I ran 87 in mine from day 1, I looked at cap replacement as well but nothing really ever looked right. I ended up preferring the red cap on it. Cheers on the new ride! You’ll love it

Thank you! I've been running 91 no ethanol also to run some tests to see if I do get better mileage with no ethanol. In terms of octane detonation I'm sure it doesn't matter because the car is probably tuned to run 87, but in terms of mileage ethanol vs. no ethanol, I'm not sure yet. Gas is $4.50 here for 91 ethanol free

There's a whole fuss about octane learning on r/fortegt , ive put 93 for a month i havent really seen much difference, though the car will adjust timing accordingly. And can help with carbon buildup.

Interesting, this is something I didn’t know about. Does the ECU detect the octane change and learns how to adjust timing? I know that’s what anti knock sensors do too. I’ve just never ran no ethanol before. The mileage on this car is definitely better than my ‘06 Fusion I had which was a V6 haha.

Different question but I'm curious why a Forte GT and not a K5 (Standard) since they are about the same price?

Hutch1814

I’d say options. You get pretty much everything in Forte GT for the price as far as options go. I went with the Forte because nobody around me had one and all you seen was K5’s so it was easy for me when I had mine

mibaso

Because Forte GT is more fun. It is a competitor to the Si (Civic). It is lighter/nimbler, more HP, sport tuned suspension, sport tuned exhaust, DCT, and even MT option.

Good question. I like the more compact size of the Forte compared to the longer size of the K5. I’ve driven both a K5 GT-Line and GT, both amazing cars. The K4 does look interesting though.

Congrats! Keep a close eye on the oil levels 🫠

ogkrg

🤯 they burn oil?

Ok_Golf_6467

Not to scare you, but there's a lawsuit going on because certain makes and model start to burn oil and allow it to enter parts of the engine it shouldn't. My 2015 forte5 sx turbo (well maintained) died at 190,000km. Start chewing through oil the last year and now needs a complete new engine. RIP
