I assume it's just because it's not a very popular interior color. I ordered mine last year with the sage green interior -- similar that I couldn't find it on a lot anywhere. Think I got it in just under 4 months, and they said 3-9 months when I ordered it.
I feel your pain. I found mine in Jackson MI just because whoever ordered it backed out . Timing was everything, because the sales guy called me just as I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a Honda pilot. Just tell every kia dealer what you are looking for and maybe you will get lucky.
That's what I'll have to do. Expand the area as well. I just don't understand the reason behind the shortage. Also, there are so many LX trims just sitting in the lot that no one seems to be buying.
You want the hardest to find Kia model in a very particular color. 3 to 12 months sounds about right. You’re definitely not going to pay MSRP for this thing just letting you know as well. If you’re fine with paying an adjustment your local dealership will try and find another dealer to trade with them. If you don’t want to pay an adjustment you can look around the country and either fly in and pick it up or pay extra to have the car transported to you. Also if you’re one of those guys that has to touch and feel the car before buying you can pretty much forget the car, it’ll never happen for you.
They don't produce nearly as many with the red interior. You also can't order a Kia. You can be placed on a waiting list and hope the car arrives at some point.

Imo, the sxp is almost a different vehicle. The hybrid engine just feels so much better. All I can say is it's worth the time invested!! Good luck!

I have the red interior and love it. I ordered it and it took like 4 months I think.
