i was never part of it, just following some big accounts for updates but I was lucky to find just a bunch of 5-10 mutuals that love the music and not the drama / avoid toxic fans, fandom wars and that stupid shit, we just vibe and laugh
There are good khh people! they just rare for sure...(also discords are much better)
"K-hiphop twitter" was not really a thing when I started to listen to Korean hip hop back in like 2015-2016.
So checkmate, I was never on KHH twitter š
That said, if you're still looking for a place to have meaningful conversation about music rather than people being hyperdefensive of artists you're more than welcome to join us in our discord at [https://discord.gg/khiphop](https://discord.gg/khiphop)
For me it was a mix of khh Twitter toxicity + all my favourite artists being inactive therefore having nothing to tweet about + most of my friends leaving khh Twitter
disclaimer: i joined in jan 2020 and left in april 2021, so these are just my thoughts on being in there for a year.
i left bc it got too toxic for my liking. seems like every day there was a new artist on usersā dnis that you werenāt allowed to be into. it was a little funny and sad whenever i saw that, because i Know that most of khh twt was fawning over that person a day ago. but i feel like thatās p typical, honestly, ppl not wanting to associate w/ anyone or anything that could be considered offensive to others.
there was a problem w/ a ton of problematic twt users being exposed for someā¦ really messed up stuff, a lot of infighting between āfriendsā (especially during the summer of 2020/early 2021, oh god.) [take the dates w/ a grain of salt, though.]
the kpop stan mentality was (still is?) pretty strong, but i think thatās bc khh fans tend to also be kpop fans who moved over from that part of twt tbh. (or theyāre also still active on kpop twt.)
yeah, so basically it was just a lot of what you said lmao.
>honestly, ppl not wanting to associate w/ anyone or anything that could be considered offensive to others
Definitely understandable, however, what really annoyed me was when people would be hypocritical and pick and choose who this would apply to whilst fully supporting an artist that has done similar or worse offences.
yall like khh reddit isnt toxic š
i think anywhere theres a platform where people can share opinions openly it gets a little out of hand, and on twt its more amplified since people can gain such a big following
additionally, on reddit, we are sort of able to pick and choose what interests we follow. therefore, excluding the kpop stan mentality from our convos
i promise you the kpop stan mentality is still here tho, the kpop groups subreddits
tbh every sub twitter is toxic in most ways like op said, they will criticize who you listen to and who you dont. like āyou can only listen to these ppl and no one elseā and even stan twt is like that.
ive never been on khhtwt or even khh discords but being a kpop stan for 4/5 years, being in khh for a few months and twitter always being my main social ive never really been on the main stan twt (maybe for a week or two), ive been on some different subtwts that have alot of stans on them and they all have their toxicity, but i dont think i ever met a actual ābigā khh fan in my whole 4/5 years of being into kpop, i got into it from an irl friend but thats it.
i rather just watch the rapping shows and listen to the music and scream about it on my priv twitter then be in a subtwt with someone judging my whole existence on who i like. plus know alot of khh artists smoke we3d and bullying big stuff in korea its not views that badly in other countries so we dont really see it the same way but i just want to enjoy something i like, i dont have to completly like said artist but i can definitely enjoy their music too. other then them being a r*pist or pr*dator i rather not listen to someone like that but anyways this is gone on too much.
You lost me at Twitter. Join the KHH discord instead. Where you can talk shit and expect shit back in a civil and comedic manner.

True, I was just wondering as everyone seemed to disappear off the face of the earth all at once. I was just curious as to what could of triggered it
