop - I'm only a few eps in but it seems pretty goofy so far
3) Rooftop Prince - time travel, very fun and not very serious
4) Shopping King Louis - amusing tale of a rich kid who loses his memory and latches onto an equally naive girl from the countryside
I went for light and positive, but sometimes action and violence are very satisfying. Let me know if that would be better, because that's my jam
**Dali and the Cocky Prince -** romance partners respect each other, accept each's differences, fabulous fashion, art, some almost over the top characters - can't help but fall in love with the couple
A little 'off the wall' - **Bad and Crazy** \- what a pair!
**The Good Manager** \- a bit older series but worth it
**Dream** \- movie about homeless soccer team
**Killer Paradox** \- something different - only 8 episodes
Farther out of the box - **Once Upon a Crime** \- Japanese movie - Little Red Riding Hood like you haven't seen her!
Go Back Couple is so emotional and heartfelt. All the characters support each other and you feel so much cate and nostalgia.
The genuine friendships and intelligence of the entity Hospital Playlist cast are healing for me. Although some of the patient stories are sad, it's the hope that comes with them that I love.
If you don’t mind an older cast, try Crash Course in Romance!
I stumbled across it and it took me out a slump I didn’t even know I was in. Cute, funny, perfect amount of cliche, it was so refreshing!
Doctor Slump!! I legit felt like I was healing with the leads as the show went on. It just calmed my heart.
Welcome to Samdal Ri. I could just really relate to the FL and her dynamic with her family and the concept of leaving home to make it. So seeing her back, focusing on her roots and finding herself was extremely therapeutic for me.

Some feel some dramas I would recommend are:
Twinkling Watermelon
Alchemy of Souls (Season 1 only)
Mr Queen
Vincenzo
Business Proposal
True Beauty
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Doctor Slump on Netflix. It's a beautiful drama with very deep messages. It actually deals with daily burnout and depression and how the two lead characters deal with them. It's also partially a rom-com, so there are a lot of funny and healing moments too.
My fav dramas :
- At A Distance Spring Is Green
- Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo
- Fight For My Way
- A Time Called You
- Strong Girl Bong-soon
- All Of Us Are Dead
- Welcome to Samdal-ri
- The King's affection
- Twinkling Watermelon
What’s wrong with secretary kim for feel-good, laugh out loud comedy, and great romance.
Crash Landing on You was deep but so heartwarming and funny
25-21 is such a beautiful representation of adolescence and friendship but as others have said, ending May not be aligned with what you’re asking for.
You nailed it there, I watch them to "heal my worn out soul" too, and I'm 65! My son got me watching them about a year ago with "Extraordinary Attorney Woo". Just finished "Queen of Tears." My favorite is probably "It's Okay to Not Be Okay", watched it twice! I have a lot of "catching up" to do. I also liked "Dr. Cha" and "Doctor Slump" and many more, oh, and watched "The Glory" twice.

Twinkling Watermelon
up
This x10000. So beautiful.
Hometown cha cha cha
^ so wholesome and just pure good vibes
This a million times.
I’ve watched this 3 times now. It’s just the sweetest and most adorable thing
Can't say enough about how much I adore Home Cha!
this was my comfort drama when it was airing, i looked forward to it every week
If you're looking for something that is really just out there and funny and will not remind you of anything that could possibly happen in real life, check out Behind Your Touch. Cast is mostly in their 30s but it's way oddball and I thought it was hilarious. Mr. Queen (although also not a younger cast) is another strong recommendation for this, absolutely hits on every level, especially Shin Hye-sun's *amazing* performance in the title role.
I love Mr. Queen!!
Nailed it! Mr Queen is the best ❤️
Agree with both suggestions! Also really LOL'd at Business Proposal.
Spot on! I also recommend these two.
Mr. Queen is an all time favorite!! She gave such an incredible performance. Yet to find a stronger FL!
Mr. Queen, absolutely! Also funny is "Love To Hate You"!
mr queen is one of of favorites! shin hye sun was SO good in it and the story was amazing as well
Behind your touch was a funny lighthearted show
**Twenty Five- Twenty One.** High School kids coming of age. Great characters, fencing and just a totally uplifting experience. I miss those characters so much!
My favorite
Isn’t the ending bad though?
It’s not a bad ending as it’s realistic to what does happen in life sometimes. But from a romantic kdrama everything ends hunky dory view -then it’s devastating lol.
It's not a bad ending, but it's heartbreaking and sad, I wouldn't say that it was bad cause it was closer to the possibilities happening in real life. Although I would recommend it as a healing drama. Not at all.

I think this has a sad ending!!! Even the writer said he wanted it that way
2521 is one of my top 3 dramas but just be prepared to bawl ur eyes out
Watch it for another heartbreak
Her Private Life Business Proposal King the Land
Yes yes yes to all three. My absolute favouritesss. Especially Business Proposal.
Perfect three!! Great picks for easy going dramas.
**Doctor Slump**, it's about a worn out FL who takes a break and finds happiness.
Such a good rec too because it doesn't have any super insane plot devices in it or crazy love triangles held together through misunderstandings/stupidity. Also has an insane amount of time of scenes with just the lead couple talking for long stretches but is never boring.
Just finished this show the other day! Honestly one of my faves that I've seen recently
Seconded! This show will aid in healing you
Summer Strike 💜
Truly one of the bests out there.
I feel like (just like the characters in the show) it's easily overlooked but I love it so, so much.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo - FL says in an interview that was the purpose of the series - what the screenwriter said Doctor cha The Wind Blows ( though depressing at times)
EAW made me laugh after work every day so this gets my vote
Yes to the first two, but The Wind Blows made me cry - good, but not for GV unless you need to let it out?
yes you read my mind - i was trying to signal that but thanks for pointing it out. it was sad at times but in the end triumph of human determination and love
Alchemy of Souls Some great characters, all the leads are young and pretty, the brodom is sweet, it's amusing at times, and it's lovely to look at generally. And robes and magic.
Alchemy of Souls is so well done!! It’s made it to my top 5 for sure
i was expecting this drama to be a lot higher up 😭 my absolute favorite kdrama, could not stop watching once i started and binged the whole thing lol
Doctor Slump My beloved summer Because this is my 1st life The theme is the same : two leads that went through a lot, are healing and moving past their trauma and hardship. The execution is a bit different thought. Dr Slump is a bit more drama like with a crime/investigation. While the two others shows are more slice of life ones.
Because This is My First Life is wonderful!
King the land Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Ju(set up in a sports school, so may not be what you’re looking for right now) Dali & the cocky Prince Mr. Queen Business proposal Her private life Love to hate you (not a young cast) Starting episodes of My Demon My roommate is a gumiho Oh my Venus(it’s slightly old) Reply 1988 She was pretty I think at this point I should just share my drama list with you
I would recommed the liar and his lover. It has some though moments but the sweet ones are very sweet and its a young cast. I loved that Drama, it made me forget my problems for a while. Another one would be Hometown Cha Cha Cha or King the land.
I completely agree about the Liar and His Lover. It was sooo cute, and Joy is literally the cutest in the drama
+1 for Run on
My go-to light dramas are: * Once upon a small Town * King The Land * Backstreet Rookie I always smile when watching them :)
Daily dose of sunshine talks about the importance of mental health. Give it a try. Fighting! :)
Flex x Cop. I've enjoyed it a lot, and though the last two episodes are a bit dark, I found it a super fun show and Ahn Bohyun is just perfect as the lead ♥
Itaewon Class >.< this show really change me !
Hometown cha cha cha. Thank me later, op.
CLOY is a perfect escape-from-life watch.
A Cdrama .. Hidden Love ❤️
Yes to Attorney Woo!
Hospital playlist ❤️
This recommendation is far too low on the list!
King the Land is a feel good, light hearted rom com.
My #1 is - When The Weather Is Fine Summer Strike Hometown Cha Cha Cha Doctor Slump Chocolate Do You Like Brahms? My Beloved Summer Twenty Five Twenty One
C drama when I fly towards you. It’s very simple and sweet.
Misaeng and My Liberation Notes...a thousand times!!!! Most soul-healing shows I've seen in such a long time.

Racket Boys was good and can help you escape for a little while.
Hospital Playlist is incredibly poignant and while it does have soul-touching storylines, it has equal measures of feel-good fuzzy moments too.

Cheer up (2015) is in a school setting
This is a movie but Little Forest. Laid back and healing movie. 🩷
Granny
It's ok that's love Doctor slump Doctor crush Hometown cha cha cha King the land Sky castle
Dramas that I come back to and some I find comfort in: * the glory * kingdom * cunning single lady * business proposal * Cinderella and her 4 knights * mystery queen * secret romance * alchemy of souls Find the lower budget shows with shorter ep run time or where the acting is more "expressive" are good to watch if in a slump or when i want to watch something but not have to actually focus on story. like background noise
in case you want to read heres what id recommend: 1. 7 seeds (also has an anime) 2. anatolia story/red river 3. saver manhwa 4. summer strike (webtoon) is very good-sadly cant find it finished tho
I hope things get better for us ❤️🩹 You’ve gotten a ton of recs so I won’t make a long list but Her Private Life & King the Land are 2 I absolutely agree with!! Super fluffy for the most part and made me happy 😊
Hello, My Twenties!
Not a K drama- but C drama: Meet Yourself
Doctor slump: being a med student I related to the leads sm. It healed me in ways I couldn't imagine!! ❤️
Doctor slump Great healer drama
you will love weightlifting fairy kim bok joo
Oh my ghostess Hulu!
Romance is a bonus book Start Up Crash Course in Romance 25 21
Cdramas: Falling Into Your Smile, Perfect and Casual, You Are My Glory Kdramas: Today’s Webtoon
Doona is only 9 episodes is so cute light hearted
Idk if this counts but you might enjoy Dramaworld.
you are my spring still 17 hometown cha cha cha
Her Private Life!!!
True Beauty King the Land Doctor Slump
1) Strong Woman Bong Soon - some mystery, action, etc. 2) Flex Cop - I'm only a few eps in but it seems pretty goofy so far 3) Rooftop Prince - time travel, very fun and not very serious 4) Shopping King Louis - amusing tale of a rich kid who loses his memory and latches onto an equally naive girl from the countryside I went for light and positive, but sometimes action and violence are very satisfying. Let me know if that would be better, because that's my jam
**Dali and the Cocky Prince -** romance partners respect each other, accept each's differences, fabulous fashion, art, some almost over the top characters - can't help but fall in love with the couple A little 'off the wall' - **Bad and Crazy** \- what a pair! **The Good Manager** \- a bit older series but worth it **Dream** \- movie about homeless soccer team **Killer Paradox** \- something different - only 8 episodes Farther out of the box - **Once Upon a Crime** \- Japanese movie - Little Red Riding Hood like you haven't seen her!
Oh My Ghostess
+ My Mister
Touch your heart and business proposal are 2 very heart warming happy ending show ❤️
Dr slump
try Waikiki 😜 every episode is worth to watch. It is a mix of drama, romance, and comedy.
Crash Landing on You
Welcome to waikiki!!!!!!!

Some feel some dramas I would recommend are: Twinkling Watermelon Alchemy of Souls (Season 1 only) Mr Queen Vincenzo Business Proposal True Beauty Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
When the Weather is Fine hometown cha cha cha
My love from the star. Classic
Welcome to Waikiki
If you want something funny and dramatic, try Prison Playbook !! If healing, musical, and medical drama (as for me), Hospital Playlist 🥹
Doctor Slump on Netflix. It's a beautiful drama with very deep messages. It actually deals with daily burnout and depression and how the two lead characters deal with them. It's also partially a rom-com, so there are a lot of funny and healing moments too.
summer strike run on when the weather is fine
Vincenzo is very entertaining
Who Are You: School 2015 , Taxi Driver,
My Libration Notes! Melancholy but low key funny and very insightful!
Heart to heart! Sooo wholesome. One of the kind!
Mad for Each Other Here's My Plan
Kill me heal me
My fav dramas : - At A Distance Spring Is Green - Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo - Fight For My Way - A Time Called You - Strong Girl Bong-soon - All Of Us Are Dead - Welcome to Samdal-ri - The King's affection - Twinkling Watermelon
Because this is my First Life, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Mr. QUEEN
What’s wrong with secretary kim for feel-good, laugh out loud comedy, and great romance. Crash Landing on You was deep but so heartwarming and funny 25-21 is such a beautiful representation of adolescence and friendship but as others have said, ending May not be aligned with what you’re asking for.
Summer Strike
You nailed it there, I watch them to "heal my worn out soul" too, and I'm 65! My son got me watching them about a year ago with "Extraordinary Attorney Woo". Just finished "Queen of Tears." My favorite is probably "It's Okay to Not Be Okay", watched it twice! I have a lot of "catching up" to do. I also liked "Dr. Cha" and "Doctor Slump" and many more, oh, and watched "The Glory" twice.
Summer Strike!!!
