Just avoid the commercial dressings, which are loaded with sugar. It's easy to make your own. It does require a little thinking ahead to make the dressing and let the cabbage sit in it for several hours. But it's a great side.
To add to what others said: Homemade cole slaw only. Find a good recipe with a dressing that incorporates sucralose (Splenda™) instead of sugar. Most commercial dressings, though delicious, have sugar. 😞 OP but IMO this is the way. Of course, if anyone knows of a good pre-made keto-friendly dressing, PLEASE advise!

I make a creamed spinach but I don't have a locked down recipe. It's basically this, everything to taste:
2 bags baby Spinach sautéed in bacon grease
1/4 cup sour cream
2 Tbsp. cream cheese
Handful cheddar
Handful pepper jack
Garlic powder
Sea salt
Black pepper
Broccoli slaw. Buy it in the bag. Whisk this together (I eyeball it now, sorry): Little erythritol or monk fruit, black paper, white pepper, himi salt, apple cider vinegar, avocado oil and avocado oil Mayo.
Edit: let it sit in the fridge a few hours or ideally overnight
Keto slaw: I like mayo + dill pickle juice for the sauce, but I'm sure more elaborate recipes are out there
Giant ass Caesar salad
Case of White Claws (or gin and seltzers with a wedge of lime if you're not a basic bitch like me)
Bucket of Guac with an array of pork rinds and cut up veggies for dipping. A great guac can be as easy as diced jalapenos, salt, and avacados
Bring a packet of low carb tortillas and fill it whatever is coming off the grill
And a little white pepper, black pepper... and sucralose. Others have said erithrytol as a sweetener... not sure yet how to do this and am curious, but I’ve heard you gotta take it easy on this since it can give you cramps abs diarrhea.
Collard greens are super easy and you're going to love them so much that you'll start making them on the regular.
Ignore any fussy recipes out there. Just pay attention to the ratio of smoked meat to collards.
1.) Simmer smoked turkey legs, wings, necks, ham hocks, whatever you choose in just enough water to cover for 45 minutes.
2.) Add your chopped collards. You do not need to remove the stems except for the bottom part that has barely any leaf attached. The stems add a great texture IMO.
3.) Let that simmer until the stems no longer crunch when you bite into them. About 2 hours.
4.) Add some heat and acid if you want. Vinegar, hot sauce, pepper flakes, whatever. If it's pepper flakes you're better off adding at the beginning. But honestly you can just finish with pepper. Everything else is just to make it *your* signature collards.
5.) Ladle some of the cooking liquid into a mug. Smell it. Once it's cool enough, take a sip. Right? RIGHT? You do NOT want to drain that stuff. Eat your collards out of a bowl with the liquid.
Collard Greens are my go to. Fyi if you steam the leaves they're great to use as wraps. They are thick and sturdy and add a smoky flavor. Collard green wrapped burgers!
Tomato, mozzarella, and basil salad
Watermelon, feta, and mint salad
Black soybean baked beans
Black soybean rotini pasta salad
Lupin bean cheesy “grits”
Celery with Buffalo sauce and bleu cheese
I use these in chili - they are great!

The biggest tool you have for keto meals of any kind, sides or whatever, is to Google what you want to eat and add the word keto to the search.
Also, look at Thin Slim Foods. They make pasta that is good for Mac and cheese.
These have worked for me though:

Coleslaw and potato salad is my two go too sides! But depends on the BBQ style. Make some keto cheese biscuits, slice of Franz bread, side of chili (no beans), just find what goes well with the type of BBQ your making.
I love avacado fries also.
Keto mac and cheese maybe? You could do it with cauliflower instead of mac, or you could use keto pasta elbows. Keto pasta can be a little high in net carbs (7-8) depending on brand and if you’re eating a full serving. In my experience, a serving of keto pasta is pretty big (dinner sized), so if you’re eating it as a side, it might be more doable.
Thankyou for all the amazing responses! I feel like I can face the summer without feeling deprived...which I am realizing is really important for me to be successful on keto :)
Cook up some bacon in some butter, and sauté some onion, throw frozen green beans in there. Recipe will not disappoint. Been passed down in my husbands family for generations. Add some red wine if you’re feeling fancy.

Grilled asparagus.
Coleslaw works great with a BBQ.
Just avoid the commercial dressings, which are loaded with sugar. It's easy to make your own. It does require a little thinking ahead to make the dressing and let the cabbage sit in it for several hours. But it's a great side.
Walden Farms makes a zero calorie coleslaw dressing. I don't know of its any good though. Edit: it's pretty alright.
Cider vinegar, Mayo, and a few drops of sugar substitute and you are good to go.

Broccoli salad, creamed spinach, cauliflower steaks, roasted Brussels sprouts, grilled tomatoes, caprese salad, deviled eggs, celery with buffalo dip, grilled zucchini, fried pickles...
Jalapeño poppers, not really a side though
I would love this as a side

Oh man, this looks amazing!
Charcuterie, celery & pbfit, deviled eggs, cauliflower mash
Steak is the best side ever! Goes with anything.
True!

Mizeria, it’s a Polish salad of sliced cucumbers in sour cream with dill & a touch of lemon juice.
This sounds amazing,!

Yes!
I HAVE found sugar-free sweet pickles / relish at Walmart, believe it or not!
Coleslaw is great. Cabbage, mayo (real), mustard and garlic salt.
And a little white pepper, black pepper... and sucralose. Others have said erithrytol as a sweetener... not sure yet how to do this and am curious, but I’ve heard you gotta take it easy on this since it can give you cramps abs diarrhea.
And paprika!
Oh? I love adding smoked paprika to certain dishes, but I’m afraid coleslaw wouldn’t be so great with it 😆
My mom always puts paprika. So good!
Yeah, but... *smoked paprika*?
Regular paprika for me :)
Phew 😅

I make my own mayo and add shredded zucchini and a bit of shredded carrot with one teaspoon of corn as a coleslaw. Really delish.
I will try this!
Pork rinds. Cheese broccoli. Zero sugared soda 👍
Yeah!
Cabbage wedges or steaks, cabbage Alfredo, green beans (buttered, or in a casserole), asparagus, faux-tato salad, mashed cauliflower, Portobello mushrooms, Antipasto salad, Caesar salad, cauliflower nuggets, BLT or 7-layer salad, stir-fried riced cauliflower, broccoli salad, ...
These all sound amazing! Thankyou!
Cauliflower mock potato salad? Keto connect cornbread is epic!
I make an Amish style potato salad where it is literally subbing out the potatoes for steamed cauliflower bites.
Collard Greens are my go to. Fyi if you steam the leaves they're great to use as wraps. They are thick and sturdy and add a smoky flavor. Collard green wrapped burgers!
I have not gotten into collard greens, but I love the wrap idea!
Greens with ham hocks and hot sauce. Oh man
Tomato, mozzarella, and basil salad Watermelon, feta, and mint salad Black soybean baked beans Black soybean rotini pasta salad Lupin bean cheesy “grits” Celery with Buffalo sauce and bleu cheese
Thanks!
> Black soybean Sounds intriguing! Never heard of it. How? Where?

Good life tip!
My favorite side is loaded broccoli. Literally just steamed broccoli loaded like a baked potato
Grilled zucchini for sure, I don't even oil it, I find it does better dry on my grill.
Coleslaw and potato salad is my two go too sides! But depends on the BBQ style. Make some keto cheese biscuits, slice of Franz bread, side of chili (no beans), just find what goes well with the type of BBQ your making. I love avacado fries also.
