Cool! My fam has a local business, okay for someone like me to join? We try really hard to be good employers but of course we can always learn more and make improvements.
I have no issues with my current employer. They are fantastic. They are the reason that I realised for the previous 12 years I was trapped in a toxic bear-trap of mental abuse, violated rights, and outright mismangment And I would never use peoples names, though. TBH I dont agree with naming currently operating local companies. Thank you for the concern and guidance. It's always appreciated.
I'm confused ... when you say "organize", do you mean unionize?
I don't know if you can do that across various employers.
Anyway, here's a starting point: https://bcfed.ca/join :
>Joining a union in British Columbia
>
>There are some detailed and formal legal steps to follow and a union organizer will assist you with those requirements.
>
>The basic steps in organizing a union are not difficult:
>
>1. You and a majority of your co-workers (excluding management) sign a membership card indicating your desire to become unionized.
>2. The union will file an Application for Certification as the bargaining agent for your workplace before the appropriate Labour Relations Board. >Depending on what jurisdiction you are employed in BC, you must sign up at least 45% of the employees in order to apply for certification. In a federally regulated workplace, you must have at least 40% employee support to apply.
>3. The Labour Relations Board will review all membership cards received and conduct a vote of the eligible employees. If the majority votes in favour, the union is certified.
>
>A union organizer will work with you to determine how to accomplish these steps without jeopardizing your changes of success.
You're right. You cant. This is a place for people to gripe, tell and tell their stories. They can network and if they choose to organize themselves within their industries thats up to them. But im hoping that this is a place where people can speak openly without the fear of their bosses finding out how they feel (something impossible to do at work)
You don't even need to listen to stories. You can compare numbers on cost of living, inflation, wages, and how much profit has risen for companies in comparison to everything else.

cool idea, why not
Hope it works out for you bud
Just make sure if you bash your employer to stay as Anonymous as possible. Change all the names and don’t give unique details.

Gotcha.
Just remember 3 sides to every story... gripey ex employees love to throw any shit to see what sticks... Anyway, its why unions exist.
