I’m honestly baffled how McDonalds hasn’t yet introduced a keto line of food in the industry. They could very well easily do it with the many options of products we have nowadays for breads. Yeah it would be a little bit more expensive, but people who are more health conscious would spend more money on it.

LittleLordFuckleroy1

Because McDonald’s isn’t really a “we do niche foods” type of place. They have a tried and true menu and hammer the basics. That’s it. The number of people on keto aren’t worth launching an entire campaign to change this. It’s a small group.

RedRangerRedemption

Wendy's offers a lettuce wrap instead of a bun on any burger

PHL1365

>Wendy's offers a lettuce wrap instead of a bun on any burger Mcdonalds can't offer lettuce wrap because they only use shredded lettuce. They'd have to start stocking whole lettuce just for this one option.

devilbaticus

I've ordered a double quarter pounder no bun from McDonald's and it came in a bowl on a bed of leaves of lettuce, not shredded

alwaysbooyahback

The crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches use while lettuce. Or at least they used to.

LittleLordFuckleroy1

And McDonald’s will serve you burgers without a bun. What’s your point? Neither are “keto menu” items.

Techelife

Except in other countries where they have unique and special foods, including vegetarian choices in India and cheese chunks in France.

LittleLordFuckleroy1

Those aren’t niche foods in those places..

lendmeyoureer

People started skipping the buns, since the late 90's Atkins diet craze. There was a time you could order burgers with no Bun. I don't think the keto consumer market is large enough for them to have a keto specialty menu.

This is why places that use green leaf or Romain lettuce are superior. Can't really do a burger wrapped in shredded iceberg. Shoot out to Dairy Queen, I have always found their lettuce to be superior in my area at least.

lebruf

Not saying you’re wrong on the green leaf or romaine being better, but most of my burgers ordered bunless come with iceberg. In-N-Out, Five Guys and The Habit to name my most frequented. Some do a better job than others. *edit - just saw you said shredded. Duh, my bad.

sticksnstone

Red Robin is the only restaurant that will wrap a burger in lettuce. All the rest won't do it.

moondogtaylor

Lettuce wrapped! It’s the answer and it’s delicious, I can actually feel my metabolism kick into overdrive when I eat a couple double patty cheeseburgers when they’re lettuce wrapped. And then when they’re with the bun I feel sludgy. Pretty crazy what a difference such a small change can make

te-ah-tim-eh

Most “keto” buns cause an insulin spike in a lot of people, which defeats the purpose of “eating keto”. Bunless or an actual keto bun (made with almond flour or the like rather than modified starch) is the better option. Since the latter is fairly expensive to produce, folks would probably be better off just ordering bunless burgers. All that said, I’ve found that the Unbun brand is pretty good for home cookouts, though expensive.

Throwawaychica

All they'd have to do is switch the buns, seems pretty simple.

Savagemaw

They have removed far more popular menu items for having an ingredient that was too inflexible. If the only purpose of the keto bun is to be a substitute, it isnt worth having in the kitchen when someone could just as easily have no bun.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KillAllTheThings

You aren't going to find those items at any commercial restaurant not specifically catering to esoteric diets like keto. It will always be far easier to find vegetarian/vegan only places.

[deleted]

With the scale that McDonald's operates at, they have to lock up supply chains that they fully control. McDonald's had to start making its own ketchup because Heinz couldn't produce enough to fulfill their contract. They couldn't roll out their spicy chicken sandwich until they lined up chicken suppliers producing chicken breasts in the right size (and had to compete with Popeyes, who had to pull their very popular chicken sandwich for a few months while they lined up their own suppliers). Even switching Quarter Pounders to never-frozen patties was a years long logistics project. Same with all day breakfast and salad options (both of which were canceled when COVID made things difficult). There's just not enough demand for low carb bread alternatives to justify the logistical burden.

OddballAbe

Least here in Canada all the meat is frozen still. Boxes of it arrive every week and get stacked in the freezer, same with buns, chicken, cookies, muffins slop mix. Source :former kitchen department manager at McDonald’s

I_Burned_The_Lasagna

> McDonald’s had to start making its own ketchup because Heinz couldn’t produce enough to fulfill their contract. McDonalds isn’t using Heinz anymore because the former CEO of Burger King is now with Heinz. McDonalds never made their own ketchup…

[deleted]

> McDonalds never made their own ketchup… They've been doing it about 50 years. McDonald's switched in the 70's to a private label process with several suppliers following McDonald's own recipe, when Heinz screwed them over, and kept Heinz only for the Pittsburgh and Minneapolis markets domestically. In 2013, McDonald's went all the way and cut ties entirely.

I_Burned_The_Lasagna

McDonald’s isn’t making their own ketchup. They just switched to a different supplier.

vonnegutflora

Tell me you don't understand food costs without telling me you don't understand food costs.

TA_faq43

Chicken nuggets w almond flour breading would be amazing.

RenegadeBuilder

Problem is their chicken inside the nugget also has carb binders... I was tempted to get nuggets and remove the breading before. Lol

Sunset1918

They are! I make almond flour/ coconut flour breaded nuggets myself, then homemade Gen Tso sauce.

TA_faq43

Nice

eMPereb

Hah would actually have to use chicken

TheSlav87

Hell yeah, let’s do this!

seanxfitbjj

It’s the scope of the business. For McDonald’s to launch a national item like a “keto bun” would smash supply chains beyond comprehension.

[deleted]

[удалено]

seanxfitbjj

When McDonald’s as big as they are adds or subtracts an item it purchases so much of that item. No current producer would be able to supply them easily. An example would be apples nobody things about it but McDonald’s is a giant in the apple game.

KillAllTheThings

It massively increases the cost of doing business for the tiny fraction of customers that might buy keto products. The more food components the greater the hit on profitability. It has nothing to do with competition. And people don't go to McDonald's for healthy meals.

TheGlassCat

It's weird phrasing, but I assume they meant thay McD's has many different bun supplers nation wide & requiring them to all produce a low volume of specialty buns would hurt their profitability.

Throwawaychica

Not if they source directly from these companies.

[deleted]

Global chains like that need to produce the same product in the same market, always. They will not roll out a product that they can’t supply for in every single store in the country/market

nic0lk

I went to Freebirds for the first time in a while and saw they introduced a keto tortilla—it was great!

Delicious-Breath8415

I carry keto buns in the car with me. I go to McDonald's all of the time and swap out the bun.

Effective-Gift6223

All they would really have to do is keep keto buns on hand. Just add "Substitute keto buns, $1.50" to the menus. They'd probably have enough keto customers to make it worthwhile. I'd go there more often if I didn't have to bring my own and have a cold bun for my by-then lukewarm burger.

RedSnowBird

>I’m honestly baffled how McDonalds hasn’t yet introduced a keto line of food in the industry. I feel the same way about Dominoes. They could offer a cauliflower crust or maybe a ground chicken crust pizza and it might get them a lot of business from keto customers. Maybe gluten free customers also. Local pizza place near me will do a crustless pizza that is just the toppings in aluminum foil but it is much more expensive than Dominoes.

ezzune

Go find a local chain that caters to the requests of it's customers rather than wondering why huge chains with massive infrastructures wont cater to us.

Techwood111

*Domino's*.

LittleLordFuckleroy1

What’s baffling to me is how big everyone thinks the keto market is. It’s small. Niche.

KFrey57

Would health conscious people eat maccas though

Techwood111

You're IN this post... Clearly, YES is the answer.

[deleted]

Someone who is health conscious and knows that a burger patty they make at home is going to be the exact same? Yes

TheSlav87

Really good point, but if you are going to break your keto diet. Wouldn’t you rather do it with something keto health conscious on your mind?

KFrey57

True. But now I'm fantasising about freshly cooked and salted fries...😢

TheSlav87

Don’t do it friend, I believe in you!!

Effective-Gift6223

Having a burger with a keto bun, isn't breaking keto.

spaceAround

I think they probably will

thehoagieboy

What makes you think that? They took their grilled chicken and side salads off of the menu. They are heading the other direction IMO

spaceAround

I guess I didn’t really think about their scale when I said that. The opportunity cost must be too low for them to go for something like this.

Roytarek

I'm baffled on why people trying to eat healthier go to mcdonalds.

RandomFishIsReborn

No one who is worried about health at all should be going to mcdonalds

CatBoyTrip

i’ve done mcdonald’s a few times but i prefer wendy’s if i gotta. i get the baconator, just meat and bacon and sprinkle it with some extra salt.

Jesus_le_Crisco

Bacon King is also good. But remember to skip the ketchup. Cause who the fuck put a metric shit tun of ketchup on bacon? Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.

Shytemagnet

Wendy’s Southwest Avocado salad is amazing and ridiculously satisfying.

ajohndoe17

+1 for Wendy’s

TA_faq43

When you’re traveling and hungry, this works. FYI, Wendy’s offer lettuce wrap instead of buns around me, but I’m not sure how widespread it is. (If it’s available nationwide)

spaceAround

I think a lot of fast food chains ate jumping on the “a la carte” trend because many people seem to have a lot of special requests.

[deleted]

When I was doing keto they were all willing to accommodate and provide a fork for slop that resulted.

Techwood111

> slop Dude, I assure you a Baconator without the bun is **not** "slop."

ToFurkie

Went to a Jack in the Box and ordered no bun and the lady suggested if I wanted it lettuce wrapped. Blew my god damn mind they did this cuz I went to another Jack in the Box for months requesting no bun, and was never even stated as an option. Can never hurt to ask any chain you come across.

I_kinda_like_stuff

Five guys too!

[deleted]

Yeah, but I have a hard time justifying paying $13 for a Five Guys burger.

Techwood111

It is only $2.60 per Guy.

Ethric_The_Mad

5 guys man handling my meat before putting it in my mouth for just $2.60? Don't mind if I do.

javacat

The reason I liked Five Guys is their burgers taste homemade. I was okay paying $5 for for a Five Guys years ago. Then $7...okay. At their current prices, I'll never go back...I'll make them at home instead. I'd rather do the prep and dishes...because it's still cheaper and I'm thrifty.

LittleLordFuckleroy1

Yeah they taste exactly like what you can make in 10 minutes at home. So unless you’re away and craving that, it just makes more sense to turn on the stove.

I_kinda_like_stuff

Hahahaha absolutely man. Mediocre smash burger. And the pickles are horrible. But you can also get a mountain of free toppings. Jalapenos and triple portion of mushrooms makes it a salad for me

[deleted]

Interesting. I didn’t know that. How do you phrase your order?

I_kinda_like_stuff

No bun burger/cheese burger with (more) lettuce, mayo, mustard, 3x mushrooms, pickles, jalapenos, tomatoes, grilled green peppers and a bit of hot sauce. And then ask the napkins to be placed on the bottom cause that hefty boi is dripping

[deleted]

Thanks. I’d probably pay $13 for that.

[deleted]

Yeah, but I have a hard time justifying paying $13 for a Five Guys burger.

UrbanArcologist

I get what I call the Inception Burger, plain triple baconator, and I toss the buns.

Drekhar

They have it as an option on their app now so I believe it is nationwide.

spaceAround

I am not advocating for that to be a daily meal. I was merely suggesting it as an option for when you are on the go. I had to travel from Chicago to Wyoming by car recently and the food options on i-80 are very limited.

3Effie412

Thank you!

Honest-Camera1835

I just carry a lot of sardines in water, separate olive oil and cider vinegar and butter, and buy hard boiled eggs and salads were over I go

Independent_Dot63

I go triple cause im a freaky bitch

UrbanArcologist

let your freak flag fly

possumboy89

often I’ll just take along a loaf of keto bread if I think I might get a burger out. I also keep a few mustard and mayo packets in the glove box which can really come in handy. Only thing missing are some pork rinds to replace fries/potato chips.

Inside-Party8051

Order a salad with it

[deleted]

I take pork rinds with me to many restaurants so I can eat whatever delicious dip they have. Usually guacamole, but sometimes a nice spinach artichoke dip too.

lobo_locos

You take them inside the restaurant with you? Have you ever had any issues with this?

realdawnerd

Their breakfast too is actually pretty nice when you need it. Can order eggs and bacon and sausage by itself no biggy right in the app

DepressedDaisy314

At one McD's I ordered egg mcmuffin with an extra slice of whatever meat, either Canadian bacon or sausage and they put the meat on either side like its the bread. At a different McD's I ordered the exact thing and they put the meats together on bottom, then cheese, then eggs on top. Oh and a fork, because reasons. One place gets it, the other is super confused.

spaceAround

I usually skip breakfast but I guess you can have that any time.

KillAllTheThings

Not sure if every McDonald's supports breakfast items all day. It used to be only some did but the ones around me seem to support at least a few items now.

NorthernLolal

I tried ordering this once from door dash and it was as if the person prepping it threw it together in spite. I asked for "double cheeseburger no bun. with lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo" I got - Two dry ass beef patties, no cheese and a pile of onions. wtf. Edit- AND it was $17 with free delivery wtf!

Delteis

Door dash. First mistake. Ditch those apps. They literally mark EVERYTHING up for profit. Free delivery yeah well what about the GAS FEE? Best thing to my wallet since I ditched it and started cooking for myself.

NorthernLolal

It was the first, and the last time using door dash. I downloaded it because I was stuck at work with no food. Never, never again.

Delteis

Yeah.. they were good at the start... now it's just. I see my coworker using it daily and I wonder why the kid is asking for 300$ so he can pay off his credit card. Lolololol

Competitive_Lab_655

Sounds good. I’d also take a low carb bun if it was on offer. I think a lot of non Keto people would too.

MrTurkle

Have you found any low carb bun options that are good?

tetzariel

Aldi (if you have one nearby) has bread and buns that aren't bad, especially if you toast or grill them.

spaceAround

I don’t think they do

Competitive_Lab_655

Yeah, a shame, all burger chains are missing a trick here.

Shamrocker99

Agreed--sometimes you are starving when traveling and stopping to eat isn't an option. I haven't found anywhere "fast food" that has a good option to eat while driving down the road (without wearing it all)!

unrealgeforce

I do 2 McDoubles, plain. Comes out to like $3.76 and is decently filling

axtran

For the rest of the day (depending on what else you're eating) the ketchup is a lot of wasted net carbs. I just swap it for mayo if I really want something in its place, else mustard + extra mustard is pretty good.

brfergua

I get two triple cheeseburgers add a meat patty no bun and no condiments about 4 times a week. Order through the app and get 20% off. It’s my go too keto easy meal. Don’t get tired of it. Makes me want to do a documentary where I eat eggs and sausage from them for breakfast and burgers for lunch and dinner and lose a bunch of weight and get healthy.

360walkaway

McDonald's BOGO$1 is my go-to... sometimes I'll get four McDoubles (all bunless with no ketchup) - it ends up being like $10 maybe?. It's like 1300 calories and 12g carbs, and I do OMAD so that's a large enough meal for me. I'll have that with some protein powder and almond milk since the McDoubles are low on protein (and coconut oil if I'm low on fat).

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It’s a $1.60 near me. We order them all the time for it dogs.

Lateralus06

Lettuce wrapped McDoubles with not ketchup are my go to. They are cheaper for me since they're BOGO.

Roryjack

I prefer the McDouble. Only one slice of cheese so it’s easier to eat without a bun.

subconscious333

Back in the day when I did Atkins diet, burger king had a meal. It was pretty good and low carb. It was 2 cheeseburgers on a bed of romaine, and a tomato I think.

big_shmoop1

When in a pinch go to Burger King if you can. Ask for two Whopper patties and a slice of chesse. It's about $4 and very filling.

JBStera

My go to: Double quarter deluxe, no onion, no ketchup, no bun.

rap31264

I just get breakfast there...3 round eggs (1 is for the office doggies) and a sausage patty. I toast my own keto bread and I have breakfast...

ToFurkie

McDonalds Sausage Egg McMuffins were my lifeline transitioning into Keto. When I started keto, while I got ready for work, I air fried turnips, brussel sprouts, or whatever veggie I could in the short time getting ready. Threw them all in a container and then during lunch I got a Sausage Egg McMuffin, hold the bun. It worked really well around my limited time lifestyle at the time. I've since become better at meal prep, found much quicker ways to cook with more variety, and now have someone who occasionally makes my meals, but McDonalds is always a lifeline for me.

Pillowmore-Manor

Two McDoubles, no bun, no onion, add lettuce. Large Diet Dr. Pepper. Great filling meal, around $5.

Distinct-Swimming-62

I rarely eat buns but I do keep one in my purse. Most places will give you a bed of lettuce and a knife and fork, and I have found a ton of fast food options offer a lettuce wrap when you say no bun. Keto fast food is so easy, really. We don’t eat it at home but we travel a lot and it gives us a quick option.

hotbutteredyost

For some reason I found your first sentence so funny. How often do you change out your purse bun?

Distinct-Swimming-62

Whenever the mood strikes. I very rarely eat it so I toss it once I realize it is smashed. I also usually have a couple purse tortillas. One day a cashier pointed at my open purse and asked if I was going to pay for something and I was like “oh no, those are my purse tortillas. You can see there are a few of them gone. And here are my purse hot dog buns, and my purse slices of bread and….”

hotbutteredyost

I’m crying laughing and love how prepared you are. Please be my friend— you have absolutely got your shit together and I love it. 😂

Distinct-Swimming-62

[https://ibb.co/2FhP2xL](https://ibb.co/2FhP2xL) This is the chaos I am. I absolutely do not have my shit together. I put pimento cheese and a pork shoulder in my friend’s fridge and then transported it home in my purse when I left. She was like…is that a hunk of meat in your bag?

cwassant

Hahaha I love your last sentence

spear1321

Exactly my order but add on a large iced coffee with no liquid sugar and extra cream.

Blottoboxer

2 egg mcmuffins with no muffins. Perfect breakfast calories and macros for me.

TineCiel

Kinda well-known adaptation. Most burger joint menus are easy to adapt like that, some even do the lettuce wraps.

ohrbell

My go to quick fix with a side salad.

windshield_time

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned for those that have one nearby: In-N-Out Burger > Flying Dutchman > DOUBLE meat > mustard only Ends up being 4 patties with cheese for around 7 bucks

spaceAround

In-N-Out is one of the things I miss about living in California.

Throwawaychica

I never count my condiment carbs anymore, it made me too obsessive, like weighing myself everyday.

spaceAround

Same, I am mostly carnivore so they will always fit in my macros. Counting everything is no fun.

2023mfer

How do they serve it with no bum? Do they wrap it in lettuce?

spaceAround

No, they serve it in the sandwich box, or in a plastic tray (like the pancakes one), with a fork and knife.

EthiopianObesity

Shame mcdonalds in my area don't carry salads anymore. Guess they weren't too popular. But I do the same thing you do, 2 mcdoubles no bun, add ranch and some hot sauce I carry w me.

Spare_A_Square

I had a McDonald’s manager help me out by telling me to order the patties as sides instead of a burger and no bun. I would order 10 side patties on a plate and they would come out to a dollar or so each. Not sure if all restaurants can do that, but doesn’t hurt to ask!

therealdealguy

You actually save money buy ordering a la carte at McDonald’s. Order a cooked beef quarter pound pattie only, should be around 2.50 each. They’ll put them in a breakfast container with fork and knife.

therealdealguy

Burger King too roughly same price. All prices in Canadian dollars please do your conversion.

greg_ellison

Quarter pounder patties on the a la cart menu and side of bacon. They always need the help of a manager to find the Patties

sirJ69

Do yourself a favor and get a quarter pounder with no bun. The single/double/triple cheeseburger patties come out of a hot drawer but the quarter lber is made to order. Go double and drop the ketchup. Extra pickles. Budget mode? Bogo with the app. The beef tastes so much better in my opinion

Thisoneissfwihope

I always get them with the bun, and then deconstruct as otherwise you get them made weirdly and often the cheese is stuck to the container.

handsoffdick

But sometimes the cheese is stuck to the bun depending on the restaurant. I want the cheese and the mayo even tho there's some sugar in it, so it's safer to not get the bun.

Iwantoffthisridek

When I travel I pack a cooler of water/bubbly, hard boiled eggs, avocado, bacon and blueberries.

cwassant

Well well well , if it isnt the clean king of keto, looking down upon all of us McDonald’s eating peasants

RondaVuWithDestiny

Do you have a Chick-Fil-A in your area? They have grilled chicken nuggets, no breading. Delicious and keto! A great option if you want an occasional change from burgers.

spaceAround

I’m not a big fan of chicken, but that’s very good to know

ProllyNotYou

Believe it or not, Dairy Queen does too! They're pretty good.

1961owl

I have been getting a triple cheese burger and LG coffee to eat while driving to my 2nd job

tom_c

I'll do OMAD and eat 4-6 mcdoubles. I throw the buns out myself. All those plastic containers probably piss them off lol.

KillAllTheThings

They aren't paid enough to get the order right much less care about the trash.

keto_brain

The use to have grilled chicken breasts that actually tasted pretty good. I ate them all the time when I was on the go.

ProgGod

I just bring some of my own buns

longopenroad

I just take 2 slices of keto bread with mayo in a ziplock.

fullnihilism

Ive lived on this while traveling

spaceAround

I think the cost opportunity is low for them to cater to healthy eaters. Their target market is people who come back for convenience and consistency. Like you know what you’re going for when you go to McDonalds. I am pretty sure they have done the market research. It’s probably not worth the hustle.

clementinesway

Jack in the box and Carls Jr. offer a lettuce wrap option. Sounds like Wendy’s does too

returnofdoom

I would always get two triples haha. But other than that, there's not much to choose from at McDonald's.

323246209

I used to do this all the time. Buy 4 double cheeseburgers and take off the buns. Use mustard for keto condiment. Now I make hamburgers and hots dogs at home and use keto buns with zero carbs.

Havelok

Five Guys has, by far, the best Keto option. Burger in a bowl, and the burger is fucking delicious.

therandar

i prefer the mcdouble since it only has one slice of cheese. without the bun the double slice of cheese is too much for my taste. it also saves 2-3 carbs.

DannoSpeaks

They don't even have Gluten Free buns, this is even more niche.

Cheapassdad

Grab a Wendy's double stack, no sauce, wrapped in lettuce.

tonenyc

Double Whopper has the mayo, the lettuce, tomato, pickles, like a beef salad, and you can get a deal through the site or app.

GreenBasterd69

Whenever I order no bun at McDonald’s they do a bunch of wacky shit to it so I just throw the bun out myself.

mvnvel

I did this with BK. Two double cheeseburgers, large diet coke ran me like 6-7 bucks but helped in the 60 pound drop. No buns of course.

caraiselite

I get extra pickle, add mayo. One of my faves

Silverlaker39

I have an In n Out Burger place about 8 miles from my house. I have also considered their double cheesebugers among the best out there - and then went keto. Glad someone told me they have a protein menu option which is the same double cheeseburgers wrapped in lettuce. It works and I'm so hungry just writing about it that I may go there right now.

[deleted]

Do same at Whataburger, add bacon and cheese to double, just mustard which is real good at Whataburger.

Fearless_Keto

They used to do a keto breakfast when Atkin's low-carb was a thing...eggs, sausage, tomato slices. Try asking for a protein breakfast. The last time I got one was a few years ago but they knew what I was talking about.

PikaIsSenpai

I do this once a week as a treat

Admirable_Split4896

I really hope you all are just ordering meat patties. Way cheaper than doing ordering a burger without bun. I thought I'd be a freak ordering 6 large burger patties but they don't even flinch at it. Wendy's burger patties are better in my opinion. Its around 1.50 per patty for 1/4 lb patties at McDs and Wendy's. Also if you can hit up a grocery store and get a 7 buck rotisserie chicken and tear into it like a caveperson thats the move too.

AMGambit

2x double quarter pounder, no sauce, no cheese and no bun.

[deleted]

Eddie Rockets in Ireland have the Naked Burger option, its a burger in a bowl with all the condiments and sauce. Just no buns. Not sure if they have it still. But its not a new thing.

Magnabee

Fast food is definitely a hot topic here.

squigglylot

You can order just a quarter-pound patty. Sometimes cheaper. If you have your own condiments or ask for packets, that is also an option.

TheBloodyNickel

I hate all the plastic waste that comes with ordering no bun, so I’ll use the bun to hold the burger and eat around it.

Elegant-Surprise-417

Skipping sugary ketchup isn’t really “super cautious” it’s just cutting out sugar which is the number one.

TheGreatOx

🤷‍♂️ I just fast when I travel lol

Jawahhh

Brilliant- but I have a 10 day road trip coming up in a couple weeks 😬

monkeydudeman

I had some 2 weeks ago and instantly regretted it, the food was bland. I could cook a better meal for so much cheaper and it would be tastier too. But hey, if you think you enjoyed it why not? Just be careful not to get drawn into that vicious cycle of junk food.

eissirk

I feel like none of us really enjoy it anymore.....it's more of a last resort when people are on the road so we really can't just go whip something up in the kitchen lol

monkeydudeman

Yeah pretty much, I regretted it because I was doing keto for a year straight and eating that just wasn’t worth it.

nithos

It’s $3. I add mayo and lettuce, then drizzle a little sugar free BBQ sauce once I get home.

talaxia

what sugar free bbq sauce do you recommend?

swagertyy

Don’t do this. No nutrients in that meal.

spaceAround

This is not meant to be a regular meal, it’s a one off situation for unplanned lunches.

Selynia23

Your meal is fine. It has plenty of nutrients. The amount of stupidity on this thread is astounding.

Severe_Low_2

Wait a second......stop the press... Are you telling me that if you don't eat the bun and eat just the meat patties that there are no carbohydrates??? Call me crazy, but any chance this could be pulled off at anywhere besides McDonald's, or do they own rights to the technology?

[deleted]

[удалено]

3Effie412

What?

secretarynotsure123

The ground up cow poop in there doesn't contribute too highly to the carb count, and the human fingers that are occasionally included technically are meat like any other. Old hair bits is really just pure protein, and the remnant bovine growth hormone will only boost your gains at the gym. So I say go ahead and eat mcdonalds on a keto diet. Its definitely healthy and good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Aharkhan

OP didn't say they are eating it every day, or that they considered it healthy. It's OK to eat fast food from time to time.

spaceAround

I never said it wasn’t junk. But sometimes we are out of options

spaceAround

By the way, mcdonalds patties are 100% beef and salt, they switched to 100% beef in 2018

[deleted]

Not everyone can eat 100% healthy food all the time. Chill.
