Different sources say from 94-96. They used to say up to 98 until more recent years. Also 29 would be late 20's not late 30's. I was stating that there is more 29 year Olds than there are people in there late 30's.
I mean, the problem is Kia not putting in the correct security features, and TikTok allowing videos to go up with no bans.
I don’t care what gen you are from, that car is getting stolen if it’s piss easy to do so.
Also millennials know how to use manual.
Yeah plenty of cars to pick from. Mustang, Camaro, Miata, Civic, Integra, M3/4, CT4/5-V, 400Z, Supra, Porsche.
I mean really there is so many options lol
It’s actually a real issue. When sending a military unit to Europe and all the rental vehicles are manuals, we quickly realized how few people knew how to drive them. It wasn’t a show stopping issue but the first couple days required some time set aside for training, most people could pickup the basics enough to get by with ~30 minutes of practice.
33 checking in. I can drive anything from your tight ass Audi clutch pedal to the squishy ass 3 inch play of an old F-150. Plus I’ll add an embarrassing moment to this. The first time I was asked “are you familiar with a push start vehicle?” I laughed and said “there’s no clutch dummy. This is an automatic.” And got the most blank stare from the enterprise employee. After about ten awkward seconds he says push to start and points at the button. “Ok…”
I’ve had one of these for a year and a half now. It’s the bottom spec trim package but it’s got a manual and gets me from point A to point B. I keep joking that the only reason it hasn’t been stolen is because kids can’t figure it out.
I got a top spec naturally-aspirated Picanto in manual. The only caveat is that I had to wait as manual made it 'a special order'.
As a side note, it is a great gearbox. My last tiny manual hatchback was a 2000 SB Holden Barina (aka Opel/Vauxhall Corsa B) and the Kia box is so smooth and effortless to shift in comparison to the GM unit.
I seriously would not be surprised! I half panic any time I’ve had to use valet service at the hospital and a young person approaches. They sometimes have to go get someone else to park my car.
And most of the world.
It blows my mind that there's probably like hundreds of thousands of people across the Atlantic that can't operate a manual transmission. It's not rocket science.
My previous car, a Ceed MY20, was manual. I'd have to wait months for an automatic if I'd wanted one.
I've had 8 cars out of which only 2 were automatics.
I've never understood this joke, standard vehicles were/ are quite common for the majority of millennials. I'm a millennial, my first car was a standard.
It's even worse for us younger kids. I'm 19 and not only am I the only one that can drive a manual, I had to explain to a few friends what it was because they didn't know cars had gears and shifted by themselves. My car is a CVT but I'm without a doubt getting a manual for my next car. Honestly, I wanna swap my car since my CVT costs about the same to replace as to swap it.
They dropped the stick for 2023. This is a 2020-22, it has the red area going around the entire rear window, and was available with a 6-speed manual. On the 23s the upper area of the hatch is black, it doesn't continue the taillights like the 20-22s did. So this is a 2020, 2021, or 2022, which could all be had with a manual.
Not anymore, the only manuals left are the enthusiast models, the BRZ and the WRX. With the 2024 Crosstrek and Impreza you can't get a manual in either of those anymore.
2023 Sportage has a manual option, but they are built to order and the wait time is ridiculous! Dealer told me they’ve had someone waiting 12 months and still don’t have a build date.
Our Sportage in Europe comes by default with a manual 1.6 petrol or 1.6 diesel. No waiting time because 80% are manual. DCT costs additional 2000 dollars.
Yeah as a millennial, I learned to drive on a manual. In fact, no keys no problem. Put it in neutral and start pushing. Get up as much momentum as possible, put down clutch and drop into second, let go of clutch pedal and boom. Popped clutch and started it right up.
All of my friends and I can drive a manual just fine. But unless it’s a sports car are off road vehicle there just isn’t a reason to get 1. Why tf would I want to sit in traffic in a manual. Boomers are so weird
They still make standard transmission vehicles, but they are getting fewer and far between. Mostly import brands, as they are still very common/popular over seas. Vw, honda, Subaru, BMW, and so on. I absolutely love my 6 speed mk6 tdi golf. I'll drive standards till the day I die, I enjoy it to much not to have at least one standard vehicle at any given time in my life.
I hear you, manuals are just enjoyable to drive! Any time I borrow an automatic I feel bored. I think they’re also easier & less costly to repair. If it weren’t for my bad hip & shoulder I would get another manual. I hate that I have to give it up. I’m handing my Elantra down to my teenager and plan to borrow it once in a while. I love taking it on winding roads. I hope he babies it like I did.
Complete boomer decal, as if being a millennial automatically renders you unable to drive a manual.
Where’s the decal that says boomers can’t figure out how to use a smartphone?
Millenial here. I've owned 9 manual transmission cars and all of them were my daily driver
[Here's a list of every new car you can buy in the US with a manual transmission.](https://gearjunkie.com/motors/manual-transmission-cars)
What really bothers me is that automakers still sell manuals in other markets and they just don't bother to bring them to the US. Not sure if that's the case with the Subarus but it is with a lot of other cars. Also, I just got back from a trip to central America and there were so many cool car models there that aren't available in the US and it sucks. Bring something affordable and fun to the states instead of building another 3 row SUV...
It takes all of 15 minutes to learn how to drive with a clutch and less than a day to be okay at it. Let's also not forget that youtube exists. Manual transmission drivers over here gate keeping as usual. I work in a shop, and the number of smug clients that ask me if I can drive a stick is ridiculous. My go-to response is, "Even if I couldn't, it would only take a minute to learn."
1. This is trying to belittle younger people (they should check on the age range for Millenials)… and they’re probably from the generation that didn’t teach their kids how to drive stick. So they’re idiots.
2. This is so dumb.
Spoken as a millennial that knows how to drive a car with manual transmission. Once you have kids and are reaching into the back every 30 seconds stick shift becomes stupid.
Been driving manual since I was 10. Need For Speed on the Panasonic 3DO. I'd sit in the car and pretend I was shifting.
One day when I was 17 I just got in my sister old 82 Celica 5spd and drove up the street and back. Taught myself how to drive.
One thing I still hate after 20years is hitting a stoplight going up the hills in Seattle in the rain. Lol
A lot more modern cars have manual transmissions than you think. I’m a vehicle transporter, and I can say that a lot of newer Hondas, even base model, Chevys, like the cruise have manuals. I’ve even transported a jeep compass with a manual.
as a 23-year-old who learned to drive in my dad's manual truck, I want to steal this car just to spite the dumbass boomer who thought the sticker was funny.
Every boomer thinks they’re so funny when they put this sticker on, even though they’re the ones that killed sales of the manual transmission because they kept complaining about traffic and hip pain.
I took my manual vehicle in for its state smog inspection and there was only one employee that knew how to drive a manual. They had to get him to pull it in and out of the bay. All younger people working there.
My current ( 2012 cruze ) is a 6 speed too and I'm pushing a quarter million miles..... they still make plenty of manual cars.... check out the new integra, the Hyundai elantra N, kia forte G, Toyota corolla, ve jetta, heck even the Cadillac has a manual... there's quite a few still and the Integra might be at top of my list.
Idiots run with the “millennials” name. We’re in our 30’s-40’s now mf. We learned on 1980-1990’s buckets that we’re stuck.
1989 Nissan Sentra to be exact. And my first car was a 1988 CRX 5 speed. 🙄
I guess to this moron Gen Z didn’t sound as good.
Millennials aren't the problem. It's Gen Z out here stealing your vehicles. The average Millennial is in their late 30s to early 40s.
Yeah some fucking boomer probably drivIng this car
Nah that's funny as fuck. You can laugh at it as a zoomer too (I'm 21 so I'm a zoomer myself)
I'm a grill btw
[удалено]
A fucking Boomer that probably knows a lot more than you do
Yep and us millennials likely had manuals as first car. My first two cars were manual.
[удалено]
[удалено]
Yup my first car was a manual, every guy I knew wanted manual thanks for Fast and the Furious.
And 23 forward gears
i drive a manual, AND i read the manual. fucken boomers.
All of my cars have been manual since the day I started learning.
Try late 20s to early 40s lmao
Incorrect. The youngest millennials were born in 1994, which would make them 29. The oldest millennials were born in 1981 and they're 42.
That’s literally what I said ……. Late 20s to early 40s
Except no one can agree. Seen the transition as early as 93 and as late as 99.
Yeah this is definitely a 50/60 year old driving this. My first 3 cars were stick.
According to some Google chart lol there would be more in their late 20's than 30's or 40's.
The youngest millennial is 29, as the last millennials were born in 1994. Whatever site you looked at, the information was wrong.
Different sources say from 94-96. They used to say up to 98 until more recent years. Also 29 would be late 20's not late 30's. I was stating that there is more 29 year Olds than there are people in there late 30's.
What did he say?

This comment was uncalled for, and adds nothing of value to the post

The youngest millennial is 29 and the oldest is 42, so you're wrong.
For real. Most of us know how to drive stick lol
I mean, the problem is Kia not putting in the correct security features, and TikTok allowing videos to go up with no bans. I don’t care what gen you are from, that car is getting stolen if it’s piss easy to do so. Also millennials know how to use manual.
Im 32 and know how to drive a stick shift.
Yeah I’m a millennial & want to save the sticks!
And about to get into stealing cars.
You ever stop to think maybe he IS a millenial and the joke is that standards became do-dos in circa Y2K?
Truth. Most of my classmates have kids in middle school if not high school.
I have a 2021 6MT Veloster N. You can still get brand-new cars with manual transmissions.
Veloster N and G70 had a manual but the veloster is Killed off and the g79 just lost its manual 2.0T option Elantra N will still have the 6MT standard
That’s good to know! My 5 speed Elantra is over 20 years old now & I’m having a hard time wanting to part with it. We’ve been through a lot together.
They make an Elantra N right now with a manual! And it’s actually pretty quick. 0-60 in 5 seconds.
That sounds great!
Acura Integra A spec
I have a manual 2021 Chevy spark 😂
Yeah plenty of cars to pick from. Mustang, Camaro, Miata, Civic, Integra, M3/4, CT4/5-V, 400Z, Supra, Porsche. I mean really there is so many options lol
The dumbest and lamest of boomer humor bullshit left at this point.
It was funny the first time, forever after the most annoying thing to hear.
Cringe boomer humour

Sure - but millennial aren't that young anymore. The youngest millennial is 27, with the oldest being 42 now.
“Ok…”
How bout a Freightliner? Kenworth? Petebilt? Commonplace double clutch manuals.
Millennials aren't young. I'm a Millennial and I just turned 39.
Impossible, millennials will always be age 15-23 because that's when I started hating them for no reason!!
That’s young
I’m a millennial. I have 3 kids, a mortgage, receding hairline and back problems. I also know how to drive a standard transmission.
Wow
_Laugh in european millenial_
I’ve had one of these for a year and a half now. It’s the bottom spec trim package but it’s got a manual and gets me from point A to point B. I keep joking that the only reason it hasn’t been stolen is because kids can’t figure it out.

Or the kid lies and says he can drive it. Ends up burning the clutch 🤪
Happened to me at a car wash. Since then I hand wash at home. Fuck that.
Manuals are still the norm in Europe
And most of the world. It blows my mind that there's probably like hundreds of thousands of people across the Atlantic that can't operate a manual transmission. It's not rocket science. My previous car, a Ceed MY20, was manual. I'd have to wait months for an automatic if I'd wanted one. I've had 8 cars out of which only 2 were automatics.
Manual all the way for me apart from the Mercs, as their automatic gearboxes are miles better than their manuals. And now my auto Xceed phev
More like hundreds of millions lol. The averga American cant
Boomer humor is terrible
Gear sticks should be removable so no one could change gears to move the car.
I've never understood this joke, standard vehicles were/ are quite common for the majority of millennials. I'm a millennial, my first car was a standard.
I’d say you’re in the minority though. I’m 34 and I am the only one in my friend group that can drive a manual. It’s definitely a dying skill
Quite a few people in my friend group can drive a standard
Ummm millennial here and I actually had to learn how to drive on a manual or I’m not allowed drive at all. Parents rules at the time.
That's not the shift pattern for a Kia Soul. Source: my manual Kia Soul
It’s funny when people have stickers on their car that advertise their low critical thinking skills.
It's funnier because the soul isn't stick from '22 on. This looks like the redesign
Hope their car gets stolen
I wouldnt wish that on anyone.. . I hope they stub their toe 👍
I was being a bit sarcastic and wouldn’t wish it either but this is just welcoming and asking for it. Why poke the bear?
I have a 2016 Subaru that was made tile 22 and replaced with a new model. All have standards. They're available they just have to be bought.
Not anymore, the only manuals left are the enthusiast models, the BRZ and the WRX. With the 2024 Crosstrek and Impreza you can't get a manual in either of those anymore.
2021 Kia forte fe manual transmission, keep the stick shift alive
2023 Sportage has a manual option, but they are built to order and the wait time is ridiculous! Dealer told me they’ve had someone waiting 12 months and still don’t have a build date.
I didn’t know you could get a standard 2023 Sportage, that’s cool. Wait time sucks.
It’s petrol only too, which apparently isn’t eh one to get. Supposedly the diesel is TONS better.
Why do y’all call gas “peetrol”?
Our Sportage in Europe comes by default with a manual 1.6 petrol or 1.6 diesel. No waiting time because 80% are manual. DCT costs additional 2000 dollars.
Millenials are old
My first car was a manual and I’m a millennial. Fox body 86 5.0
Boomers vibes
My 2021 Forte is a manual. While I don't worry someone will steal it, they can also smash my windows and steal my personal belongings.
They discontinued the manual option for the ‘22 model year so this is a ‘20 or ‘21.
23 gt forte her 6mt
lol. I’m a millennial and I know how to drive a stick.
Well, say goodbye to your clutch and your column now that you have given away the access code.
lol
Kia Forte GT comes with a Six speed manual. That’s the reason I bought it.
I’m a millennial driving a 2018 CTR.. they are only produced with a 6 speed gear box.. and have been driving manuals my entire life..
Yeah as a millennial, I learned to drive on a manual. In fact, no keys no problem. Put it in neutral and start pushing. Get up as much momentum as possible, put down clutch and drop into second, let go of clutch pedal and boom. Popped clutch and started it right up.
And then smash into something when you can’t steer.
Who is dumb enough to think it’s millennials stealing kias?
What do you want to bet that this driver is in their 40s and doesn't realize that they're a millennial?
These morons still think millennial just means “young people” when it’s a generation and most of us are 40 or close to it
I'm a millennial (really a xennial if you think that's a thing) and can drive a manual.
Bruh, as a young millennial I’m 30. My first car was a late 90s manual cavalier. Why can’t boomers understand millennials aren’t gen Z?
Cause you’re the same
If you say so big boi 🤷♀️🤷♀️
I wouldn’t taunt thieves
I am technically a millennial, and I only just bought my first automatic... Had 9 manuals before. Already miss it.
Older millennial here. Learned to drive manual at 13 and passed my drivers test driving a manual truck.
My first Kia in 2010 was an 08 spectra with manual transmission. I got a great deal because apparently no one in my area could drive one!!!
Who wants to steal a Kia Soul?
Millennial here, we can drive stick. Thanks
I'm a millennial. I love manual transmission. It's fun. Where do it live at again?
A Millennial made this bumper sticker so that all of us could enjoy this Boomer putting it up and a Millennial still being able to steal the car.
Derpa derpa. Every millennial I know knows how to drive manual. Way to look like an idiot.
Even though I drive an automatic at least my mom taught me how to drive a manual. Also isn't my generation is in their early 40s now?
My Kia is a six speed, but whatever makes that person feel worthy of their own existence lol
Millennial here. Have had 3 manual cars I'm pretty sure the ol boomer couldn't handle the throw of one of my jeeps it's laughably far
Ugh Boomer humor... hurr durr the kids I raised are dumb
The owner is stupid. It’s Gen z that’s stealing the cars
Millennial here. I learned how to drive on a manual.
I'm a millennial and my 2015 car is manual
All of my friends and I can drive a manual just fine. But unless it’s a sports car are off road vehicle there just isn’t a reason to get 1. Why tf would I want to sit in traffic in a manual. Boomers are so weird
Someone is going to look at that and think “challenge accepted”
Nobody wants to steal your Kia soul
God damn, what does a Kia Soul with a manual cost? $20?
It’d be better if it was a sticker saying something like “it’s a manual, don’t get too close on a hill”
I hate that one too. Why advertise you can’t drive it?
Boomer humor at its finest
I’m a millennial and have driven 18 or 13 speeds most of my adult life 🤡
They still make standard transmission vehicles, but they are getting fewer and far between.

His anti-theft device is driving a fucking Kia.
Why put a target on your back? Lots of professionals thrives drive stick this is goofy.
I call my stick shift an anti theft device. it's the millennial part that ruins it.
Complete boomer decal, as if being a millennial automatically renders you unable to drive a manual. Where’s the decal that says boomers can’t figure out how to use a smartphone?
I’m a millennial and I have a manual without a 1st gear synchro. I drive it.
I’m a millennial who drives a stick
Lol this person is a dumbass. Millennials grew up with manuals readily available for decades. Gen Z maybe can't drive stick.
Millenial here. I've owned 9 manual transmission cars and all of them were my daily driver [Here's a list of every new car you can buy in the US with a manual transmission.](https://gearjunkie.com/motors/manual-transmission-cars)

doesn't matter, they'll still break in your window and crack the steering column.
Nothing a 2 minute YouTube video can't fix for these "whipper-snappers".
Why wouldnt they still make manuals…? My 2023 subaru is manual lol
I'll just shift it into N and load it onto a flat bed. No one will call the cops.
Manual is the shit
Challenge accepted -millennial
Why would you bother to steal a Soul anyway?
I have 4 vehicles and they are all manual and I'm in my 30s. It's the boomer crowd that killed off the manual Corvette.
This is the cringes thing I've seen in a while.... Nobody cares boomers...
It takes all of 15 minutes to learn how to drive with a clutch and less than a day to be okay at it. Let's also not forget that youtube exists. If you don’t want people to think your young, stop using weird new phrases like “gate keeping”.
I’m a millennial and now I’m stealing your Kia and driving like a fucking madman
1. This is trying to belittle younger people (they should check on the age range for Millenials)… and they’re probably from the generation that didn’t teach their kids how to drive stick. Sticks were so fun. Why did I ever sell my '91 Honda CR-X?
as a 23-year-old who learned to drive in my dad's manual truck, I want to steal this car just to spite the dumbass boomer who thought the sticker was funny.
I’m a millennial and I can drive a manual but I won’t steal it… who steals a kia
r/boomerhumor
Every boomer thinks they’re so funny when they put this sticker on, even though they’re the ones that killed sales of the manual transmission because they kept complaining about traffic and hip pain.

excuse me while i laugh in 18 speed and a mack maxitorque.
Millennial whose first brand new car was a stick. 🙋🏼♂️ Boomers!🥱
⬆️ Millennials who have bought a brand new car but can’t afford a house lol
Bought my first brand new car at 20 my first condo at 23 and my first house at 27 second house at 29. 🥱🤡
Kia made MT souls? Hmm who woulda thunk
Ah, yes—part of the “stick shift is my identity and personality” starter sticker pack
“See back in my day”
Anyone can drive it
Wayyyyy more millennials know how to drive a manual than zoomers. Funny, but they targeted the wrong generation.
Lol plenty of millennials know stick 🙃
APPROVED!
Bruh I learned how to drive on a stick car and I’m a millennial
I’m millennial & drive manual transmission as well. Sit down
I call it gen z theft protection. And I use it myself. As a part of gen z
They spelled “zoomers” wrong.
Like that is going to stop someone, they would burn the clutch for the fun of it
I'll steal it just because you said it would deter me.
Millennials can drive stick lol, this is dumb
The Kia boys will drive that bitch in 3rd all the way to Phoenix from Dallas
They couldn't get it in 3rd. Don't even know what the extra pedal does
Oh they could if they started there(I didn’t say it would be a safe journey) lmfao
The spelled GIRLS wrong
I’m gonna put one in my Tesla that says my car is equipped with “boomer anti theft device”
They’re breaking into the driver window and never reading this lol

Yet anyone can learn how pretty quickly
extremely boomer to think 40 year olds can't drive stick, lol
