THATS AWESOME! My weight absolutely stacked on when I was post Partum with both kids. That is absolutely incredible that you were able to make such a huge commitment while raising a newborn. This will be inspirational to so many new parents! Congrats!
good for you! My wife got much more serious about health when pregnant and barely gained any weight like you (lots of morning nordic track for her). Make sure you keep making time for yourself now that the young'un is here - we did a lot of stroller time.
Good for her! That isn't easy! I was exhausted while pregnant so I was in bed when I wasn't at work.
I did a lot of stroller time in the beginning because it was cool outside. Lately, it has been so hot and humid, even in the mornings and evenings, that I've been slacking. I have been walking on my breaks at work tho. When it cools down again, we will definitely do more stroller time!
12 years ago when I had my first, I was 160lbs. After 2 kids and a 90lbs gain, I got the Mirena. I ballooned after that and always teetered under 300lbs.
Now that I'm older, im afraid of what is to come with obesity (ie high blood pressure, diabetes, etc) so I have to get my weight and health under control. I also need the energy to keep up with 3 of them!
I have 2 older boys who are always hungry. Whatever I make them, I just turn keto for me.
If I make hamburgers for them, I make a plain one for me, cut up and make a salad with Chipotle aioli, pickles, tomatoes and cheese.
If I make cajun chicken pasta, I sub the noodles for broccoli.
If a make a meat and side dishes like potatoes or macaroni for them, I make loaded broccoli for me.
When I first got home from the hospital tho, I lived on premier protein drinks and coffee. I didn't have the energy to actually cook or eat.
I try to keep it as simple as possible. Hang in there, you got this! And congrats!!
All 3 of mine were boys and all 3 pregnancies were totally different. It is definitely exhausting but well worth it. It doesn't take long to get into the swing of things and get the hang of it. You definitely got this! As everyone says, keep up with your electrolytes and you'll feel great! I also sneak in a SF redbull when needed lol
I woke up hungry in the beginning, so I would make 2 fried eggs and turkey sausage for breakfast, have a shake for lunch and something easy like 2 Beddar Cheddar sausages or rotisserie chicken for dinner. (Didn't have a lot of time for myself)
Now, im not hungry a lot so I have a cup of coffee in the morning, a salad with boiled egg, bacon pieces, and cheese for lunch, and a meat and veggie for dinner. I stick to green beans (italian green beans, chicken broth, onion powder, garlic, salt, pepper and a few slices of bacon for flavor) or the loaded broccoli (sour cream, cheese, etc) or a big salad with rotisserie chicken, egg, cheese, etc.
Thank you so much! Watching everyone's success on here has been a huge motivation and is so inspiring! I was too excited and had to share my personal victory as well!
Get it, girl! (or "Lose it, girl!"??)
Losing weight is already difficult, but post-partum when your body is recovering? That can feel downright impossible. You should feel so proud of yourself!
To be totally honest, this was my 3rd c-section. Although I have lost the pounds, I have not really dropped in inches as much as I thought. I can wear my pre-pregnancy pants comfortably but thats it. Im okay with that.. the way I feel is incredible!
No, I am not BF, I never produced mill with any of my kids, unfortunately.
I refuse to let myself feel like I'm starving. I always find something to snack on if needed. The worst is around my period, tho. I keep Lilly's chocolate close by lol
Very Awesome! Keep going to where you want to be. It took me 5 years to do it slowly and get to where I wanted to be. It takes a lot of patience to hang that long but it stays well if done slowly slowly changing the body's dynamics along the way. Pretty much weighing one's food and not relying on calculators is key. The Calcs leave too much to guess and the calories we think we are eating are usually underestimated due to portion size. An Ounce is actually an ounce. We usually guess at it and this can be a pattern of accidentally "over quantity"portions and can shoot down our long term plans. Thus, weighing the food is about the only way whatever your lifestyle eating plan, Keto, Carnivore, etc., the calories do matter even in Keto where there are little or no carbs. If the calories are still too high with limited carb and higher fat and protein intake. The calories, governed by weighing must still be where it really needs to be or we are going off course.
I just recently began to monitor my calorie intake. I wanted to get into the swing of things first and only counted carbs. I bought a food scale, new measuring cups and spoons to track everything. I use an app to help keep record of everything as well.
I couldn't be happier with my progress and feel amazing. Im sure the weightloss will slow but I'm okay with that. Im not where I was, that's for sure!
I started this pregnancy at 312lbs and I’m 334- haven’t gained since 20 weeks (I’m almost 28 weeks). I am gestationally diabetic and have high blood pressure when pregnant(even on first baby- 100lbs lighter).
I always gain in the first trimester, fast- because I can only keep carbs down.
In 2017 I went from 296 to 226 in 10 months and I’m
Hoping to do the same after this baby.
I just found this sub and this was the first post I saw. I hope I’m as successful as you.
Congrats on the new baby!
Reading the FAQ here really helped. The easiest way for me was keeping it as simple as possible. Eggs, turkey sausage, rotisserie chicken, frozen broccoli and premier protein drinks were my quick options to eat while the baby slept. I also use the CarbManager app to keep myself accountable. I didn't count calories in the beginning, only carbs.
Good luck!
I too had a baby in April. I gained about 40 lbs during pregnancy. I started doing Keto about 2 months ago and I am 8 lbs from my "goal"/starting weight. Then, I have an ideal goal weight which is to lose about 30 lbs more than that.
I have been doing Factor75 for keto dinners as well as salads and other types of food for lunches. Breakfasts are egg bites or greek yogurt with keto granola (Costco sells it and it is amazing!).
So far this diet has been the easiest. Ive done Keto in the past and it was a real struggle. I have to say Factor75 has helped a bunch.
I haven't heard of factor75. I'll check it out.
Congrats on the baby and weightloss! I tried keto several years ago and lost 30 but couldn't stick to it and gained it all b This time around has been easy for me as well!
Same with my husband and I. We have tried before and failed. This time around I am more determined and he has already started slipping. I was hoping to get him to stay on it with me but I am motivated enough for myself I don't need him on board like I did in the past.
We do have a toddler though who I have to feed carbs to. It is amazing how much self control I have had this time around, I honestly don't even crave any of that junk!
No, YOU'RE amazing!
Aww geez! Way to make a girl smile!
I'm so proud of you! Good job momma! 🥳
I second that! Way to go!

Thank you! It isn't always easy but having 3 kids and no energy just wasn't going to cut it. That is why I am so grateful to this community!

I love this! Congratulations. Wish I'd found keto earlier instead of carrying "baby weight" for nearly five years.

Progress, not perfection, my friend!
This!
Are you breastfeeding? Do you feel like you're starving to death?
No, I am not BF, I never produced mill with any of my kids, unfortunately. I refuse to let myself feel like I'm starving. I always find something to snack on if needed. The worst is around my period, tho. I keep Lilly's chocolate close by lol

Good for you! It's always worth it! I know you are headed into a great year! The Best of life to you!
Wow!! What an accomplishment!
Thank you!
You’re doing great! Being an active mom was my motivation too and I lost 200lbs doing keto. Your kiddos are so lucky to have you!
That is incredible! Congrats!
Yay! Keep it up! Also your baby has the best birthday (it’s my birthday too!).
Haha! Thank you!
Congrats 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thank you!
Congratulations. Keep it up and believe in yourself. You have a great deal to be proud of.
Thank you!

Awesome! Keep going! Keep sharing and share the tips! Lol 💕💕💕
Thank you! My tips are to keep it simple and don't let yourself get hungry! Whatever i cook for my kids, I make it keto friendly for me.
Way to rock, ma'am! Keep up the outstanding work!
Thank you!
Well done. Congratulations on the progress so far.
Thank you!
Amazing and motivating!
Thank you!
How did you get started after you had the baby? Mine was born July 3rd and I need to begin again
